What I love about this is that you guys designed your own engine from the ground up; it doesn't lag like so many other indie/mainstream titles and still looks gorgeous. Looking forward to an open-world exanima. This game could be huge, like a baldurs gate with real physics combat.

its interesting to see how much better the combat and movement has become in exanima since this video... I haven't been excited for a video game since I was 13.
Oh man I need to check out Exanima, this kind of minimalist but "simulation-like" feel to everything feels like exactly what I've been wanting out of an RPG for years, it already looks so polished for what's there. There is some incredible potential here.
I have heard nothing about this game is there somewhere i can get constant updates of development and production. Maybe where i can get a hold of an alpha copy early access or pre order. Maybe even donate? Crazy excited but it almost seems like production is dead.
I can't wait to dive into this games combat system for hours and hours. Wow! I look forward to this, very much. Every facet of the gameplay looks compelling.

Oh my god... great job and lots of improvements since the last video of Sui Generis ! This game have also uber potentials with the Multiplayer RPG Shards like Neverwinter Nights. You can do loads and loads of stuff that respect the actions you will do with your Character - Hope there will be those Shards + Mod Tools after the Release ! Glad to have kickstarted you guys !!!
the rain sounds sound like rain falling on leaves. I hope they make really good choice for the sound design. For a game like this really good sound design can make it worlds greater.
Been checking this channel a few times every week for the past year for a new video, it couldn't have been any better :D I love the art style mostly and the way you pickup items, drop items and move items around. It looks epic. Nice job.
It would be cool if you could cut off limbs or break them. Or being able to stab someone and the sword going through them. I think it would also be cool if you would feel the hits actually connect. I hope those things are added in the full game.
Guys, stop whining, understand that Exanima is Sui Generis, but just a dungeon of it, it's simply the platform on which they are building Sui Generis's engine, tools, graphics and so on, which takes extra time, since they're not a big team and the engine and gameplay got much much more delicate and detailed than planned. But I believe that we are close to the light, friends.. Not too long after, we will reach the surface! Ps. They are definitely not giving up, throwing updates constantly.
Can't say how much I want to play this, didn't back, didn't have the mula. The concept of taking the genre of rpg into a physics based space is just amazing, and I love everything about it. The waffling being an attribute of a crappy stat for sword wielding etc. Really really reallly really cool potential here to grow the genre.
Combat is amazing, I hope you put more citizens and people in the final version. some wind and weather effects such as clouds would be icing on the cake, Amaaizing work guys!
+BareMettle loved the fact that whatever weapons and clothing is on a character visibly you can really collect and wear them, also like the idea that you can properly disguise using another characters outfit and stealth through a gate etc, strategy versus killing, thats a good gameplay mechanic, but can also the see that being a psychopath and taking on multiple enemys in this game, is going to be very difficult as it would be in real life, ie weight of number of enemys is what dictates a victory usually, good realism. how about the possibility of much heavier weapons knocking the opponents weapon out of their hand disarming them etc. nod - adult pack with realistic injuries and blood loss etc, as in one good run through with a sword and people would be dead, blows with heavy weapons drops a char unconscious for 20 minutes but not dead, two many pummelling blows rendering an opponent senseless and worse at fighting, could quite work out what the bars meant im guessing one was energy and the other portion of the bar, health ? maybe characters on the floor writhing, camera needs pulling in a bit tighter for the combat action? realistic limits as to what you can carry without bags and such. fire on a stick being a very scary weapon for opponents wearing cotton, which in reality it would be. great stuff really moving - game mechanics in rpgs forward,
There will be lots of that. Actually they just finished work on the dialogue system and it will be available in Exanima very soon. You'll be able to talk with multiple people simultaneously, interrupt them or joining conversations. NPCs will be able to do the same. Everything you'll say will affect what people think of you.
Exanima is an absolute gem of a gaming experience I discovered quite recently, it is brutally challenging yet so amazingly rewarding and fun. I can't wait to see more of what's in store for that game but also to see this game come to fruition as well I hope the development of these projects continues on untill the wonderful day they're released ^_^ .
Looks great. Feel sorry I missed the kickstarter. Combat animation looks great already but I hope they smooth out the running animation. Looks a bit weird right now
This game is one of the most interesting concepts I have seen in a long time, and looks like it would already be a lot of fun. I just would like to know... in a previous video there were two characters that were cooperating and one was the player, does this mean the game will include some sort of multiplayer system, or will it be strictly singleplayer. (either way great job, and I can't wait for this to come out.)
From what I remember it will be LAN but not online multiplayer options. The video you think about don't have to be a group of players though, there will be NPC groups in the game which you can join/battle.
Using chairs and other furniture to our advantage in this game in such a realistic way makes it great. Also terrain, notice how the movement slows down when going up.. Definitely picking a bow if possible, with that thaumaturge teleport thing...
It's not just a matter of swapping the animations as the devs have stated multiple times. Look at what they've created so far, if it were that simple it would've been fixed long ago. They are a small indie team tackling incredibly complex problems that even AAA studios don't. Hope we can stop stating the obvious and appreciate their amazing accomplishments.
The lead developer just said on the forums that he is working on the running animations right now and will post a video soon so we can see the changes. Video will also contain explaination of the game controls.
when they had the character switch outfits so she could get past the guards, i got a real good Commandos vibe. since this is pre-alpha i understand that some of the features are not polished, but just i wanted to give you a heads-up on the running animation (nearing the end of the demo where she was walking up the stairs her legs look kinda wonky). you're going in the right direction. good work
This game has so much potential. ADding physics into these games in a big way lets you evolve so many archaic systems. For example, having a stat like Agility, in old games, might just give you more dodge % or more crit chance %, but with a physics based game like this, you could make Agility actually give your character more stability / speed when fighting / moving on uneven terrain. Making it so you could refine your own character's personality and build further, opting to lure tough enemies to uneven terrain to duel with them, like a scene out of Princess Bride or something. I'd love to see armour take damage in real time somehow, and perhaps your character eventually be able to just crush through it once they're strong enough and can craft a sturdy enough weapon. Another way that having ingame physics as good as this can expand what's possible to achieve through simple ingame stats. Maybe being able to use unwieldy or novelty weapons, dual wield two handers, with some crazy moves like an actual physics based whirlwind spinning attack that requires you to have high agility AND strength to pull off without falling over xDDD
That combat looks so awesome, a bit clumsy (like most unexperience people would fight) but it feels very realistic. The combat physics are just awesome.
Imagine Sui Generis - The difficult gameplay of Dark souls series, dialog of witcher 2, the sandbox feeling of Ultima Online,( taming animals, building your home, PVPing, finding quest to do randomly), the creature design of soul sacrifice...HRGNNNN..would be so good i can only hope.
HAHAHAHA!! YESSSS!!! A question though: As nice as blinking around is, are we going to be able to scale rough stone walls assuming we have enough skill/stats/a rope and grapnel? A lot of us would love to re-enact what we just saw using 0 magical abilities, and maybe give some patrolling guards the opportunity to pick us off with bows or crossbows too. =D
Oh, and also assuming proper equipment and inventory. No climbing walls with metal armor and a pair of chainmail mitts, and no looting a place and hopping back over the wall with 4 shields, a halberd, 2 breastplates, a flail, and 17 candlesticks in your character's pack.
The combat physics in this game look absolutely fantastic! The animations still could use some work though (especially while running)... They remind a bit of the animations of all these weird limb control games which appeared recently.

What I love about this is that you guys designed your own engine from the ground up; it doesn't lag like so many other indie/mainstream titles and still looks gorgeous. Looking forward to an open-world exanima. This game could be huge, like a baldurs gate with real physics combat.
I am so grateful good PC titles like this are still being developed.
dude, i really hope my descendants would be able to play this, I already have exanima but this looks amazing too
Sui Generis Evangelion - You Will (Never) Get To Play This Game.
I found myself really loveing all the great details you put in and ... that combat...
Dear god I want this shit to come out already 😷 been playing Exanima for to long the dark dungeons are getting to me I need sunlight
Lmao, there's the theater and the arena, isn't that already enough?
Will it ever come out
Where are the debs have they spoken about the progress at all
Please keep up your wonderful work, can't wait to grind for months on this amazing game :)
I'm so hyped for Sui Generis I don't care how long it takes them the idea of the game alone is absolutely amazing. Exanima is also such an amazing game and totally worth the money.
Simple and easy to understand stats! Yes! lol tripped over a chair, awesome! Love how the camera works. Combat is so sweet. physics! oh glorious physics! Discovering that cave was awesome. Equip and drop is so easy! powers are awesome. Disguise is awesome. Picking the chair back up is awesome. Environment is amazing. This game is going to be legendary an instant classic. There are so many little details and big ones to absolutely love here. Water looks a bit plastic but who cares!
I actually love how the water looks. ¨
I guess I like my water plastic..
never heard of it till today
its interesting to see how much better the combat and movement has become in exanima since this video... I haven't been excited for a video game since I was 13.
same
Can't wait to play this!
I hope great things come your way!
This game looks amazing, with the fluid inventory system, and the way swords actually obey the laws of physics when both people attack at once
Oh man I need to check out Exanima, this kind of minimalist but "simulation-like" feel to everything feels like exactly what I've been wanting out of an RPG for years, it already looks so polished for what's there.
There is some incredible potential here.
2 years ago, and it already looked so good.
Are you still alive
@@amirhb7531 I still breathe.
@@SPACENOMADMALEV that's good so you're more alive than this game
@@amirhb7531 looool. Well, ExAnima is alive and well.. but is it everything we saw in Sui Generis... Not really.
But ExAnima is awesome. I still hold on to the faith.
It looks amazing, I wish you the best in making and finishing the game.

"'Tis but a scratch."
"A scratch? Your arm's off... or at least should be."
"I've had worse."
"You liar!"
"Come on, you pansy!"
this could be a genre-breaking game!
if done by a big company, yes. Indie devs have no chance. Actually, physics based combat is what nextgen ARPG will feature.
Been checking this channel a few times every week for the past year for a new video, it couldn't have been any better :D
I love the art style mostly and the way you pickup items, drop items and move items around. It looks epic. Nice job.
It would be cool if you could cut off limbs or break them. Or being able to stab someone and the sword going through them. I think it would also be cool if you would feel the hits actually connect. I hope those things are added in the full game.
Waiting for it on steam :)
yes :(
aren't we all
ANDRE AQUI KKKKK
Too
Lol
Guys, stop whining, understand that Exanima is Sui Generis, but just a dungeon of it, it's simply the platform on which they are building Sui Generis's engine, tools, graphics and so on, which takes extra time, since they're not a big team and the engine and gameplay got much much more delicate and detailed than planned.
But I believe that we are close to the light, friends..
Not too long after, we will reach the surface!
Ps. They are definitely not giving up, throwing updates constantly.
Theyve been developing exanima for like a decade.. have they been working on this game the whole time as well?
Jesus Christ this is almost ten years old. Didn't realize that Sui Generis would be a Star Citizen-like.
Wow, game looks fantastic, you improved that fighting system really good. I cant wait to play it !
@BareMettle this game is really promising and has big potential to be a really fun game for some gamers, including me!
Keep up the awesome works :)
oooo...I just know I'm gonna love this game, haha loved it when she tripped over the chair and he politely put it back in place.
There seems to be some much weight behind the weapons. 'tis an absolute joy to see!
I am so pumped for this game!!!!hopefully you can make the world feel more alive.
biggest lettdown in history,m still waiting and hoping
patience is a virtue
Combat is amazing, I hope you put more citizens and people in the final version. some wind and weather effects such as clouds would be icing on the cake, Amaaizing work guys!
Usually I'm not a big fan of top-down perspective games, but I find this great. This game seems to have potential.
Sweet! the combat is starting to look really good, keep it up!
The Music is awesome! =D
This looks so freaking promising! So glad I supported you :D
+BareMettle loved the fact that whatever weapons and clothing is on a character visibly you can really collect and wear them, also like the idea that you can properly disguise using another characters outfit and stealth through a gate etc, strategy versus killing, thats a good gameplay mechanic, but can also the see that being a psychopath and taking on multiple enemys in this game, is going to be very difficult as it would be in real life, ie weight of number of enemys is what dictates a victory usually, good realism. how about the possibility of much heavier weapons knocking the opponents weapon out of their hand disarming them etc. nod - adult pack with realistic injuries and blood loss etc, as in one good run through with a sword and people would be dead, blows with heavy weapons drops a char unconscious for 20 minutes but not dead, two many pummelling blows rendering an opponent senseless and worse at fighting, could quite work out what the bars meant im guessing one was energy and the other portion of the bar, health ? maybe characters on the floor writhing, camera needs pulling in a bit tighter for the combat action? realistic limits as to what you can carry without bags and such. fire on a stick being a very scary weapon for opponents wearing cotton, which in reality it would be. great stuff really moving - game mechanics in rpgs forward,
Really loving the way magic seems to work in this game. Can't wait to play it!
I was sold when you teleported that dude off the ramparts! I hope there is writing/dialogue in this game.
There will be lots of that. Actually they just finished work on the dialogue system and it will be available in Exanima very soon. You'll be able to talk with multiple people simultaneously, interrupt them or joining conversations. NPCs will be able to do the same. Everything you'll say will affect what people think of you.
Been glued to Exanima for days now. I am really looking forward for this one.
Same! It's like Bushido Blades but for PC and even better!
In love with the housing option and the silly stumble there.
I can't wait to play this game. It looks great! Keep up the good work :D
First game ever where you can fall by accident!
Demons Souls did that before it.
Or even old school games before all that.
daAmazin FatB0y Ayye, even in GTA V you can trip and fall on guns and motorcycles etc.
Loftty OG exactly m8 and the the old gta aswell.
Loftty OG, You cannot. You have to do it by yourself
+TheBananaMan You can fall by accident in Shadow of The Colossus and even Uncharted I think.
YEAHHHHHHHH!
This's game has so much potential.
Looks great. Feel sorry I missed the kickstarter. Combat animation looks great already but I hope they smooth out the running animation. Looks a bit weird right now
WOW!!! Really impressive... Congratulations, BareMettle!!
Video will also contain explaination of the game controls.
oh my god, i fell in love when i noticed you can pick things out of the inventory and place them on tables and stuff
I get the feeling that this game is really going to consume my life. This is looking great, Bare Mettle.
Brooo release this game already i backed it fucking 7 years ago
If they released it it would be another cyberpunk they are working on it still exanima has come along way
Armoured combat looks so goddamn sweet
I'm loving the sword bouncing off the chainmail and all that funky business
I knew it was just a video, but I kept scrolling my mousewheel trying to zoom in on the action!
где игра, ? я устал ждать.
when they had the character switch outfits so she could get past the guards, i got a real good Commandos vibe.
since this is pre-alpha i understand that some of the features are not polished, but just i wanted to give you a heads-up on the running animation (nearing the end of the demo where she was walking up the stairs her legs look kinda wonky).
you're going in the right direction. good work
This game has so much potential.
The combat physics are just awesome.
kenshi 2 and sui generis can't wait for these game to came out, even tho I still don't know when xD
By far my most anticipated title. I hope when it does release I have the time to enjoy it!
@@PapiSmerf ya know plate armour isn't that hard to move in for people who are used to it
The combat physics in this game look absolutely fantastic! The animations still could use some work though (especially while running)... They remind a bit of the animations of all these weird limb control games which appeared recently.
Just had a sleepless night after playing exanima, thinking how cool an open-world sandbox rpg version of it were. After a couple of minutes browsing through the exanima comunity hub i stumbled over this gem. Can't wait for this. :D
