    "That was bit of a longer trip than I expected" is the universal reaction to a trip to Ikea 😂

    My advice would be to be careful with the raspberry bushes. They can easily take over. My stepmother wasn't careful enough and her large garden was covered in them.

    With the bulbs, cut the spent blooms as you said, but leave the leaves and foliage to die down on its own before clearing it away. Loved this one. I love your candid vlogs the most

    Your positively glowing...your garden is looking lovely already. Get ready to be sleep deprived, or maybe your little one will fall into a great sleep schedule 😊. I fell in love with my baby at first little cry. Had not even seen or held him yet. And love bloomed, he was such a good baby, even with gas problems and a milk allergy. I had alot of brothers and 2 sisters so being around and babysitting gave me all the practice needed. Or some of us are just natural mothers. Prayers for a safe birth..💟💖💟

    Raspberries are really interesting. I'm not an expert, but from my experience, they really like to send up shoots and they kind of "move around" meaning eventually, the original bushes will die off and the new bushes will take over. It also takes a couple of years for the new shoots to bear fruit. Someone may correct me if I'm wrong. Too lazy to look it up, just observational. Love your garden!

    The seating area is so nice! That will be a great little retreat once the baby comes! The plants along the fence with arrow-shaped leaves can be tricky. Here in California they are quite invasive and the berries are poisonous. I read that you need to get all of the little bulbs out of the ground to get rid of it. I only mention it because I have a 2 year old and I am always trying to make sure that whatever pops up in my garden is ok.

    I just wanted to share a quick tip for after baby arrives. When you first open the diaper for a change, lay the front bit back down for a minute. Sometimes the cool air triggers them to pee more and with a boy it will go eeeeeverywhere.

    When you feel up to sewing historic things again, I would like to suggest making an Edwardian tea gown, one of the styles that are fitted to the bustline but loose (or adjustable) at the waistline and below, and yet they are so loose and flowing that they look really elegant at the same time! I think you would enjoy wearing it as your body gets back to its pre-pregnancy size and shape, and it would be comfortable to wear if you decide to have any more children in the coming years.

    I think raspberries propagate in the same way that lilacs do-by suckering. That is, shoots will move along under the ground and pop up a little way away. You may want to dig up these early suckers and give them away. If you don’t keep up, raspberries and lilacs do tend to take over!
    With your bulbs, you want to remove the spent blossoms but leave the leaves/foliage to make more food for the bulbs. It will die back eventually, and that’s when you can clean them up.
    Edit: I’m hoping your little man arrives April 22-Earth Day (and also _my_ birthday).❤️🎂🌍

    lOVED THIS. I was just thinking of you, when I came on RUclips and there you were. Fun video! I have never been to Ikea so that was interesting. Our store is miles away..... Anticipating baby! I can only imagine how your feeling right now.....Right down your feelings for you will so enjoy them when you look back and read what you wrote. Computers change and info lost. Hard copy is the best. I have one I made when I was dating my husband and we were just getting to know each other before anything got serious. Wow so glad i have it now. @Loepsie Are you sure those are strawberries? I have never seen strawberries with yellow flowers.. Pink and white yes, but not yellow. It might be Potentilla nepalensis (or such) or Waldsteinia, and those are "just" flowers :)

      Yeah I think you're right. We had a huge amount of those in the back of the garden and they must've made their way over into my strawberry patch 😅 There are definitely some actual strawberries in there as well, I planted 6 last year!

    Sorry to burst your bubble, Lucy, I know you've been looking forward to growing your own strawberries for a while! But yellow flower 'strawberries' are not edible... Well, they are not poisonous or anything but they don't taste sweet. They are false strawberries that only look pretty (they do well as a ground cover!). Please google 'Potentilla indica' to read about false strawberries. Best put these plants back on the ground and fill your containers with some new (actual) strawberry plants (look for the name Fragaria × ananassa in your garden centre).

    • @Loepsie
      @Loepsie  3 месяца назад +1

      Oh no no, I GREW my own strawberries! You're right about the false strawberries but they literally spawned inbetween the actual strawberries I planted last year 😂 I've only been able to identify them now that they've started blooming, getting ready to chuck them out and plant some more proper edible strawberries 😁

    This didn't show up in my recommendations again. I think youtube is mistreating you. They don't like women who show motherhood and pregnancy in a positive light. Screw them. Being a Mama wins.
