Hello David great vid name is Daniel I'm a Hvac contractor in Southwest Texas Area we are Amana dealers show your vids to my tech all the time keep up the awesome JOB.
Thank you Daniel for watching I really hoe all of these videos help, I just want to help our industry grow with good folks that love the trade as much as I do. I am here to help. Have a great day my friend.
Thankyou for this video dude, I am starting to understand these a lot more. Question if anyone on here is please willing to help. Why do you have your normal o, g, y1, y2 w1, w2 terminals when all you need is the Datta 1,2, and 24vac R and c ? Are the normal y1, y2, g, w1, w2 just optionable for non communication normal hvac system?
I just ordered the ComfortNet CTK04AE thermostat after using a nest for years, I felt it wasn't as efficient. I have a Goodman AVPTC60D14AD and a Goodman DSXC160601. Will I need to use the transformer when installing the thermostat? I see in the manual where it says ADDITIONAL TRANSFORMER IS NOT REQUIRED FOR INVERTER/VARIABLE SPEED OUTDOOR COMMUNICATING UNITS. ADDITIONAL TRANSFORMER IS REQUIRED FOR 2-STAGE OUTDOOR COMMUNICATING UNITS. Any help is appreciated and your video is very imformative. Thank you.
Let me rephrase my question I happen to have the same brand AC with the same thermostat and I have the thermostat has lost communication with the network what is the most probable cause and how much am I looking to pay for repairs
I have the variable speed Amana 3 ton unit. When they installed, they used my existing thermostat, which is designed for one or two stage units but not for variable speed. The Amana website says that it's built in "smart" ComfortBridge will allow it to operate efficiently even without the ComfortNet Communicating thermostat. But I'm curious if the communicating thermostat will be more efficient and/or allow more variablity in speed control? Is this thermostat actually better than a standard smart (1 or 2 stage) thermostat? I hate to spend this much money if there's no difference in real life. Thanks for the educational video!
Hey, if you have a communicating air handler with a communicating condensing unit you should absolutely make use of a communicating thermostat. It will absolutely be more efficient. That's the whole purpose of a communicating system. To achieve a higher level of comfort by utilizing a higher level of equipment control.
What about the Amana HVAC units that is an individual-per-room units (like in hotels, under the windows, & the thermostat wire in it? I found out where the "black" end goes to, but not the "white" end.
Hi - we moved into this house and it already had this thermostat. I have everything (security code, manuals etc) EXCEPT the MAC address and the CRC address for the unit. It is not on the back of the wall plate or the face plate either. How do i find these two vital pieces of information?
Thanks David you’re awesome. I’m from Middle East and I’m working here in Texas . I learned a lot from you. Thanks brother so much.
im an apprentice ...and going to install one after xmas 2019 ..after watching this video i feel more confident ..thanks for the video
You made my job a lot easier today....thanks

Thank You David! this should help. I've been stuck with this 18 seer system for the past 2 days. Going to tackle it again on thursday
Those extra wires have come in handy many times. Thanks Rob
Wow David !!!! I appreciate you very much dude!! I am learning about this communication

Really good video
I will do it today. Thanks for asking.
You’re great thanks!
You are welcome, hope it helps take the mystery out of wiring in the controls. Take care.

What did you do? Did you go from conventional to communicating?
Great thanks!
Is this a heat pump system or straight cool?
Dave how about changing a communicating system to a non- communicating system?
Nice job!
Nice video Dave.
Nice Video, How would you wire with a single stage condenser? i have the comfortnet with a modulating furnace. Thanks
i like the ComfortNet system. Especially when the existing tstat cable is lacking enough conductors.
Can you install a smart thermostat with this system????
What about the Amana HVAC units that is an individual-per-room units (like in hotels, under the windows, & the thermostat wire in it? I found out where the "black" end goes to, but not the "white" end.

Thank you I hope it helps.
Does it have as many problems and issues as the Carrier Infinity and Bryant Evolution?
Is this the same wiring method for an amana 2 stage heating and cooling system?
And what exactly does the step-down transformer do?
Good vid. David.!!!!!.thanks.!
Hello David, is there is any way i can use a new nest thermostat insted of this thermostat?
I did changed and using a nest thermostat now.
Hope it helps, I tried to explain how easy it is. I am here to help. Thanks for watching my friend.
What a good video!!
Want to see if you would make a vid on programming dip switches on high efficiency air handler for Amana . Thanks
Do the goodman communicating systems require dip switch adjustments or does the thermostat do it automatically
No. Dip switch is for non communicating thermstat
How would wire a nest thermostat with that wiring configuration?
Thanks, I hope it is helpful.
how would you wire a electrostatic filter to this 4 wire system. my old system it was wired to fan at air handler
So, no.1 and 2 are DC ?
Thank You !!
I need help . Just installed an Amana inverter series 3 ton heat pump and want to know how to do the t-stat start up
Don't forget to ground your transformer with your low voltage common.
but, WHAT ARE 1 AND 2 MEANS?
Do you know what you are doing? Just give the signal names not the wire colors.
