This celebrated and popular song is a folk song from Naples. It was translated into Italian and published as a Barcarolla or Boat Song. The lyrics celebrate the colourful waterfront of Borgo Santa Lucia, in the Bay of Naples.
The song has been translated into many languages, and it is even the official anthem of a Thai University.
This is a happy piece, and is here arranged for the violin and piano.
