You know, him and his friend could easily have manipulated whatever system this is to get more diamonds. All they have to do is have Ian give his friend the diamonds, have him ask for more, and then repeat the cycle over and over. But, I guess there wouldn’t be a story if the main characters actually thought things through. 😉
