Haro Fan People who listen top country give a shit because it's ruining the traditional genre. He should be in pop but is to chicken to try and compete with the women. In country he has free reign to make pop and win awards without having to try and compete with any females.
Pop Off! The "traditional genre" has been changing constantly. Conway Twitty/Hank Williams isn't close to being the same as John Michael Montgomery/Sammy Kershaw who isn't the same as whoever the hell's on the radio now (I stoppped listening for the most part 10 years ago for the above reasons. Saw it coming with Carrie Underwood). Sadly, everything changes. Now we have an infusion of young people making the kind of music they want to hear. It can't all be about storytelling and twang and heartbreak and ex's livin' in Texas. Sometimes it's about a younger demographic who still identify as country and don't want to suffer through trap (or even pop) music to get their party on.

Sam has always said his influenced goes from country to R&B to rap he doesn't label himself I love his entire album and if it wasn't for him Kenny, Keith, Billy and others wouldn't have that many hits considering he wrote songs for them!
