I don't know why people feel the need to bash this song as "not country." Maybe it sounds like pop and has some rapping, but it also has a country feel. Music doesn't have to fit neatly into one genre. It's a catchy, feel-good tune.

I think everyone needs to chill out. Everyone is having a fit about how this is not "country," but yet this guy has written several songs for other country artists that people have deemed "country" enough. So what if Sam Hunt decides to play and sing his songs a little more "pop country" while the other artists have sung his songs more "old country?" He's still country. There is a big difference between the 90's country I grew up on and today's country, but music changes. There's a big difference between rock of the 80's and current rock too...and same with rap. You all are just going to have to accept that.

Sam Hunt is a Country Artist even if you don't like his brand of Country. He is what country music needed (IMO). An Artists with crossover appeal that can attract not only country fans but pop as well (and quite hawt)

Country music started off as bluegrass but they are now considered different genres. This music is not country.

He died recently, and it's the most painful thing I've ever had to go through. But when it gets hard, I listen to this song, and imagine that he's there, listening to it with me, too. The reason I listen to new country is because, unlike classic country which suffers with heartbreak and hardship, these guys are singing about love and loving life. I like the positivity.
Being too positive though is a recipe for disaster, and then, you will find yourself sympathizing with the heartbreak and hardship of the classic country. We are young and in love, and it feels like we could do no wrong. Oh, our hearts are so restless with wanting.
