My Philosophy: I love music. I love all kinds of music. And I go into every album wanting to love it, so that’s my starting point for every review. Keep in mind, though, that music is a very personal thing. An album may hit me personally in a very different way than it hits you. That’s complexly natural and unavoidable, which is why I try to include some personal context in my reviews. It’s so you’ll have a better idea where I’m coming from. In the end, it’s still just my personal opinion, which is inherently biased, and which you may or may not agree with. Hopefully, once in a while, we’ll find common ground.

I was on the fence on this since I have the Archive Collection version already, but I do think the early mixes may be interesting, so... yeah, the 2CD is the way I'll go.

Good news in and of itself, but I guess that means we'll still have to wait for the Archive re-issues of "London Town" and "Back to the egg".

Yeah, I don't understand the lack of commitment there seems to be to continuing that series.

I love the deluxe archive box set. Nothing much new on here, no new remix of whole album, no 5.1 disc as part of the package. I will get the 2CD version but really let’s get the archive editions of London Town and Back to the Egg already. Let’s complete the Wings catalog.

Yeah I don't listen to Dolby mixes, so basically the only new thing here is the album minus orchestration - which isn't that big of a sell..

I agree it is getting annoying waiting for the next archive editions. I'll get the 2CD of this set, but like you I'm anxious for London Town and BttE!

It's the American version with Helen Wheels on it.

No surprise there. I can't imagine they'd do it differently at this point.

If this had Helen Wheels the Crazed version, without the dialog coming in, I might go for it.

You'd think they'd erase Freud from the cover
    -cancel culture?
Well... maybe but his last band (whoever they were?!) seemed happy enough to delete Hitler from the cover of one of their previous albums…🤔

Hitler was never on Sgt. Pepper, it was just an idea.

Instead of power and purity there is poverty. The underdogged BOTRrrr Naked turned out to be soapy and sloppy. This has nothing to do with spying through the keyhole at strangers having sex or admiration for sketches of Mona Lisa. Something to the left, something to the right, no matter what or how. All that Giles. But now we hear that there are too many guitars for such a primitive result. The vocals on this recording also sound mediocre. Oddly enough, Paul's voice in the second part is the biggest disappointment. His singing here is weak, uncertain, without charm. This is not the voice of Beatle Paul, although he is only 31 years old here. It sounds too unprofessional, as if he had never sung in his life. One might even assume that this is an outtake. Linda also sounds bad and quite fake. You can hear that the atmosphere during recording is too relaxed, like at the first rehearsal. But the professional level of the performers does not allow them to turn this into a powerful improvisation. A lot of sound garbage, dirt, inaccuracies, replicas. The myth of Paul's perfectionism has been debunked. Now it’s easy to understand why the breakup of the Beatles was associated with their weak performance level against the background of new groups of the early 70s. Also more evident is George Martin's role in turning a mediocre performance into a first-class product.
