it's wild that people will spend their time hacking ruining the few remaining servers of a game that came out 10 years ago.. what do you possibly have to gain?
My favorite multiplayer game ever, and I played it on Xbox 360. Project Rome is a thing, but it's still mostly just one populated server with bots. Effectively the game died a long time ago and I've made my peace with it. I will actually miss Battlefield 1943 more. It was still very active and I even managed to have a fun session just before it shut down. I don't understand why they never remastered this game. BFBC2 was one of the first games I owned, and used it to play with my friends back in high school. Especially on holidays, like ringing in official Christmas Eve or after the New Years parties died down but we stayed up through the sunrise. Funny, action packed, beautiful scenery/graphics, intense gameplay & of course destructive maps. I played it for 2wks straight before they shut it down. What’s awesome though is my final game: me & a random just teabagging each other & meleeing helicopters, destroying every thing in the map, just pure ridiculous fun you don’t get these days.
Excellent video! Bad Company 2 got me into the Battlefield franchise and is definitely my favourite game in the series. Like you said, Rush feels incredible, destruction was satisfying, and the restrictions placed on movement and gadgets / attachments made the game feel pretty balanced and even tactical at times. It definitely has its problems though, the game is full of sweats now, it's quite sad. I also think the Vietnam DLC never got enough love and attention. Ah, BC2, my first PC FPS experience. I spent many hours playing this at all hours. The sound is still better than any game I've played since. I've actually still got it installed through Steam as I don't play that many different games, even though I haven't played it much for years, so I might look into Project Rome even if I just jump in for a few games. The Bad Company series was really the only playable FPS on console, I squeezed the life out of my PS3 playing BC2, its hands down one of my favorite shooters of all time! At least EA had the decency to announce the delisting of BC2 before it actually happened. Unlike with the classic games where they were just wiped from history one day with not a single official word. Still, delisting digital games then going after alternate means of getting them is a seriously scummy move, especially when you spend the next few years further deleting their history and instructing your tech support team to never acknowledge the older games and deny their existence (yes, EA support will tell you to your face that Battlefield 1942 Vietnam, 2142, and soon BFBC and BFBC2 never existed).
I love BC2. Holds a very special place in my heart. I go between BC2, BF3 and BF1 as "the best" battlefield. I see your argument about less is more too and it leads me to the new game 'The Finals' (from ex BF devs). You can clearly see the inspiration they have taken from their past games and have injected that core design philosophy of 'less is more' and have really stripped back the over complicated weapon/perk list and class system and have decided to go for a more deliberate experience. Definitely encourages teamplay because if for example all your team are snipers you will just fail. I encourage any Battlefield fan (who didn't try it over the last beta period) to do so. It was a lot of fun and brought back so many Battlefeels :,)
Wish I put more time into the game back when it released. Had to play it on my brother's PC because mine was only dual core so was only able to play at certain times when my bro wasn't home. I also miss being able to play Rush :(

I absolutely love BFBC2, which is why I’m really looking forward to The Finals. Check it out, it’s coming out this year! It’s even made by former DICE devs!
I played bc2 in very young age something like age 10 on ps3 and I was one of the best there. After playing several years on bf3 I cane back to bc2 and playing almost until the end.i can tell you that bc2 is better than any battelfield game until today.and I agree with you in everything.
Even though I have extremely fond memories of Battlefield 2 I totally agree, I think BF:BC2 was the best of them. I went into the game looking down my nose at it "Smaller!?" but as it turned out it worked perfectly and allowed console peasants in on the action. The single player was funny, the advertising campaign was great with Queens of the Stone age providing the backing track. The destruction was amazing, the shooting mechanics were great. I loved it and I put so much time into it, I went back to it a year or so ago and you're right it just wasn't the same. I tried BF2042 out of desperation and.... What a tragic awful game. No teamwork, no cohesion. Really truly shows how far the franchise has fallen and how its lost its way.
let me rest the case: bad company 2: buildings are collapsing in a rather natural manner every other battlefield that has destructible environment: buildings are literally falling apart into square sections
I used to destroy everything and turn the map into a moonscape with the automatic grenade launcher in multiplayer. Both the single player and the multiplayer of this game were fantastic.
Could give me a soaring headache like no other for some unexplainable reason (I think it was the sharp contrast/colors or something), but undeniably one of the greatest Battlefield titles, sad to see it go, didn't think they'd close it down. I guess when defechina unlifed gamespy everyone figured it was ok to whack online support as they go, so went downhill from there.
agree on every single word said. PLUS, tbh, one thing i've always felt bad with ever since BF3, is that the devs can't understand how Less is more. BF3 introduced a fuckload of weapons, and i don't mean multiple assault rifles and whatnot, but i mean things like Claymores and that. and yet they felt like they overcrowded the weapon sandbox instead of making it polished.
I've always been of the opinion that Rush has been and always will be a superior game mode to conquest when done right. When the maps and game are tailored around Rush, it plays phenomenally.
remember when BF:BC1 came out on demo. shit was wild. something me, my cousins and friends never seen before. not even an hour in we were doing shit that had the Dice Devs surprised. so much could be destroyed. nothing better then making a trench in a road then applying c4 to tanks that roll over you
I really wish Battlefield would go back to building those sandbox towns with completely destructible environments. Nothing beat running from building to building while tanks control the streets and trying to avoid being spotted and destroyed by artillery and avoiding windows so snipers couldn't see you while clearing rooms in close quarters. Nothing has that level of variety simultaneously in gameplay anymore.
There has never been another Battlefield game that I thought was as good as BC2, the closest there's been to how this one felt was Battlefield 1. I'll miss all the fun I had with Bad Company

Really truly shows how far the franchise has fallen and how its lost its way.
let me rest the case:
bad company 2: buildings are collapsing in a rather natural manner
every other battlefield that has destructible environment: buildings are literally falling apart into square sections
I used to destroy everything and turn the map into a moonscape with the automatic grenade launcher in multiplayer. Both the single player and the multiplayer of this game were fantastic.
Bad Company 2 was the best battlefield. It introduced Destruction physics in Battlefield.
The only downside was max 32 players
bad company 1 introduced destruction physics

Could give me a soaring headache like no other for some unexplainable reason (I think it was the sharp contrast/colors or something), but undeniably one of the greatest Battlefield titles, sad to see it go, didn't think they'd close it down.
I guess when defechina unlifed gamespy everyone figured it was ok to whack online support as they go, so went downhill from there.
BC2 vs 2042 .. how far we have fallen 😢
I use the xm8 in 2042 and get lots of kills as the iron sights just give me confidence, the placebo is real
agree on every single word said.
BC2 and BF3 where peak Battlefield for me.
Bad company 2 servers are already down on Xbox☹️ I played my final game Wednesday after work.
Bad company 3 must happen👌
remember when BF:BC1 came out on demo. shit was wild. something me, my cousins and friends never seen before. not even an hour in we were doing shit that had the Dice Devs surprised. so much could be destroyed. nothing better then making a trench in a road then applying c4 to tanks that roll over you
I really wish Battlefield would go back to building those sandbox towns with completely destructible environments. Nothing beat running from building to building while tanks control the streets and trying to avoid being spotted and destroyed by artillery and avoiding windows so snipers couldn't see you while clearing rooms in close quarters. Nothing has that level of variety simultaneously in gameplay anymore.
Need a BC2 + BF3 Hybrid...
Still waiting...
End? I'm still playing it on Project Rome currently
There has never been another Battlefield game that I thought was as good as BC2, the closest there's been to how this one felt was Battlefield 1. I'll miss all the fun I had with Bad Company
Battlefield 3 is my favorite in the series.
But Bad Company 2 is by far the most fun multiplayer shooter I've ever played.
to everyone who I sniped back in 2013 playing this game, It was my pleasure.
