A quick heads-up: the void for the UK-spec mk1 (2012-18) is really awkward, even after meeting my angle grinder. I've found just three sub-£1000 units that will fit, and none of them are particularly spectacular (Kenwood, Sony, Pioneer). From tomorrow, once my new Samsung tablet arrives, I shall be backing-out and refitting the original unit. Also, the Connects2 kit will reconnect the steering-wheel controls, at the expense of loosing the clock and factory fit front and rear parking sensors, so I dumped that as the sensors are more valuable than the controls. The void is sloped such that you need either a half-length double-din, or an L-shaped unit, although with more single-din with screen units coming to market, these would be much better as there is plenty of space beneath the unit for cabling and / or a mini-amplifier. Be aware, only Connects2 make the after-market dash converter, and it's only a double-din hole, they don't yet make a single-din hole, nor do they make a single-din converting plate to cover part of the hole, so you kinda get an ugly view into the space; my wife made a really nice cover to go there. Frankly I only switched so I could get a reversing camera on screen, but have switched my direction instead: use a bluetooth connected 8" tablet, which being Android offers far mor customisation than the terrible aftermarket stereos currently on the market, run free mapping and audio from there hooked into the (equally terrible) Sync2, and then fix the sound with a mini-amp, sub and some really sweet Focals
Hi , great job there! Quick question, did you manage to get the steering wheel remote to work ? I have only managed to get the dual switch button for answer /end call skip track to only do skip track.. wont wotk for telephone function… did you have issues with this? Cheers vee
Hi. I'm not really sure about that one. Customer still has it and never said anything about the phone button not working. To be honest I have had other headunits fitted similar way and as long as I remember 5 out of 10 times the button for phone didn't work any more.
@@gastyle9445 thank you for your helpful reply… yes it seems that dual function skip/answer buttons are not compatible wiyh alot of units.. hey ho! Atb vee
Hi I've got a 2015 transit custom and want to fit my pioneer double din head unit model FH-X720BT do you know what wiring harness adapter I need Thanks
That most likely won't fit. It certainly wouldn't in my 2014 van, even after I angle-grinded the steel dashboard support bar, I eventually went Pioneer AVH-Z7200DAB, but even this at near £700 is shocking
Hello mate. Found your video very handy when fitting my radio. Just a quick question. Sometimes when I turn my aftermarket screen on I have no sound and have to do a reset of the radio for it to work. Have you ever come across something like this?
Hi mate, i have a 2020 transit with the new dashboard, do you know where can I find the wirring? The navigation came with another kind of conection that doesn t fit my car
hi pall,is it any chance to fit sync 2 instead of that or it’s completely different than transit stereo system,i have full kit from 2016 kuga, sync 2,thanks
If you don't have a factory top screen then this it the harness that you need. www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects2-ctsfo015-2-ford-fiesta-transit-2013-steering-wheel-stalk-control-adaptor.html
Can buy them of any audio shop or ebay. It doesn't come with a reverse camera. You need to buy it yourself. This headunit hasn't got sat nav built in but you can get one witch will be like 500 plus for a headunit.
What additional wiring do you need for the newer unit with the separate screen - we have a 2016 transit custom

I'm not 100% sure. Could be 2 different systems.
Could this be done on older vans
Yeah. Just need to buy different headunit adapters and wiring. Depends on the van.
hi mate what about the reverse camera ?
I believe I have a video for dash cam/reverse camera install in this sort of van. Have a look through my channel.
HI chap what connects 2 interface did you use with that head unit pls

No problem. 👌
where do you buy the aftermarket head unit from ?...does it have reversing camera or sat nav also? mine is a 2015 but with the same set up as yours

Great video! How would you route the MIC for the headunit please?
To the drivers side a pillar. Above the steering wheel so it doesn't catch any moving parts.
What head unit did you get. Did it come with the kit
No, headunit doesn't come with the kit. You need to buy it separately
@@gastyle9445 awesome. Looks so much better dont they. These factory radios look like there from 1990s
@@deanaston4538 Oh yeah. Especially when you have a basic setup. Crap.
Captain Chaos. 😂 but nice Job.

Message direct to Dynamicsounds. They will get you the right wiring.
