Secret Caverns, America's Best Roadside Attraction

I just got back from a trip to see Howe's Cave and the Iroquois Museum on Caverns Road. I saw the Secret Cave billboards, which reminded me a little bit of the South of the Border sign series. I'll probably go back, and maybe take a side trip to Secret Caverns. Howe's has a cow story too... his cows didn't fall in, but they hung out in the cold draft from the hole, which prompted him to find out why they weren't in the shade on a sweltering day.

That is great. We love Howe Caverns too. It is amazing they both ate so close but the tours have such different feels to them.

Went to Secret Caverns around the week of Labor Day in 2022. Apparently one of us said the crazy artwork all over the billboards and the buildings were the main attractions while the caves themselves were little more than a long stretch of corridor with an odd rock formation every now and then. I noticed the named rock formations have bi-lingual name tags, in both English and Chinese. I can assume a lot of Chinese tourists from New York City take bus trips to upstate.

The art is definitely what makes it stand out to other cavern tours we took. Plus funny you said that about the signs. Both times we were ever there the tour included a tour bus of Chinese tourists.

I’ve been to Howe Caverns several times through the years, and love it. Secret Caverns was never open when I was there. Maybe I should check with them first before I go up. Great video! Thank you both for taking the time. I’m going to go there sometime.
