I’d been planning to live abroad for 4 years. I decided it was time to leave my job of 14 years, when I saw that it was no longer the right fit for my life. I walked a away from a very good job, over 2 years ago, and have absolutely NO regrets.
There has been so much polarizing content on RUclips lately especially within our community. Thank you so much for continuing to post positive and uplifting content. It’s truly freeing to see black women living their best life
Yes. You get out and away from the mental rut that too many online are stuck in and get out to other countries. Meet other kinds of black people amongst other cultures and you find out they aren't messed up like this. Whether you end up with a black person or not at least you don't have that divisive mentality of your own people anymore. Thankfully.
I love this video. The video has discussed all areas that I was concerned about. I'm 50 and I'm getting ready for my journey. No children and 2 husbands no longer. I do have a elderly mother and I've discussed the move with my mother. My brother stated I needed to watch the show Narc. I stated there is crime, drugs, abuse is in America and most places. That is not going to stop me. Letting go of my clothes, car and being comfortable in a placde. I can adopt and live a wonderful life out of the country,
I was 51 when I did ....no regrets had some difficulty But, strong wuthered it ,suffered ALOT....the creator wants me here...ground breaker.....in Jlem
Good for you!!! I’m 50 & just trying to hang in until 55 so I can start pulling from my 401k so that I can never work again. May only be able to hang on with lots of vacations and short periods of working abroad (work remotely but job won’t let me work outside the country more than 3 weeks a month). That’s ok - I’ll just be doing that every other month, lol.
I love Stephanie and Shida!! I am 56 and I am in the process of selling everything now. I am on my way. To not make a change you become stagnant and then you become bitter because you feel you missed your opportunity.
Good for you!!! I’m 50 & just trying to hang on with my job til I hit 55. May not make it, lol, but 55 is my worst case scenario. But ain’t a bad scenario to look forward to that.
This video has given me so much hope. My landlord just told me she’s selling the house I live In at the end of March. I’m like this may be the perfect time to go. 😭
This interview spoke to my heart and soul on many levels! Thank you Kaylah and Stephanie for encouragement I need to keep pushing forward with my relocation plan❤
I think a lot of Black Americans need to do more travelling to other countries because they have this idea that other countries don't have the essentials that are in the USA, but they're so incorrect. You can find everything in other countries that in the USA more, just like she mentioned hair and products, also it's because America always shows on TV the negative and deplorable part of other countries. Anyway, love this interview, Steph.
I wonder if my thoughts will happen, idk, maybe not but I have felt that there might come to be a mass amount of black people leaving the country and living elsewhere. Most will come back because you have to "clean up" your mindset first because you are dealing with other cultures and some won't be able to last as long but there will be some of us going and being able to stay significant years outside.
Wow, you are so inspiring. I have wanted to leave the US since my twenties and now I’m 54 soon 55 in April and I find myself just watching videos of people moving abroad.
I am 54 and making my way to move abroad next year at 55 no matter what. It's time to goooooo! So inspired by these amazing BW who made their dreams happen. 😍
I live in Playa for a month in a half during the pandemic and I loved it! I was right on the beach, walking distance to fresh juice stands and local vegan restaurants. I had a personal trainer for $15 a session. I got the “I need to move abroad” bug then. I’m just trying to convince myself to quite my corporate job! Ugh I want to go now!
So many truths said in this video! Great job Kaylah and Stephanie! I’m still inspired listening to this conversation. I want to go! Then I remember I did 🤣🤣 and Kaylah is now my neighbor!!
I am not a woman, but I am a 21 year old African American man. I really loved watching this video. You two really inspired me to go on my first step towards moving abroad. I just booked my airfare ticket from chicago to London and I think I want to live there.
When Sis said, “I just didn’t see myself as part of that dream.” This hit me. So honest. So grateful for the village showing us that yes too, it’s for us too! Thank you for sharing your story. Congratulations on your move and new businesses!
OH MY GOD!! MY EXPERIENCE IN MEXICO THE PEOPLE THERE ARE SSOOO WELCOMING,NICE,KIND HEARTED PEOPLE THERE IS, I BEEN TO MEXICO THREE TIMES I LLLOOVVVEEE MEXICO IT IS ALL THAT AND MORE..🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💞💕💞💕
I solo backpacked a month through Central America and had THE best time!! Started in Belize. Then down to Guratema, saw Tikal ruins/pyramids, then down to Lanquin, then Antigua, and then up and over to Honduras. It was AMAZING, met some of the nicest local people, best international travelers/backpackers and the sights and culture. 😊. I definitely enjoy Mexico and Central America.
Loved this interview 🙌. That's what I do. I stay in Jamaica up to 3 months (stamp in passport) and work from home. Will eventually let go of my place in the U.S. My teen has a year left in H.S.
I blame you too. I just moved to Pattaya Thailand. I got here Oct 30th. All alone... didn't know a soul here. Actually had never been off of the North American continent. More power to everyone who is thinking of and have already made that the jump.
Oh my dear Heavens to Batman! Kaylah, EVERYTHING You say is TRUTH! From reasons to move, to the sentiment and burdens felt, to how it Really is in Mexico is true. Thank You. I don't even know you and am proud of You. What an inspiration! Your interview rejuvenates me. Hunny, don't look for a mate or think you need kids. Feel and Live Your freedom. Too many folks are stranded because of kids and an unmotivated mate. Go where and when You want. When I spent only 2 wonderfully Blessed weeks in Ensenada, it was so relieving. I felt "free"and not judged. It's NO-thing like this faded country (that's being nice). I'm a criminal in america before I open my mouth and it's gotten old and exhausting. This nearly 60 year old double Veteran and her service dog are ready to go back to Ensenada and make it our home. Truck maintenance is priority before I can jump off this slave ship and get back to the waters of Ensenada Baja. Thanks for sharing. Stay blessed and highly favored. 💖
This was so needed! So inspiring and honest. Go Kayla! And thank you Stephanie for the work that you do, in gathering us all together and giving us the tools to go!
I am glad mental health was talked about, I hope there can be entire video talking about how, to get your physical, mental, spiritual needs met over seas. Is it different than the U.S?
You two are SELLING Mexico!! It sounds like an alternate universe 😂 Helpful people and not being followed in stores. Friendly stray dogs 😂😂😂 What is this place? 🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️Love you both, great content tonight xxx
I'm calling a therapist now. I need help to get me moving in the right direction. I've been hesitant about making the appointment but this is motivating me to do what I need to do to get what I need to be happy. I don't want to be uncomfortable anymore.
And I'm the opposite I WAS married and have two children who are now grown and college graduates. I have NOTHING holding me back. Just bring my cat and GO! I never thought about it like that. I am sooo happy I found you Stephanie and Rashida.
Omg this was so inspiring! I just turned 33 and I often lament over not being partnered (don’t want kids). When Kaylah said she rents a THREE bedroom apt for $860 my eyes actually started to tear up. I’ve always wanted a home where if my friends or family were down and out they’d know they’d have a place to come, but I’ve never been able to afford it. This helped me realized that I have the freedom to move as a please, my dog Jazzy and I, and I’m so grateful for this channel and the work you do. Im going to talk to my job about moving abroad. PDC sounds like JUST what I need after spending 2.5 months in the PNW (I live in Houston but was on an extended visit)! Thank you!
This video is so good! Thank you Kayla and Stephanie. I watch all 3 of you. I have a few years before I retire. I have started working remotely and I'm moving to Florida, but I'm fortunate that my mother is still alive and she does not want to move out of the US, so for now I just travel.
Greetings Stephanie, I've been following you for a while now. My inspiration is to keep watching to stay inspired with my goal to move to C.R. My Mom is in a nursing home back east, and I have most of that responsibility. Grateful she's still here with me and my daughters. My roots are C.R. both my grandfather and great. I've traveled to C.R. 2x. Fell in love with LA Pura Vida. I will continue to plan for my transition between C.R. and Atl, when I retire, I. 3 yrs. From the Bay Area,Janine. Appreciate you
Stephanie is doing great work and content. Very grateful for Stephanie and proud of Kayla, and Jayda. Very Inspiring looking forward to moving abroad💜Thank you all
Good morning Stephanie and Kyla. I'm 64 looking to retire maybe next yr or the yr after. Costa Rica is my spot!!! However, I still have the responsibility of my Mom in a nursing home. Thank you for inspiring me to plan for my dream and vision.
Greetings Stephanie! I was born, raised and still reside in one of the most expensive places on the planet - Bermuda. Gorgeous! Mother tongue is English. Most people want to vacation here or in the islands. I want to move to the UK cause I want a change. Talked about moving for several years and haven't moved yet. I am a teacher and in my home stretch moving towards retirement in about 8 years. I find there's a lot of advice about where to reside by white folk. I do not feel comfortable and safe in places that are predominately white. I also do not wish to reside with a lot of blacks that like to shock, jive and weave - trying to swindle one another. I think the biggest hurdle for people of colour wishing to travel and relocate is finding that happy medium somewhere in the middle of those extremes. My hesitancy is with people trying to take you for a 'ride' - dishonest and not genuine. I respect other cultures and their boundaries and their differences. Don't expect others to placate to me but do not wish to be taken advantage of. Just seems like more and more people are tryna con people and then they ghost you when you call them on their dishonesty. Fair reciprocation in all sectors is my wish.
I just find the expat community is unique. I guess anywhere you go you can find a con artist. I’ve traveled alone. I also lived alone abroad the one time I was swindled is when I bought a used washing machine abroad, the lost was minimal. I don’t want to generalize any group yet, I will say I prefer mixed communities. In essence, I don’t look to be swindled, I read vibes when I meet people and I trust my gut … no matter where I am in the world.
Thank you Kaylah and Stephanie. I am a retired nurse, recently widowed and love pets, plants and travel. I can live on my social security income in Mexico???!!! OMG
So grateful for this! Been watching for a long time. Im a new subscriber. Thinking about taking the leap! Stephanie your videos are awesomely authentic.! This one with Kaylah is very informative! Admire all who"ve taken the leap!!
Thank you so much for the great information that you are sharing with others women. I just found your channel not long ago and it’s been very inspirational for me. Keep on doing what you’re doing you’re bringing so much positive energy for black females.
Thanks for this ladies. Truly inspiring. I love when she said that her advantage was being a child of God and not afraid of being uncomfortable. There were so many valuable things I took from these. I really needed to hear this.
Like the video … but the windy audio parts were tough. Really appreciated the conversation about overcoming fears, relationships that may change, & moving abroad.
Isn't it funny how the most high works? The things we thought we wanted and needed became blessings in disguise. ❤️🙌🏾I too wanted the white picket fence, husband, two kids and a dog, but then I realized that's too cookie cutter and boring for me. 🤷🏾♀️It literally doesn't fit who Tiffany is. It took a heart break to motivate me to take my first solo trip EVER to Jamaica and Grand Cayman on a cruise at age 33 and my family freaked OUT! It was a 5 day cruise, I met alot of great people and had a blast! After that it was ON! 🙌🏾😁❤️ Besides my career as a therapist, I have no responsibilities. 🤷🏾♀️ Getting my mental health license, will help me to break free as an independent therapist and allow me to strictly see clients online, while on somebody's beach in the Caribbean. 🤷🏾♀️😁❤️
Awesome content, this information me a whole different perspective on holding in to stuff and it’s what’s holding me back from doing what I want to do, it’s cluttering my mind, thanks ladies.
Wow! Stephanie, first I want to thank you for sharing your energy, love and encouragement to me. I've just started watching you in the last 3 months. And, I am now ready to go where I can feel the freedom to live my best life. I am so grateful to you and for you for helping us and me. I will be reaching out to you for coaching and more.
Thanks so much Kaylah and Stephanie. I had been looking at Portugal but the size of the sister nomad community and cost of living is causing me to take a serious look at Playa del Carmen. Kaylah would you mind sharing the name of your apartment complex? Sounds like perfection!
Please be careful and do not tell ANYONE where you live. You never know who is who on the internet. When and if you give an apartment tour, do not show the view. Anyone can find where you live especially when you show buildings or areas from your windows. Please be CAREFUL..
Ok, this is making me add Mexico to my list of places to check out. Your story is extremely inspiring! I've only been to Playa as a tourist, but I need to check it out to live.
Hi there! New sub here...based on THIS video alone! (My first of yours). Thanks for this awesome content. Will you please do a Part 2 with Kaylah? There are a lot of great questions from the Live Chat that would be lovely if they were asked of her (like about her apartment search, the lease, deposits, etc., And about transitioning there on her job with regard to paying taxes) Also, I'm curious about the Black male community there... Having a sista tribe is cool, but has she encountered any dating prospects? Thanks again for sharing all this info!
Hey ! You will love Stephanie’s videos - please binge her content !!! And idk about the Black male community here 👀 if you find that answer, let me know!!! 🤣
@@lindywinthrop8260 there are many more Black people in general who are outside of the US than inside of the US. We are a beautiful diaspora, and we are not all US-bound. I’d love to one day date with that reality in mind. 🙏🏽 Much love! ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing. It is giving me courage. I am preparing my mind to follow a similar path. I would love to know the apt complex you found. Please?
@@KaylahCreative thank you so much! Btw, I've watched a LOT of the videos that The Dream Team (lol) does and your interview is the one that I absolutely relate to the most! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I'm definitely motivated!
Please don’t share where you live. Remember, safety first! If you like, you can give people a list of nice neighborhoods for them to check out and this could include the neighborhood that you currently live in, but you don’t need to tell anyone specifically where you live.
@@inmytravelstoday thank you for your concern! The neighborhood name I shared is quite large and includes 8+ residential complexes, each with Private security. I feel very safe. 🙏🏽❤️

#...the renewing of your mind!
Like the video … but the windy audio parts were tough. Really appreciated the conversation about overcoming fears, relationships that may change, & moving abroad.
I’m late to the party, and LOVE this video!
Wow! Wow! Wow!
Love this dialogue!
LOVE LOVE LOVVVVVEEE!!!! Can relate! I'm next! And She looks like Debbie Allen to me! lol Hey Steph, Looking forward to speaking with you soon!
Thank you for another awesome video. And CONGRATULATIONS on 87K subs👏🏾
Live your life! You only get one
Congratulations, Kaylah! 🎉 One day, I'll be boycotting winter with my husband.
I love that Stephanie, "Figure what you want and fo for it!"
Awesome content, this information me a whole different perspective on holding in to stuff and it’s what’s holding me back from doing what I want to do, it’s cluttering my mind, thanks ladies.
Stuff can wind up holding onto us, We can define ourselves by material items. I'm working on becoming a minimalist , I think🤔 🙂
My daughter has one year before graduation and I am planning now. I’m ready to go! I just need to get my employer on board. ☺️
Amazing video, Stephanie! Thank you ladies so much for sharing your perspectives on living outside the USA. I'm inspired!
I’m ready to join you ladies. I’m retired and don’t need permission to go! I have a house, but I can’t rent or sell that sucker!
Thanks so much Kaylah and Stephanie. I had been looking at Portugal but the size of the sister nomad community and cost of living is causing me to take a serious look at Playa del Carmen. Kaylah would you mind sharing the name of your apartment complex? Sounds like perfection!
I live in the Selvanova neighborhood here in Playa! You would love it ❤️ and the Black girl magic here is unreal!!!
Please be careful and do not tell ANYONE where you live. You never know who is who on the internet. When and if you give an apartment tour, do not show the view. Anyone can find where you live especially when you show buildings or areas from your windows. Please be CAREFUL..

Wise advice 👌
This video resonated with me on every level. Love and blessings to you ladies. Thank you for the inspiration. ❤️🙏🏽
But why go to a foreign country looking for black males? Are they the only males on the planet. Might as well stay in the US.
@@lindywinthrop8260 there are many more Black people in general who are outside of the US than inside of the US. We are a beautiful diaspora, and we are not all US-bound. I’d love to one day date with that reality in mind. 🙏🏽 Much love! ❤️
OMG, this is really amazing, I wish my mom would have had the opportunity to take advantage of this. I'll just have to do it for her
@kaylacreatives.... You said you got a COACH! Do you care to share the name of the coach if she is excepting clients. Great vid Stephanie!
Thank you so much for sharing. It is giving me courage. I am preparing my mind to follow a similar path. I would love to know the apt complex you found. Please?
Good beautiful morning. ☀️🌻
Good morning Killian. 💗
Watching now.
Thus is absolutely amazing 🥰🥰. I love you ladies
💗💗
Thank you!!!!!
Stephanie, you crack me up!
How is your cost of living? How did you find your home? What is your rent? Thanks!
Stephanie, your videos are always fun and informative! You look very happy and pretty and healthy! Your guest, Kaylah, is also fantastic.
@stephanie do you mind sharing what neighborhood Kayla has moved to in PDC? Me and Mo want to check it out! -Tesia Johnson
Hey! I’m in the Selvanova neighborhood!
Thank you
If you take up residency in another country, will you still be able to collect your social security from the US, at age 65?
Yes you can. Just keep your US bank account. Medicare can only be used in US. You will need insurance when you move abroad.
@@evelyngolden2272, thank you for that information.
I’m inspired

Assatia thank you for sharing your comment. For the past few years, I have been visiting relatives & friends in hospital & assisted living and it has made me think deeply. I have 4 years before my retirement. I will receive free health/dental / vision for 20 years. This is apart of medical plans for the future just in case I have to come from medical reasons. M goal is to travel & possibly relocate to Mexico.
I really want to keep my Sisterlocks. Is there anywhere international I can go that has Sisterlocks Consultants?
Good morning
Good morning D! 💗
I'm adding all these resources can someone speak to single moms like ING abroad
Stephanie.. can you point me to a community in Belgium, The Hague? Moving soon😍
