Albertville 1992 Opening Ceremony || La Marseillaise

After the lightning of the cauldron and the athletes/judges oath, Severine Dupelloux, a girl from the french region of Savoie (on which Albertville is located) performs a Capella version of La Marseillaise, french national anthem, to start the cultural program of the Opening Ceremony of the 1992 Winter Olympics.
Note: I have decided to reupload these vids to RUclips after they dissapeared some time ago, credits to the original uploader ^^

Du Canada, jamais depuis je n'ai revu un hymne chanté aussi émouvant. La forme épurée en cette jeune fille montant dans le ciel... a capella, avec des poupées d'innocence tout autour de sa robe tradi... des paroles sanguinaires réclamant la justice. Paradoxe. yep... anthem from an old military march from republican military units coming from south of France & defending the young french republic vs austrians & prussian troops attacking the only one republic in a Europ uniquely componed by monarchies.... British troops attacking south of France in Toulon city, Austrian & Prussian troops attacking north & east France. it was just after 1789. Napoleon came just after that to calm down them all during among 20 years ;)
