Long weekend plans for thousands of travelers are now up in the air. Domestic flights and connecting international flights have been canceled. Silvia Naranjo reports.
We are stuck in Phoenix. Just spent 2000$ USD for 2 one way tickets to get back to Calgary on Alaskan Airlines the next day. That was by far the cheapest for anything reasonable. I worked for westjet for 13 years. 2007-2020. There’s ALOT of issues there. Believe you me.
Sounds like American style management practices at WestJet... the gall to offer money from the employees pension fund as a pay rise... and WestJet is now charging for carry-on bags??? This sounds like one of two things; greed or desperate measures to stay financially viable, could WestJet be going out of business?
My complaint is that the union let Canadians believe they weren’t going to strike. Thousands of people travelled on Thursday and Friday and are now stranded. The union is using Canadian people as pawns. The union could have said “we are still going to strike” and people wouldn’t have travelled. They purposely chose not to because they don’t see us as people, just pawns. Westjet is exploiting their workers, so that makes it okay for the union to exploit thousands of travellers? Evil on both sides in this.
@@leslieb551 Leslie, you're full of it. The airline is using passengers as pawns hoping that you will single out the mechanics. The airlines let you travel knowing full well that they weren't going to agree to the mechanics demands. Now the airline is blaming the mechanics and you're falling for it. Go watch more daytime TV.
Ones in my life so glad I didnt book anything with Westjet, and I believe how much money anither company's what it will be Flair, and Air Canada will get extra, but if Westjet will not help to their passenger's they can sue the company

This is 100% on the greedy management. The engineers and mechanics along with the rest of the other canadian airline staff are underpaid
This is why I always fly from Buffalo if it’s possible. If I need to fly within Canada I have low expectations
