I have that exact Prio….I also have the Xero Z-Trail sandals that I carry when backpacking as my evening “in camp shoe”. While actually backpacking, I wear Altra Lone Peaks or my Lems (depending on the altitude or mountains of the trail. Funny that you mention Brooks, as when I did run, I was a religious Brooks devotee. I can’t fathom why the big name brand athletic shoe companies don’t at least adopt a more natural toe box, regardless of whether they adopt true zero drop. Another good review of a great shoe from a company that “gets it”.
I like my prios, they're my everyday shoe when it's cold unless I need boots, but the HFS is my favorite shoe when it's warmer! Your videos are very good, the production, the editing and your presentation. Keep it up!
I just ordered a pair bc they were only 60€ and I will be participating in a mini-triathlon in a month. Have been wearing barefoot shoes for about 2-3 years but I don't have an athletic model yet. These seem perfect for jogging/running and it's not too obvious they're barefoot (I don't want to get disqualified for having "improper shoes / protection" or something
I got a pair of these recently and really like them. I haven't been a sneaker wearer in decades, but I started with Cariumas and was amazed how good my feet felt without too much cushioning/arch support. I like to go barefoot, but our floors are too cold right now. I have Achilles issues and arthritic toes so am hoping barefoot shoes will be a positive change. (My physical therapist recommended Hokas but I absolutely hate them and have only wore them a few times, mostly when I had to wear a boot for Achilles tendonitis because they were high enough.)
I love the Prio, they're probably the most comfortable shoes i've ever worn but they have terrible durability in my experience. The sole has torn from the upper in many places and cracks on the upper. I've worn the HFS alot as well and that one has minor damages but not too bad. Have worn them for a year now interchangeably
I've been using some pair of flat puma retro style shoe for like 3 years. First as an everyday shoe then exclusively for exercise. The first 6 months was a little rough walking around as my foot muscles acclimated to supporting themselves. But in the end it solved the knee pain I was getting from wearing arch supporting shoes. I can't get the puma variety I like anymore, and the ones I got have chunks of the rubber sole missing, so I've been looking at these online.
Thanks for talking about this one! Been needing to replace my old mat flex shoes for lifting and my other workouts, and I've been on the fence on which type of zero drop shoes to get, since they're all so pricey! But this one in particular in the men's sizing is the most reasonable price I've seen. I'm a woman with wide and thick feet, so I do often find that women's shoes are too narrow and/or shallow. I'm gonna give these a try!
I actually got into the whole barefoot shoe trend by accident. I started wearing my water shoes as casual shoes and found I really liked the feel. Ive been doing this for a couple of years now. They're not really acceptable in most workplace settings though so I really need to upgrade...
Hey! I know this is like a year late but I've also been wearing my water shoes as casual shoes, although strictly for the gym, for years as well. I realllly liked how it felt because it felt like I was so stable. I've done some running too and it feels so natural. I do have to admit I experimented with vibrams five fingers for a while because I was one of the very few that though they actually looked cool lol. I had those for 2 years but I left them out in the sun with salt water and it ruined them unforutnately. So now I'm expecting my Xero Prios soon and I'm excited to start working out in them! It just feels good to know someone else had a similar start with barefoot shoes haha
Thanks for the review. I went to a minimalist/zero drop/wide toe box shoe years ago and I'll never go back. Running takes a minute to ease into but after years of primarily only wearing aqua shoes or my New Balance shoes which you can't find anymore I'm going to try out the Xero brand. Cheers.
I wish they made that color combination in women's. Women's feet are different so I won't just buy a men's size but the color combinations bum me out. I might get Vivos for that reason
I've been playing 2-hour tennis matches in these bad boys. And I've noticed that I'm faster at getting to balls, because I don't stomp around in my heels like I did with "normal" tennis shoes. I absolutely love the Prio. Great review, my friend!
Nice video, I just order a pair of these shoes. Excited to get them. I decided that I needed to get a pair of these shoes so that my toes have allot of space. I am cyclist who wears tight snug cycling shoes.

@@docksloan do you like these more or the Lems Primal 2s? I have Lems NinetoFives for work and just ordered a pair or Lems Primal 2s for running a marathon . Hope they work well
Lems have the most padding of the minimalist shoes, and have a wider toe box than vivobarefoot. Great for cement walking for long days. Xero shoes are the most comfortable and flexible. Vivos are the most durable, but not as comfortable of a fit.
Hey man, I just found the video and thanks for putting this together! I got the shoes today- I'm usually EUR 45 and got the Xero prio in EUR 45 as they advised true to size for this one but they felt kinda bigger than i'm used to at first. I mostly plan to use those around the gym so no running , maybe some walks etc. In your experience of using them would something like a regular 45 , true to size actually be Ok , OR its just I'm not used to the wider toe box etc. from my years of using conventional sneakers and that's actually how they should feel? What's your recommendation/opinion?

Wish I found it before my order so I could’ve bought from your link. Please tell me what socks you are wearing. Love the style. Are they toe socks? How does the shoe perform compare to say the vans and chucks when doing squats and deadlifts? I use either thr vans or chucks for the heavy lifts but i wanna have a shoe that i can use as well for running.
Vans and chucks typically are a more narrow shoe. The zero shoes give your toes room to spread. Thus giving you better balance and power production from the feet up since your gripped to the ground

I know that all the minimalist shoes are wide in the toe box but some are wider than others. I am wondering how Xero shoes are in width compared to other brands. I have very wide feet.
My boss used to wear Merrill Trail Gloves and thought they were wide enough, and after wearing Xero, notices how much tighter the Merrels feel. It’s worth trying out!
The important thing is to transition in small doses of this is a huge departure from what you’re used to. Soft-tissue work, mobility and forcing your foot to do work are the starting pieces.
