That had to be absolutely amazing and insane, marching straight forward onto enemy in the iron rain, with blasts of the soil to the right and to the left, to the accompaniment of this song.

The drums and fifes were the only thing keeping the formation intact. They were the signallers and laid a foundation for the soldiers to march in step to.

Je cherche les sources qui concernant l'armee de Turenne et je ne trouve rien. Est-ce tu connais quelque livres que je peux regarder?

@@danemon8423 oui, il y avait une marche compose' pour son regiment par Lully. Peut-etre Guy Ruin veut dire que c'est une marche que les soldats de Turenne (ou de son temps) ont utilise?

Très belle performance du pupitre des fifres, malheureusement les tambours sont trop bruyants et surtout trop métalliques à mon avis. La batterie gagnerait en utilisant des tambours dits gallois, ceux qu'on entend précisément dans Barry Lindon.
