Probably helps she also speaks English as a second language. She is able to understand the intent better than a native speaker would (used to working around a limited vocabulary).
I mean, why not? Pekora did well. Only one potion in Minecraft fits "dark eye". Only a stew inflicts blindness, and obviously she wouldn’t be asking Moona to bring it. Pekora used what she knew effectively
I think if someone said “use potion” in Minecraft to an experienced player, and they asked “what potion”, and the response was “dark eye”, that’s just effective communication in words. Both people would understand it. Pekora's persona is hubristic but she is clearly delighted that she and Moona did it using language
Imma say pekora is doing a great job and it shows that she’s learning. If anything it’s just that her vocabulary is not complete but she’s making do with words that do convey purpose. So I’d say her English is essentially conversational and by using it more and more she will learn new words to better convey her purpose. Because conveying the message intended is the single most important part of English, not grammar or spelling but communicating. And pekora is doing exactly that
Not just english, but any language. Use any word you know, add anything the other party might know of a language you speak yourself and you can manage.
It's because she talks with Moona, her English is recognizable, for me at some point,I do not understand what she is talking about when she speaks English, like "Dark eye" potion..., it sounds like a riddle lol, that's cute of her, pekora.
People give Moona a lot of credit for understanding Pekora and her Pekoglish but let's not forget here Pekora is also communicating in a language that ain't her first language too. Both should get credit for their ability to communicate with each other
What're you talking about? Pekora not using English, she using Pekoris, which is Pekoland citizen's first language, Japanese is her second language. Moona is the only hologirl who can understand Pekoris because the legend said from ancient time Pekoland citizen (moon rabbit) lived in the moon.
Moona: "Potions ↗️↘️ potions ↗️↘️, potions ↗️↘️, potions, potions... ↗️↘️" Peko: "Ha↗️ha↘️ha↘️ha↗️ha..." Peko has "Ha↗️ Ha↘️" for every Moona "Potions ↗️↘️"... I see... this is double the Cuteness!!! 🥰
There is no blindness potion in Minecraft. That's a suspicious stew. Pekora used what she knew, and Moona understood. Effective communication, no more, no less. Still fun to watch
I think the best part was Pekora chat reaction, they where laughing at Pekora but then they went full of "HOW??!?" when Moona understand what Pekora wanted
Which is more chat just playing along with the persona of Pekora as hubristic, because it was clearly effective communication if you’ve played Minecraft. That’s the only potion that could be "dark eye". The only other status that could describe is blindness which (1) would make no sense here and (2) requires a stew, not a potion. So she used the words she knew and Moona understood right away, because it was good thinking
Yo, what if they both play Minecraft and there's literally only one potion "dark eye" could describe, since blindness can only be inflicted by suspicious stew
I don't play Minecraft but the dark eye potion is _mata batin_ one in HoloID Mall, right? IMO, Moona understanding Pekolish & Pekora understanding enough English is a key component for their relationship. Long live SSR Rabbit Moon Idol.
Interpret "use item" as a noun (i.e. items they're going to use), then figure out that "sord" is supposed to be "sword" (at which point it's clear that there's an implied comma between it and "food") Context does help a lot narrowing down what it can actually mean. Same goes for figuring out that "dark eye" means night vision and not an actual eye (there aren't potions involving actual eyes, and the only other potion affecting vision reduces it instead which isn't likely to be useful)
@@sikthehedgehog It's maybe easier for non-English first speaker to break sentences and words to basic meaning, because native English speaker don't have any other language reference. And Moona sort of understand the minute details of Pekora's English.
It's actually easier for some languages in same melayu or chinese language-root based countries to communicate using broken english, because their language structure are essentially the same. For example, 'use item is s(w)ord food' can be reverse-translated as 'tsukau mono (wa) ken (to) meshi' in japanese, or 'pakai barang pedang makanan', both which completely understandable in their respective languages. It's also not a coincidence the JP branch learns Indonesian quicker, and vice versa; their languages is just that compartible.
Well you know they have a very special bound that makes them understand each other through the language .....or maybe it just moona who have a very good skill in understanding
I wonder if they’re going to team up to kill the Warden? They’re gonna need two more or maybe more members in their team to beat the Warden, because when I watched Vanoss and Terroriser, they had to team up with Nogla and Marcel, and it took them a couple tries to beat the Warden, most of it was just for shits and giggles, and some of it was Nogla being… well uh, “Nogla.”
It truly is amazing how moona understands peko English. Pekomoon forever!
dark = night
eye = vision
moonmoon really good with english synonym words and stuff.
Probably helps she also speaks English as a second language. She is able to understand the intent better than a native speaker would (used to working around a limited vocabulary).
I wished I had 5% of Pekora's confidence when she said "dark eye".
I mean, why not? Pekora did well. Only one potion in Minecraft fits "dark eye". Only a stew inflicts blindness, and obviously she wouldn’t be asking Moona to bring it. Pekora used what she knew effectively
they seem to have a bond of their own!
That's why Pekolish is okay for moona😌✨
they do not use language to communicate, they just feel
I think if someone said “use potion” in Minecraft to an experienced player, and they asked “what potion”, and the response was “dark eye”, that’s just effective communication in words. Both people would understand it. Pekora's persona is hubristic but she is clearly delighted that she and Moona did it using language
Moona just truly understanding Pekora is probably my favourite thing about their relationship.
Moona needs to open an online class for *Pekolish* .
I'll sign up day one for sure
I love how happy Pekora got after knowing that her broken english actually got through
Pekora, miko and korone, the three laughs I will never grow tired of hearing
Botan. I rest my case.
@@crochetcocoking4275 I second this, Botan laughs are the best, but I would also like to nominate Mio wheezes as top tier
Also Risu too
At this point we may as well acknowledge that Hololive is the vtuber equivalent of One Piece when it comes to laughs.
And Kaela, the one laugh that I never grow tired of not hearing...
i've been missing this PekoMoon moment for a long time :')
Its almost 2 years
1 year
when Pekora say dark eye, I'm imagining someone get punched in the eye and got circular dark"frame"around the eye like 🐼
"ok wait" classic.
after all this time, moona still understand pekolish very well LOL

Also moona understanding almost her every word is helping pekora confident a lot, I rarely see moona asking for repeat tbh
True. Pekora hides her power level but her english is actually pretty good as this person has pointed out.
Moona is truly the right hand of peko specially when it comes to pekoglish
People give Moona a lot of credit for understanding Pekora and her Pekoglish but let's not forget here Pekora is also communicating in a language that ain't her first language too. Both should get credit for their ability to communicate with each other
Well, they both did the same, Moona is also using the language that isn't her first language
yup totally agree with you, and also english isn't even Moona's second language actually, it's her third language
What're you talking about? Pekora not using English, she using Pekoris, which is Pekoland citizen's first language, Japanese is her second language. Moona is the only hologirl who can understand Pekoris because the legend said from ancient time Pekoland citizen (moon rabbit) lived in the moon.
@@badplayboy295 is that lore canon?
@@livina5161 It's jork. lol
Not hololive's lore but coincidence from Asian folklore, there are mythical rabbit on the moon.

Well, according to legend, rabbits live on the moon, after all.
The connection between these two is just amazing.
Dark eye potion
Smack someone's eye till bruised
You gonna appreciate moona's level of understanding, lol
Pekomoon is back and its great.
Anyone but Moona would have returned to Pekora with a blindness potion
There is no blindness potion in Minecraft. That's a suspicious stew. Pekora used what she knew, and Moona understood. Effective communication, no more, no less. Still fun to watch
I love Moona focusing searching about the potion while Pekora laughing wonder if Moona understand

A NEW OVA?! LESGOOO
Even though they haven't interacted in a long time, Moona can still understand the pekolish , what a such lovely couple
Moona has a lot of experience to be fair.
Pekora semakin banyak grammar nya, dan dia janji mau ngalahin Werder bareng moona. Semoga bakal colab PEKOMOON BACK
Woh-den
Wkwkwk
This what I love about pekomoon 🤣 Language barrier means nothing to them...
moona was, like say no more fam i gotchu. :D
When your beloved streamers are holding hands through multiple language barriers.....
Yo, what if pekolish is actually a secret code for them to communicate. Moona was highly trained to decipher the code on the fly.
Maybe that is one of the requirement for joining Usada kensetsu, and it's trained by Moona hersef
Yo, what if they both play Minecraft and there's literally only one potion "dark eye" could describe, since blindness can only be inflicted by suspicious stew
Moona is like the responsible imoto, taking care of the maniacal onee-san
Yes, real life example of Yui and Ui K-On or Hikari and Himari Demi-chan

Great to understand in no time.
maybe that's why they're beaten up by wardens... dark eyed for sure! lol XD
Pekomoon ❤
Cuz something problem in ID server
We can see Pekomoon again
How the fuck did she interpret "use item is sord food". That is magic I tell you.
