My son was approved for Dupixent back in July 2023 but, I’m so nervous to use it. He is autistic and nonverbal and I’m afraid of him having an internal side effect that I won’t be able to identify.
Our dermatologist recommended dupixent if we’re seeing that our 3 year old’s eczema isn’t improving. I’d love to know how did injections go at home? That’s a big concern for me. What is the long term goal? Is this something that would be tapered off eventually? I’ve heard of others experiences going either way. Tapering with minimal issues or the opposite; flare up. I guess that can always be a toss up with any medication we try 🤷🏻♀️
The injections at home were hard at first, I work in the medical field so giving shots wasn’t hard for me but my son didn’t like them. I think once You get used to giving them it becomes easier. He still has days where he doesn’t like them but will tolerate it, we hope eventually he won’t need it but his dermatologist said that won’t be for a while. We have noticed if we are late with his shots he starts to her eczema on his hands and neck so we know we def wouldn’t be able to stop For a while
you have the cutest little babies❤️so happy this worked for your son. i have atopic dermatitis and just got my first dose today but am having some worries. did he have any bad regressions or side effects that made y'all almost change your minds on whether or not he should be on it?
No a little more emotional than before but honestly no regrets at all! We had tried everything available for him and nothing worked it was our last option and looking at him now You would have never known he had it! We also made sure that we asked a lot of questions and did a lot of research before we started because we knew it would be something he would have to be on for a while
My son just got his first shot today. His eczema is very severe to the point that even his scalp gets really dry . He scratches his head and his dandruff is just all over his head. He was on a medication orally did him really good but he got covid so we had to stop it . It compromises his immune system. So I hope this really helps h . I am so happy that your son is feeling so much better now . My son hasnt been going to school cuz of his severe eczema . Did your son have any side effects?
We haven’t noticed anything bad! He is def more emotional and he is sleeping deeper which makes him have accidents at night at times but honestly it’s been the biggest blessing! I’m really hoping your son sees a difference! It’s like night and day with Kekoa
My sons Attopic dermatitis covers his face like a mask :/ were going to see if he qualifies for Dupixent this year , is there any major side effects you notice he went through? Ive heard in adults it causes muscle aches. Also is this a long term treat ment?
Can you please update how is your son now ? My girl 12 yo had her first shot yesterday and I also hope it will help us. Her skin was so bad on all over the body ,cannot go to the school , So if you let know I would appreciate it ? And does your boy have any sideeffect with eyes ? What country are you from ?
What things would you like to know about our dupixent journey?

We aren’t sure if what he complains about is from the dupixent or from his EOE. But really haven’t noticed anything serious
My daughter is on her way to getting approved for dupixent how long did it take for him to start clearing it up
We noticed change in the first two weeks and then pretty clear by 1 month
