Ouch. "Buying things just because they are on sale." ME!!!! That's totally me!!!
All good tips! Let’s remember that beauty is NOT what you’re wearing! And credit card debt is ugly! Donate what you don’t wear & if you’re going shopping, put the cash that you can spend in your wallet & don’t overspend. You’re never more beautiful than when you’re loving & investing in others 😊
#9 hit me hard. All my life I was a jeans and tee shirt girl. I was comfortable and my body type fits it well. However, the past couple of years I decided to branch out and try all kinds of different *stuff*. But I soon found that I kept going back to the jeans and tee shirts and leaving the *stuff* on the rack after wearing it once or twice. So. . . .it's now back to the tee shirts and jeans. I will just upgrade those two items to a better quality since I now know that is really me.
Nothing wrong with that. You can make a simple tshirt & jeans look great by just going for great quality & fit & adding in stylish pieces like your shoes & accessories.
Dress in your lifestyle was the main point that stuck out to me. I need to purchase more every day things and stop buying all the pretty sweaters and shoes that I wear on Sundays and rare occasions.
So true!
The gray sweater is beautiful
I love the suggestion that if you wouldn't pay full price for an item then skip the sale item. I have also learned to follow items that I would pay full price for but still don't want to. I watch the item as they have sales and mark down the things I like, if they still have my size then I was meant to have it. I have picked up a lot of exceptional things that way. I may not get a whole season of wear that way but it is something I would like to wear next year.
I truly love donating some of my clothing and accessories to a charity call Dress For Success. Great video ladies!
That's a great idea!
Just a suggestion.. find a women's shelter and donate. I promise these ladies will appreciate any clothes, shoes, etc
@@user-yd4yr5hr3s Post on poshmark. It’s very easy and you’ll make someone’s day if you send a thank you note with it.
People like me who are a stay at home mom shop here and there’s also people who overprice things that try to make money so either way it’s a win-win for most people. I love selling there too because I turn around and buy for my family.
Many only take new with tags for some reason. Perhaps they were sick of sorting out the junk clothes?
This video is so good!!! I for one am very guilty of buying things I don't need, just because they are on sale 🙃I will be stopping this bad habit for 2023 ‼✴
So glad you enjoyed it!
Great tip about loving the price tag and not really the item. Am I ever guilty of this... :( Thanks for another great video!
You are so welcome!
Love the new hairstyle Kelli. Thanks for these great tips!
Thanks so much❤️
Love this! Just came home from dropping half my clothes at the thrift store! Love my new, spacious closet!!!
That is awesome!
When I got married back in the day I told my bridesmaids to wear a black dress they already had. I was so tired of buying dumb bridesmaid dresses I couldn't do it to others! Agree on keeping small items- I was in a figure competition and got a pretty dress I love- but I'd have to eat chicken and broccoli for 3 months to get back in it! I'll give it to a smaller friend who would love it more!
Love that! I bet the bridesmaids looked beautiful too!
I’m holding on to my skinny jeans . I’m in a cold environment and they are the best for wearing with winter boots. I did update my other jeans for the spring and summer
They are great for boots!
Cost per wear is something I learned years ago.
I do the hanger trick by putting all the hangers on the rod from back to front and after I wear them I put it back on the hanger front to back as you would normally. This works great!!
Totally agree about getting rid of clothes that don’t fit. Thinking I’m going to loose weight just makes me feel bad. I suggest buying clothes at a second hand shop.
Also get rid of clothes that you have to constantly adjust throughout the day I just rid of two tops and jeans is either pulling up or adjusting because the top was too loose I have a donate basket just for these types of clothes just to get rid of them right away
So true! I hate that.
Ladies, I am guilty of having made all of these mistakes at some point in my life. Great video and tips! Thanks.
We are too!
Love Christina's tip on sale price vs. full price. Good advice.
Glad it was helpful!
LOOve the idea of hanging blouses, etc. all in one direction and rehanging them in the other direction after cleaning. That is a great way to learn what we wear all the time versus those things that we just don't touch much. Great idea!
You are so welcome!
This is a great reminder video! I found myself nodding with every suggestion. One thing that I wanted to add about holding on to maybe a more expensive piece for too long is that you won’t be able to get anything back for it from a resale dealer like Poshmark because it’s past it’s prime!
Great tip!
Kelly, love your haircut! So fresh and light and chic! Christina, I always love your black wardrobes!!❤
I got on the “capsule wardrobe” train and spent a LOT on beautiful classic basics. But I babysit my granddaughters 4 days a week so that great wardrobe, while timeless, never gets worn😅
What a wonderful grandma! Hopefully you can enjoy some of those great pieces on your off days.
I tend to “ save” clothing items for a special occasion ( that never comes). By the time an occasion may come I either don’t like it as much as I thought or it’s I’ll fitting.
Love your comment. I am 59 years old and no longer work. I am also the blue jean t shirts or workout clothes. I continued to purchase fancier clothing and never wear. Like you, I am now back to my true style.
I have been guilty of so many of these things! Thanks for all the great tips 💞
You are so welcome!
The title of this video should be called "reality check ". So many of us buy something just to be
buying something . Most of us have too many clothes
for the type of lifestyle we live.
I really enjoyed this! Practical tips for all. I especially like the ones on getting the closet in shape. I will do a big purge but don’t keep at it routinely. For me, that is the key!
I have so many "that will do for now" items. I have purged so many things that still had tags on!
Guilty guilty guilty! Great reminders! @christine I love the color choices you are wearing. 👍🏼
Thank you so much!
Another great video ladies with lots of practical ideas! I am guilty on several accounts 😍
Glad you like them!
Great tips and reminders. I am guilty of holding on to items I don’t wear anymore because I spent too much when I purchased.
Love your videos.
Thanks for sharing!!
Love the shelter idea we need to help people in need
I love the hanger idea. I’m going to start doing that.
Excellent video 😊. I am the person who buys that special occasion dress for a one time wear! I will never wear it twice 😢
Same🙋🏼♀️
Aloha, ladies another great tips, I'm going to do another "spring cleaning" in my closet and donate some of the clothes that are "one size smaller" than I wear now. Thanks again for the tips.
Just love your videos girls, and look forward to watching them every week!!
Thanks so much 😊
Great tips ladies! This video was so relatable. Love it! Thank you ❤
Both of you look great as always👍
Thanks so much!!
I love your hair..
Great video !! Thanks !!! Can you please make a video about spring basics ?! ❤😊
Absolutely!!
Good morning Christina and Kelli! Bravo 👏🏻…on everything in this video! Thank y’all for bringing these topics to the forefront! Been there, done that and already changing! 💕
You are so welcome!
Kelly your hair looks so cute and fresh 😍💁🏼♀️💁🏼♀️
Your hair looks great mommies!!
Thank you!!
Loved the tip of not buying something because you love the price not the garment-that hit home with me. Your other tips, wow, I think at least half of these are me. Thank you for these reminders.
Glad it was helpful!
Love your haircut!! Elegant and chic, suits you perfectly!
Thank you so much!
Kelly , I like your new hairstyle! I’m at home more & I dress nice everyday just in case that I decide to go run errands but I love looking my best everyday. I dress up my jeans too. When the kids were little I wore dresses & jewelry every day to clean my house in! Lol! I feel best when I dress up! When my kids were older I went back to work. And I dressed up. In summer when working in garden ( afternoons ) I put on more appropriate clothes to get dirty in. Just me. I love fashion. I love my house decorated & clean & I love being with friends & family ! And meeting new people. & I especially love the Lord. I have lots of energy so I don’t mind keeping busy & fashionable! 👏😂
This video was so needed for me right now as I declutter for the New Year! A huge Thank You beautiful ladies! 💋
You are so welcome!
Agreed! It’s hard for me to let go & I’ve run out of space these tips are priceless! If you ever want to help someone declutter consider me😊
Blessings 💕
Great advice. I also like the options y'all have.
Awesome! Thank you!
Love the hair Kelli!!!
I've been watching you lovely ladies for a long time. So I am doing all these tips on a regular basis. Great to reminder 😀
Wonderful!
Your suggestion of switching the hangers is awesome. Thank you for all those tips.
You are so welcome!
Luv shopping so much..i clean my closet out completely ever fall and spring and start from scratch!
Nice! Sounds like fun
I'm trying to stop buying clothes for my future self. I keep buying clothes to aim for which is fine because I'll get there but I want to wear each item at least 5 times once I've reached my goal before I buy anything new. That way I can see what's actually missing from my wardrobe.
Hi ladies, thank you for sharing love all your ideas. Both of you are so cute I just love your vulnerability and style! And Kelly love your new hairdo!
Thank you so much!!
I have a bin of clothes from the 80’s hoping on of my many Granddaughters (2,4,6 & 17) inherent my love of fashion!
Loving your new blonde cut/style!
Thank you 😊
I look forward to ur videos every week, keep making them. You two are the best.
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thanks for all the useful tips ladies. Pink shoes in shelf, where to purchase?
Great tips 👌
Glad you like them!
Great tips and video 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for your suggestions! Very practical. And, I enjoyed your acting skit :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is a great video ladies thank you. Christine love that blk dress on you with the ruffle.
Thank you so much!
Trying new things is great and is important to make decisions based on our body shape because it may not look nice on us. Knowing body shape and what complements is important. We can play with color for variety.
So true!
Goodwill is a money making company. Definitely try local women's shelters, Dress for Success, etc.
Great tips!
Great video
Thanks for the visit
Guilty of all. Transition from office to work from home & still have a closet full of office wear, heels, structured handbags, etc. Live in South Texas & at least 1/2 my clothes are winter weight/style and boots galore - just love the style but pray for a “snow” day or at least in the 60s day. Time to get to decluttering and figure out my “new” more relaxed lifestyle.
Thanks for sharing!!
I need to go through my closet and try some things on. I have lost weight and gotten in shape and I know I have larger e sizes to donate. Also, I am retired and have some more “businessey” things I hope I won’t need again. I have never had clothes tailored to fit better and I can think of a few things I have that could use tailoring; I’m just not sure how to go about it. This was a great video, as usual. Thanks!!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Guilty as charged :)
Good and helpful tips.
Glad it was helpful!
p.s. Kelly, I love your new hair style.
For special occasions, I like rent the runway. I'll look there first and rent a dress for whatever occasion and then I return it. I do have a few nice dresses for nice dinners but for my friend's wedding, it was a weird time of the year and I couldn't find anything wedding appropriate so I rented something, last month for my anniversary I rented a dress, I love doing that, its not always cheaper because the dresses are very nice, lined and good quality, nice designers, but I don't have a bunch of dresses in my closet I'm not using. I wouldn't buy the $300 dress from a designer but I'd totally rent it for $70
Love that idea!
OMG Christina you look amazing in those LBDs!!!
Oh thank you!
Good reminders.
Glad you like them!
Great video! I take some items to a resale shop, some to the local Care Center and some to the Boys and Girls resale shop which is the support for our local Boys and Girls Club. Unfortunately I just love to shop and feel wasteful but as one of my friends pointed out! It’s your way of giving back to the community!
That is awesome!
Kelly, absolutely love the hair! Such a flattering length.❤
Thank you!!
Great video and advice! ❤
Thanks so much!
Love your haircut Kellie!
Thank you!!
I work on a military base and I donate to their spouse’s auxiliary thrift store. Sales benefit activities they host and the military spouses get to find bargains. I’ve found great things there, including new perfumes.
That's wonderful!
I'm guilty of holding on to those items that don't fit..lol.
Oh boy, you hit the one I am guilty of...buying things on sale. Ouch
Kelly your hair is really cute!
Great video ladies, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Yeah… my closet has a few too many great price items.
Like your new haircut for the new year very nice
Thanks!
Hi girls !! Pat from RI. Very good video. Thank you ❤️😊🙂😊
Thanks for watching!
Love your shorter hair Kelly
Solid advice 👍
I follow most of those suggestions. I'm so proud. Ha
Great tips
Glad you think so!
I’ve found I buy clothes for the life I dream of having and not the one I’m really in. Kind of sick, isn’t it?
OMG I totally am guilty of this! What's the deal 🤔
😂I used to do the same thing! Tons of gorgeous sexy heels & blazers when I spend 90 percent of my days running errands & dragging kids around
Kelli, your new hair cut is cute. How do you make the waves look so neat? Why that one piece of bang, just asking?
Thanks so much! I’m thinking I’ll do a beach wavy tutorial over on IG stories. As for the bangs- they kind of have a mind of their own😂
I’ve been here long enough to know that Kelly’s new hair is Kelly’s old hair……😂. Looked good then and now. Great tips ladies!
Lol😂pretty much!
I don't care if people think I've worn something before. I never pay a lot for clothes, I wait for the sales.
Please help me....This is regarding point 1..I am to attend a Hawaian theme party and as I do not have anything tropical in my closet,I have ordered one online( its a maxi dress ).It is not costing a bomb but I know for sure that I will hardly get any use of it in future..What do you suggest?? I thought hard n even thought of buying just a floral shirt instead of buying a maxi dress so that I could wear it with jeans or pants in future...For this theme party I could wear the shirt with solid palazzos and Hawaian slippers... But then again am not sure if a floral shirt, black palazzos n slippers( mine are from Crocs) will fit the theme...Please..if you could help...
That is a tough one. Themed parties may be an exception for sure. I would say short of borrowing something buying something inexpensive or perhaps secondhand is your best option. Good luck!
👍
I love Poshmark! I sell there too ❤
Poshmark rocks! I sell there and Mercari! I totally downsize my Closet at home to my Closets online.🤗
@@alicepirola7077 love that! I’ll have to come find you 😍
So what I do…is I pin things or add to cart/wishlist items I want. And then I decide at what price would I purchase it at. But if it’s not on any list, then I don’t buy it because I know I’m buying it because of the price. If I didn’t like it at the higher price, I shouldn’t like it on sale, either….
So smart!
👏👏
I don’t know bout the special dress not being worth the money. I only wore my wedding dress once.
Well I think that’s a good exception to make😂
