1:39:08 "How are you faster than me?" At level 5, both barbarians and monks have a +10 to movement speed. Ayla says that she can move 90ft while Dashing, indicating that she must have 45ft movement speed, whereas Pyri presumably has 40ft. So, if they were any other classes, Ayla would have 35ft and Pyri 30ft. Genasi have 30ft movement speed, so that makes sense. I don't know if it's been confirmed what stats wild elves use, but I'm guessing wild elves are wood elves, which have a base 35ft move speed. So Ayla is faster than Pyri because she's a wild elf (aka wood elf, probably). But Pyri will end up faster than her eventually, since barbarians only get one speed-up, and monks steadily get faster and faster throughout their level progression.
Certainly good and accurate math. There are technically wild elves in D&D just not 5E. Collectively Wood and Wild elves may be known as Sylvan Elves. So yes Wood Elf is a very likely choice. The only thing about Pyri's future though is whether he actually sticks around to progress like that. Rather have Quill and Sentry back. Not that the characters they are playing aren't nice enough. Definitely the attachment of time and the fact that I want the group to get a much needed W here. Also technically he isn't even correct about being faster. I mean it does take using the resource of his ki but he's always able to add his bonus action to triple his move speed if he wants to.
Still separating the party... pyri almost died (tom again). I guess that being a bunch of cute adorable kitties comes with the ridiculously painful combat. Well... I love you guys too much... I really hope Mark eases combat for them or else they'll need a dedicated graveyard for their characters.
American football field is 100 yards (300 feet) from end zone to end zone. A kickoff is done from a "tee" and is launched 80 yards (240 feet) away from the opposing end zone and often will land within 5 yards (15 feet) from the end zone. A "long" field goal is around 40 yards (120 feet) from the end zone; but the field goal posts are located at the rear edge of the end zone at a height of 10 feet off of the ground. End zones are 10 yards or 30 feet deep; which means that a long field goal attempt travels from the ground via an arc roughly 150 feet and still has a vertical height of at least 10 feet. A "punt" in American Football can travel around 60 or 70 yards (180-210 feet).
A very long american football kick would be 60 or so yards, so 180 feet. Squirrels are not very aerodynamic, so that might hamper a field goal. Tom would probably hit wide right though. No points.
Tom would probably miss the squirrel, lose his footing and land on his back. Then slowly turn his head to find a malevolent squirrel two inches away from his face. Pyri might do better.
😍 tales of equestria! The 2nd time I saw Mark on critical role and how I found Aerois! I hope to catch up soon. Aerois is at like 123 episodes right now.
I'm late but as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, and the exact line the sun traces across the sky changes over the course of the year, the riddle doesn't specify what time of the year it has to be so it will be exactly between east and west. All they have to do is figure out if the sun is slightly towards the north and slightly towards the south (depending on their location on the planet) and they know it will be a straight line in that direction. THANK YOU
I find it funny because it's pretty much the exact opposite of something that happened to her PC near the end of Lightfall. Though maybe it's because it was even more robust and persistent that she really didn't like THAT effect. I don't know what Mark is allowing it disallowing with house rules and homebrew on this one. Remove Curse is a third level cleric spell which RAW our dwarf friend should be able to prepare the very next day. Then again he's probably looking to avoid a quick and easy fix. Though it's going to make it far less likely that anybody will touch it even if they manage to get it off Lucius.
In American football I believe the longest kicks were from college players in practice. I witnessed a 75 yard field goal in 98, and I hear another made an 80 yard field goal in 2015. 1 yard is 3 feet, so between 225 to 240 feet for your maximum range mark.
A squirrel may be about as heavy as a football, but you can not kick it as far. A well blown football is a very elastic ball, while squirrel is an animal that will hold onto the ground (or it's victim's leg) with it's claws and will plasticly deform (take bludgeoning damage), when kicked. This would decrease the kick distance signinficantly.
It has struck me recently that the fact that 2 people have been killed in this group stems from 2 facts. This group over plans the simplest things, and then dives into things way over their heads, and they suck at the combat that they get themselves into.
Yes a squirrel would be lighter than a football in some cases, but the football is inflated with air, which is what gives it a bounce. A squirrel is solidly packed muscle. Imagine kicking a .5 kilo ribeye steak. Not going to fly very far.
what causes a football to fly far is not the air in it but the spiral it does which reduces drag due to friction. A solid thing can fly quite far (I have kicked oranges, watermelons, and cricket balls all while wearing steel toe boot so i don't break my toe)
I’m sorry I know that nobody will see this but please turn on the RUclips captions from 10:50 to 11:15 and see what RUclips thought they were saying 😂😂😂
Sometimes I get a feeling that they forget to add modifiers. Only because I think the cantrips they are using add those along with the damage they do. Like when chris did a 1 damage firebolt. But I could be wrong. Its been a while since I've played dnd
I know that this is late, but you're kinda right. At this point Fire Bolt is suppose to do 2d6 damage without any modifiers, it is impossible for him to do 1 damage because of two die, unless there is resistance to the damage
@@aclassicguardsman946 the point is, the sources (like the monster manual) only define creatures as Shape shifters if it's part of the creature innately. If it's a racial trait, or a curse (like werewolves). You'll see some creatures have a tag like: werewolf (human, shapeshifter). The Druid in the monster manual is also not labeled as a shapeshifter. They are not immune to Polymorph, however it probably does not technically stop them from using wild shape if they've been forcibly polymorphed.
I will say this, ropers are NOT an easy encounter. The high AC, plus the ability to wrap up chars, weaken them, and do massive damage with each bite, it is much more dangerous than most people realise. I say this because my DM, once was going to do 1 roper, then another one after the first encounter (was supposed to be a medium encounter due to the math). He had to ditch the second roper because the first one almost annihilated us. Rolls were average, the dice didn't hate us, it's just this creature isn't exactly balanced for it's CR.
It’s the insane ac plus it’s extremely high damage, the only upside to fighting is you can almost always out range it as it’s movement is ten feet per round but most players aren’t gonna play a game of cat and mouse constantly shooting it out of its range
Why did they run after the beast when they could have simply blasted it from afar, without the risk of Toms character almost dying? Sounds like a dumb idea to me when the thing is so slow that you can basically stay out of its reach and blast as much as you want. Aila could have retrieved her javeline afterwards
I love how theyre not even 15 mins in and theyve already broken into giggle fits. Never change, HR never change

I know this is late, but I swear Oriya was the one on the other side of the river with Johan?
Yes a squirrel would be lighter than a football in some cases, but the football is inflated with air, which is what gives it a bounce. A squirrel is solidly packed muscle. Imagine kicking a .5 kilo ribeye steak. Not going to fly very far.
what causes a football to fly far is not the air in it but the spiral it does which reduces drag due to friction. A solid thing can fly quite far (I have kicked oranges, watermelons, and cricket balls all while wearing steel toe boot so i don't break my toe)

NOOOOO!!! I want him to be like that forever
I’m sorry I know that nobody will see this but please turn on the RUclips captions from 10:50 to 11:15 and see what RUclips thought they were saying 😂😂😂
That is just sad
ive never seen so much planning
If you see something before it sees you then blast it.
been waiting for this all day!
4 points from lethal
his goblin is fantastic xD
Ah tom, so many death saving throws 😂
I love marks hair like this
During their brief time away highrollers lost all professionalism (if they ever had any.)
They never had any 😂
@@wave2632 They had the illusion of professionalism, a lot of us passed our saving throws and their vacation broke their concentration.
From now on when Nova casts ThunderStep, this is the song that will play: AC/DC Thunderstruck-
Yea the only creatures immune to polymorph are shapeshifters. Wait are druids shapeshifters?
They don't technically fall under the shapeshifter category, but a DM might be willing to house rule it 😉
But moonbeam works on Druids
@@poisonedoak6563yeah, if they're in wild shape, that's because they are currently in a different shape.
@@ViviDimension But that means they change shape which means they are technically shapeshifters
Damned! Just when I get into D&D beyond, no more promo code... guess i got in too late... :(
I still haven't played a game but I used the promo code to get the legendary bundle,
First 2 min... Me: "This is gonna be good"
"I can't tell how far in feet a football kick is". Bruh, the field has distance markers.
"Humid and Dry".... those are... opposites, my man.
Yeah, even in my campaign players would try to hit something from afar if things get too dire (they are also beginners)
ARTHUR: Ohh.
TIM: That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
ROBIN: You tit! I soiled my armor I was so scared!
why am i getting such blackadder vibes from the goblin guy?? 😂
1:07:39 *frantically pulls out monster manual*
53:25 I feel that Mark
A yard is 3feet 35-60 yards is a average kick
God I wish I could play with these guys
I love goblins. Favorite fantasy race ever. Mark's goblins are some of the best
