No one else would achieve what he's achieved in it. McLaren signed him at 12 years old for a reason. Mercedes signed him when the car wasn't so great BTW (Everyone forgets that.) All this is for a reason......Because he's a great driver.
Hamilton has raced now for 13 complete seasons, like the comments say, he's won at every track he has ever raced at, and he has won a race in every season he has partaken in.
Let it sink in that he is a SIX time world champion. His first season he lost out by 1 point, he has said on countless occasions, if he knew what he knows now he would have wrapped that title up in China. So that's easily another notch.
If his reliability hadn't of let him down in Malaysia, he would have made Nico buckle under the pressure and won in 2016 too.
The guy is truly out of this world. To think that whenever he has a car capable of winning the title he does (Or fails because it was his first season or reliability lets him down), and then he wins races and affects the outcome of the championship when his car isn't good enough, Should show all you haters why he is the Greatest Driver of all Time.
Dont exeggerate pls...the GOAT can never be determined. Why ppl never learn. When we are talking about "if if if"...if Schumacher didnt break his leg in 1999 he would most likely have the championship...Brawn assumed the same. What about 2006? No engine blow up in suzuka and no fisichella cutting his tire, he would have the Championship. These if if if are meaningless.

I'm a massive "fanboy" of F1, even from back in my youth with my favourites being 3x champion Nelson Pique and the legend that is Ayrton Senna but this lad Lewis Hamilton is a different breed entirely, I mean to already have 6 world titles to his name and he only 35, scary and for me it's been an absolute privilege for me to watch the greatest F1 ever in history, go about his work

Reflexes and reactions get slower as you approach the age of 40. We can already see that Verstappen and Leclerc are faster than Hamilton and Bottas is really close. The only thing keeping Hamilton ahead of Verstappen and Leclerc is that amazing Mercedes.

I always loved lewis ever since he was in Mclaren and when now i see people talk so much shit on him and how they want see him lose, it makes me sad to see that even now people are still not acknowledging his performance as being one of the best that ever been in an F1 car. I really hope he wins again just to see him on that podium launching his trophy in the air, it's satisfying.
It was plainly obvious to anyone watching F1 in 2007 that this was no ordinary rookie. What he achieved in that first season was proof to the world that they were watching something special unfolding. As his dream to drive in F1 finally became a reality, so was the start of our dream to watch an artist paint a masterpiece. Someone with pure, natural talent take driving to a whole new level. We are all so privileged to have been along for the ride and hey, what a ride it's been. And now, as the media forever debate who is the GOAT, many of us who have shared his journey closely, don’t need to. Of course records are an important factor but being the GOAT is about so much more.
Simply the G. O. A. T 3 Wheels on his car & still finishes first! That's the season over give him the trophy and wait for new season to start!

Everyone of those guys and gals on the Mercedes team should be proud, they are a part of history, something to make a memorbilty chest to show their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
So many haters attempt to discredit his achievements, but all they prove is their own ignorance of the sport its drivers and what it takes to cross the finish line first. Lewis Hamilton has no more on his side than past F1 champions, except his stats measures far above them all. People love to site other drivers as great or greater than Hamilton but until they actually surpass Lewis, is it not all theory and speculation? Lewis accomplishments are indeed facts, as well as the efforts of the teams that aided his accomplishments. No matter how great and capable the car, still no guarantee that the driver will measure up to the challenges and trials one must face to win. It goes beyond simply the car, as the car doesn't drive itself, nor makes the decisions when where and how much to push the envelope. In the end its the driver and his physical and mental capacity that commands the drive to either success or failure. You may not like Lewis Hamilton just as well you may not like facts. And Hamilton has more facts than everyone in the history of F1 save one... Schumacher.
It's interesting to note that Senna did a LOT of dirty driving... deliberately crashing on SEVERAL occasions. Schumy was no saint either. I have never seen Lewis pull any crap like Senna, or Schumy. Hamilton=G.O.A.T.

I have never heard of him before, but my dad showed me his gp2 highlights and I instantly became a fan. then when he overtook Alonso going into turn 1 at Melbourne I couldn't but support him through thick and thin. the rest has been history

Don't get in that fight/flight panic state so easily. What I'm saying is it's too early to even judge Max at least until he's had a capable car, you can't say he's better than Lewis, but neither that he isn't anywhere near in terms of pure raw skill, because again it's too early in his career. It's literally impossible to compare until both careers are done and dusted.
