I am surprised nobody is rotating the Fold 4 into landscape mode to compare it to the pixel fold . It shows that two apps look the same when rotating the screen.
I assume that the speakers are on the top and bottom of the pixel when folded, like on the F4? In that case when the inner screen is being used for content viewing in landscape mode the Fold has them on the left and right whereas the pixel is still top and bottom firing? Not so good if you're not using headphones...🤔
Your right! It's like no one uses the phone. I have a channel with 2 million subscribers but it's about restaurants and travel. Truthfully it's frustrating to see non everyday users on these phones. Read my comment above no one covers this either. I guess it's all about the $$$.
It really shows that you don't know what you're talkin about, why would you do that to yourself, an the functionality on the pixel fold isn't even comparable to the Z fold 4 , we don't need trolls on this website.
I have both the phones and I have to say that the Pixel fold is better. The outer screen is very useful in terms of reachability, and it helps to increase the usability, the battery is superb(even playing 2 hours of continuous videos on the full inner screen with Data on, the battery went down from 100% to 83% vs 100% to 72% with the fold 4). The Pixel fold is lighter and easy to carry in the pocket. Lastly the Pixel is more smooth as it comes with stock Android which avoids buffering unlike Samsung. As for speakers I found them to be not much different than the fold 4.
8:19 Z Fold 4 - you can actually make the task bar go away by pressing anywhere on the task bar for 2 seconds. And you can get the task bar back by pressing on the screen where the task bar supposed to be by 2 seconds.
I've had the Fold 4 since it came out and love it. So much that I got rid of my iPad mini. Google has done a solid first attempt here, but you get much more for your money with the Fold. The Pixel definitely needs to have more multi-tasking options; I often have 3-4 apps running together and it's great.
@@Peach_iced_teaa I just have the Samsung one where you can swap out the pen or have a kickstand. I don't use the pen much but keep it in my purse just in case. Use the kickstand all the time.
@@Peach_iced_teaa the full body kickstand on the zf4 is honestly one of the reasons im switching back to it from a vivo x fold 2. it makes such a big difference for my day to day use cases.

Good to see competition it will keep pushing things forward. I have a Z Fold 4 and it appears to be much better than the Pixel, but it's a good second option.
Weirdly on this occasion i want the pixel hardware with Samsung software. Those fold specific labs and good lock options are invaluable until app makers adjust for foldables...if ever.
I don't have any issues with the Pixel bezels. I understand it has to do with the hinge. Also I don't like the underscreen cameras so I prefer the camera in the bezel. I have to say though, if you compared all the issues the first samsung had to the minimal issues the pixel fold has, I think Google is off to a great start! I suspect many of the software issues will fix over the first year and the Pixel fold 2 will be that much better when it launches.
I prefer the pixel folds way of multi tasking it looks better. and who in their daily life needs 3 apps open at the same time on the same screen. Im still not sure which one to purchase or even if i should just wait for the z fold 5
Look! You always do a great job! You need to show video on outside and inside. I have a fold 4. Video play back is frustrating. The inside screen awesome for old shows like Star Trek voyager. Uses full inside screen but newer video uses about a centimeter more than outside display. Since they are different aspect ratios it would be nice to see the difference.
I have to disagree with you on the build quality being better on the fold 4 than the pixel. stainless steel on the pixel is better than the aluminum on the fold 4
Thought the difference between Victus and Victus+ was pretty much nihil anyway... They pretty much just added a + for marketing. Google also chose to have the larger bezels to house a, hopefully, stronger hinge mechanism.

The selfie cam on the inside of the pixel is only slightly better than the under display of the folds from what I've seen. Also you would be using the outside cameras anyway and both are good for video calls
Your brightness comparison is not correct imo. In Pixel adaptive brightness was on and in Samsung it was turned off. You need to have same settings for both to compare. An as far as I know, adaptive brightness does make a difference.

Best comparison so far on RUclips. Yes I agree Fold 4 is overall better and has better user experience on the bigger screen. You forgot to mention that Fold 4 has S pen support! And better processor
I skipped getting the fold 5 and got the fold 4 and absolutely love it. I still prefer the fold 4 because of better optimisation of apps and functionality since its the 4th generation of samsung foldables. And i do not mind the smaller display. But the apps aren't really "optimized" on the Samsung Fold 4... it's just that Samsung stretches them out to fill the screen. I think Google's point in NOT doing that is to make the developers actually optimize apps to work with a larger screen. Hopefully, it works.
@BenSchinkel you can chose to have the apps look like in the pixel's on the fold aswell. But yes apps should be optimized since samsung is on its 5th generation of foldables
But 5 will have snapdragon 2nd gerenation processor which is more efficient than its predecessor. Also is thiner, lighter and the new tech will make crease much less visible. Cameras are also better but I dont care about tham that much, dunno man but I will get 5

Now this is the review comparison I was looking for! Thank you Sakitech! To each their own!.😊
Right now you can get a fold 4 for $799 @ google fi. Superior specs, same screen size, and a $1000 cheaper than pixel fold. Easy choice for me plus google is notorious for punishing early adopters with botched rollouts and offering even better deals on black friday.
If anything seeing them side by side makes me appreciate my choice for the Pixel fold coming later today. Imo the size ratio beats out all other factors
@soberanisfam1323 So, people don't hold phones and tablets sideways or landscape? Everyone has their own preferences; some folks prefer the Z fold, and others, the Pixel Fold. It's that simple.
I have both phones, but have been using the fold 4 since release. I like aplit screen better on the fold with two apps horizontal/x-asis, more than the pixel fold. Also, i have lesrned to use the s-pen. Additionally, when folded i can text with one hand on the zfold, but its much harder on the pixel fold because of screen size. Finally, 3-way multitasking is really nice. What i dont like is samsung bloat (2 app stores!). Google has done a good job for their v1 device, but are playing catch up.

S-Pen , S-Pen, Spen !!!! I guess I am the only person who loves the S-Pen experience on the Z Fold 4 . No one mentions it!!! Does the Pixel Fold support it ?? I do love the wider outside screen on the Pixel Fold ,but I often use my Z Fold 4 inner screen in landscape. So perhaps the next Pixel Fold will interest me.
I like that these phones address different needs for people. The Fold4 is perfect for me, but for people who value the Pixel's differences, they now have a choice. Neither one is a "winner" over the other.
If you held the z fold 4 in landscape orentation would watching a video on youtube or netflix be larger than on the pixel fold ? Thanks to anyone who can answer that for me
Thanks again for a outstanding video once again. You gave me alot to think about on the pixel fold. Good information that I didn't know about both phones. Ive had the note series phones since the note 3 but never had the note 7 though. (Fireball 7). Some called it. Hopefully in the future they put a S-Pen in one of these Samsung fold phones, that be the deal. Iam happy with my Samsung galaxy fold 4 . It's my 3rd model of fold phones. A little riddle for ya. What was the Boston tea party favorite tea ? Liberty Lol, Happy 4th of July to all from Charles
I look at the gap on the Samsung phones as a pro instead of a con. If there's something hard like a small grain of sand on the screen when you close it, the gap is a good thing 😉
The screens don't touch in either case, but the gap means shit can get in their while closed and bounce around scuffing up the screen. So much better to know the interior screen is fully protected while closed.
Tensor chip is a hot mess. Runs hot and can’t hang with the speeds and power of the Snapdragon variants. Maybe the Tensor G3 chip will be better with thermal management when they decrease the chip’s nanometer size?
I disagree with your opinion that the inner display is the primary screen that needs the most design attention. After all, these are phones that can operate as tablets and not the other way around. The outer display is far more important imo, and that alone makes the Pixel a better choice for me.
Samsung literally calls the inner screen the "main screen." The cover display is meant for quick interactions. It's a different philosophy from the Chinese foldables like the Pixel Fold, which encourage you to use the outer screen more than the inner. Which begs the question: why get a foldable you won't unfold?
@@myfakeguuglaccount8307I found the narrow Fold 4 screen to be aggravating because typing is slow and prone to errors. The content was also more narrow and videos are tiny. I was *forced* to use the inner screen more even though I don't want to. Having the larger outer screen is wonderful because texting, watching videos, and using the web while on the go are still pleasant like my S22 Ultra. I can then *choose* to use the inner screen when it's more productive or efficient. In fact, I am typing this right now with the Pixel Fold inner screen in portrait mode while watching this video. With that said, I will likely return this due to being first generation. I will seriously consider the Pixel Fold 2 next year.
I agree with your assessment, and disagree with the author's conclusion. My opinion is that the outer display is the primary display. I spent a lot more time with the outer screen than the inner screen. The inner screen is great when I am stationary. But throughout the day, the phone stays folded in my pocket and on the move. The Fold 4 narrow screen was rather annoying when I had it for about 10 days.
After messing out with both phones myself over the last 3 days I can easily sum it up. Pixel fold has the better screen aspect ratio, main cameras, and pixel software. The Samsung fold 4 has slightly better battery life, better fold apps and UI, and a brighter screen. Both speakers or about the same. But I think the pixel fold sounds a little bit better. And lastly, both are still delicate and can easily have their screens broken if they are dropped or damaged in the wrong way.
One thing glossed over, there are pixel-exclusive features that draw many users. The lack of samsung bloatware is also a huge plus. Many of us die-hard pixel users have been holding out for a foldable which also happens to be a pixel. The pix fold is the only one meeting thos criteria.
Many complain about the small size of the outer screen on galaxy z fold 4 and 5 coming this year, but i love it like that, that's the point i think Samsung are trying to make. It's a foldable, outer screen for phone calls, notifications, selfy and a few other things, and then when you need to do more you unfold it, the narrow outer display is perfect for one handed mode and a much better fit in the pocket.
Not at all. Fold 4 has a sub-par outer screen and a bunch of Samsung bloatware. Pixel fold has all of the pixel exclusives, a great outer screen, and a good inner screen as well.
Software wins over hardware IMO and the fold 4 has the better software, better multitasking, can multitask with any app, all apps can fit full screen, separate inside and outside homescreen set ups, taskbar is way better, etc.. I inow its a bit unfair to compare a 4th gen fold phone to a first gen but google had the chance to see what worked well on the fold and what didnt. While they did things hardware wise with form factor and bezzels for camera, they went cheap on components using old gen tech. But worst off was the multitasking and separation of inside and outside screen set ups. Sure software can change but until it does the samsung fold4 is a better user experience
7:15 you do realize you can enable the task bar to always show on the pixel fold right? 11:24 a brown/red material you theme is obviously darker than a full white theme. next time open something that is white on both phones.
Tensor in my pixel 7 pro gets very hot very quickly and annoyingly they used the same chip for the fold, my fold 4 works a lot better but would be interesting to see the fold in person
Issue with the Pixel is that, whilst the orientation results in a better outer screen experience, the inner screen being landscape because of that means the opposite is true when using the folding screen, the Fold 4 being portrait beats it hands down for me. It simply supports more apps with that orientation. And I use the inner screen 90% of the time so the Fold 4 is the better option for me personally. Horses for courses though
Thank you for the video and the comparison. I just don't understand these phone companies. Google should have made the phone the same height as the Z Fold 4. The extra width when folded on the Google Fold is perfect for me and if it was the same height as the z fold 4, I would have purchased it instantly. Why does anyone like a long skinny phone (like the z fold 4 when folded) that you can't see anything on???
Faster software updates on the pixel and probably easier to hold, but the fold 4 just has more to offer.Just a shame about the dust filling gap when closed.
Think a big difference is that retailers such as Verizon or AT&T will offer the Pixel at a much reduced price with a trade in ( I used an old iPhone 11 ) and get about $900 off making the phone $900 effectively, where as the Z Fold 4 is not doing this ( Fold 5 maybe, have to wait and see )
If Pixel Fold sells more than thousand phones, it'll take the Samsung engineers about half an hour to flip the Z fold screen 90 degrees and offer the Z fold 5.2 in a month. I can't wait. Buy the Pixel now !
I have to disagree about the software. Samsung has too many duplicate apps!! Calendar, messages, phone, and so on. Whenever I get a voicemail I get 2 notifications!! One from Samsung phone dialer and one from Google, which is the default. When I am in my car and it's connected to Bluetooth. If someone calls it goes through the Samsung Phone app!! Soooooo annoying. This is one of the major reason why I switched to the Pixel Fold. All that other stuff I'm sure Google will fix/add with Android 14.
Both phones are nice but the prices of phones keeps getting higher and higher. it won't be long before they are $2500 to #3000 and still no charging brick, headphone jack. Sd card availability. I'd rather have a tablet. Just my opinion
The usable front screen on the fold far outweights any other negative isses it may have over the samsung fold. Its like choosing between two girls, one SUPER beautiful but can't cook or a VERY beautuful one that can.
Seems like pixel just have to do some software updates to have some extra features like the fold 4. I could be wrong. Hardware wise… we’ll have to wait for the pixel fold 2.
Never really use 3 tasks to multi task and I never use my spen. Pixel fold wins for me. Outer screen kills all complaints. I use my outer screen on zf3 93% of the time. Texting is annoying

The pixel is a business phone whereas the Samsung is a media phone. The pixel is a very good phone and more balanced for sure. Only issue is it doesn't open flat. Samsung has a terrible cover display and you'll need to use that quite often for simple tasks and it won't help battery if constantly opening up!
When did bezels became displays? The inner display is at the same level as the Fold 4 or even greater, if you consider the UDC low res pixels. The bezel are big and they made the Pixel Fold look outdated, but big bezels does not mean infirior display.
I am surprised nobody is rotating the Fold 4 into landscape mode to compare it to the pixel fold . It shows that two apps look the same when rotating the screen.
That's not true unless the app supports the wider display. Samsung has a feature to for resize apps that isn't available on pixel

It's pretty clear that Google buys the inner screen from Samsung and that it is the same screen as on the Z Fold 4, just folded differently.
Why don't put the fold 4 in landscape orientation to match the Pixel aspect ratio?
I ♥the comparison. Thank U
Liberty Lol, Happy 4th of July to all from Charles
liber tea...took me a few seconds
Have the fold 4 , thinking to replace it with pixel fold
I look at the gap on the Samsung phones as a pro instead of a con. If there's something hard like a small grain of sand on the screen when you close it, the gap is a good thing 😉
You do have a point. I am thinking that too.
The screens don't touch in either case, but the gap means shit can get in their while closed and bounce around scuffing up the screen.
So much better to know the interior screen is fully protected while closed.
I am already using samsung z fold 4. now is it ok for me? Or Pixel fold is better than samsung z fold 4. I want your advice. Thanks
I have the pixel 7 pro I just wanna know is getting the pixel fold worth it
I honestly think the entire look of the phone ( physical and interface) is better on the pixel fold.
I prefer the interface of the Samsung. But no doubt the Pixel Fold looks better.
@@bad65dadwrong?..he said he thinks ..meaning it's his opinion...his opinion of what he likes is not wrong you dingus
This is basically a video of everything that the Pixel Fold doesn't do when compared to the Samsung fold....
Tensor chip is a hot mess. Runs hot and can’t hang with the speeds and power of the Snapdragon variants. Maybe the Tensor G3 chip will be better with thermal management when they decrease the chip’s nanometer size?
Can you rotate the Fold 4 to watch movies like regular smart phones?
I disagree with your opinion that the inner display is the primary screen that needs the most design attention. After all, these are phones that can operate as tablets and not the other way around. The outer display is far more important imo, and that alone makes the Pixel a better choice for me.
Samsung literally calls the inner screen the "main screen." The cover display is meant for quick interactions. It's a different philosophy from the Chinese foldables like the Pixel Fold, which encourage you to use the outer screen more than the inner. Which begs the question: why get a foldable you won't unfold?
@@myfakeguuglaccount8307 that makes more sense then why Samsung has chosen such an unstable aspect ratio for the outer display
@chandlercruttenden6775 Yes. What's nice is that people have a choice, because both devices are good but offer different things.
Which do you prefer ? Thanks
Still rocking 😎 the fold 2 with all the accessories it came with. Now u get these with ONLY THE PHONE FOR THE SAME PRICE. LOL.
How about a follow up video on the brightness with adaptive brightness on or off on both phones. Disappointed with you Saki
One thing glossed over, there are pixel-exclusive features that draw many users. The lack of samsung bloatware is also a huge plus.
Many of us die-hard pixel users have been holding out for a foldable which also happens to be a pixel. The pix fold is the only one meeting thos criteria.
I'll be looking forward to upcoming videos on the Pixel Fold
Does the Fold 4 have a stylis like the S3 Ultra?
No. It doesn’t come with one. It does support S Pen though, but only on the inside display.
Fold4 definitley superior
Z fold 4 all day long
7:15 you do realize you can enable the task bar to always show on the pixel fold right?
11:24 a brown/red material you theme is obviously darker than a full white theme. next time open something that is white on both phones.
Tensor in my pixel 7 pro gets very hot very quickly and annoyingly they used the same chip for the fold, my fold 4 works a lot better but would be interesting to see the fold in person
Are you from india?
@@IAm-zo1bome? I’m from the UK if you mean me 😂
@@alexstruenorth I asked cuz a lot of people with overheating complaints are from india.
Ah okay no just the UK I don't game on it or anything so I was surprised how hot it gets
1:51 thank you for stating this otherwise we would not have noticed
Regarding the audio, Fold 4 is taking that hands down. It's so much clearer
I like the feel of the pixel a lot more in my hand. I like the competition. I am not ready to get a foldable, but I like where things are going.
Tensor G2 ..WTF were they thinning
But apps like Instagram and Facebook don't work properly on the front screen and the inner screen of the z fold
Faster software updates on the pixel and probably easier to hold, but the fold 4 just has more to offer.Just a shame about the dust filling gap when closed.
Pixel is better on the outside. From my use with the fold, I used the outside much more.
In my opinion Samsung will be better since they’ve done it 4 times going on 5
Think a big difference is that retailers such as Verizon or AT&T will offer the Pixel at a much reduced price with a trade in ( I used an old iPhone 11 ) and get about $900 off making the phone $900 effectively, where as the Z Fold 4 is not doing this ( Fold 5 maybe, have to wait and see )
U can get the fold 4 unlocked as low as 900
Samsung
I'm waiting to see what the OnePlus fold brings to the table if the leaks and renders are true. This looks like the better one of the three
I have the fold 4. I think it's about time to give it the boot and move on to something better.
Samsung software is more optimized and they support OS updates 1year long than google which sealed the deal for me
Never really use 3 tasks to multi task and I never use my spen. Pixel fold wins for me. Outer screen kills all complaints. I use my outer screen on zf3 93% of the time. Texting is annoying
He didn't mentioned about stylus
Samsung any day
Z fold 4 looks modern best phone ever .oled samsung vivd color better than oled tv on leg for sure ipad pro looks very wash out compare to z fold 4 .i wish we had laptop oled 2000 nits and samsung vivd color .
4:41 both max brightness? Pixel lookin pretty bad here.
am I the only one who doesnt care about multi tasking? you can use one app at a time, when youre done minimize it and go to the other open app. im not sure which phone to get butI do love googles software its astehtics and functionalty, but it doesnt have penup. an app i love/ and i thought the fold used the same camera modules as the 7 pro
GALAXY FOLD 4 stylus support /PIXEL FOLD no stylus support
You can keep the dock on pixel fold by switching to 3 button navigation
The pixel is a business phone whereas the Samsung is a media phone. The pixel is a very good phone and more balanced for sure. Only issue is it doesn't open flat. Samsung has a terrible cover display and you'll need to use that quite often for simple tasks and it won't help battery if constantly opening up!
I am waiting for the fold 5 and Pixel fold 2 next year
When did bezels became displays? The inner display is at the same level as the Fold 4 or even greater, if you consider the UDC low res pixels. The bezel are big and they made the Pixel Fold look outdated, but big bezels does not mean infirior display.
