I'm a former high school science teacher. In the 21'-22' school year I had a male student that identified as a female. Being a science minded individual and a rational human being, I refused to participate in his delusion. He did everything he could to get me fired. It didn't work but it definitely made my life uncomfortable. One day some student made a comment about men getting pregnant to which I replied "That's ridiculous, men can't get pregnant. It's a biological impossibility." At this point a female student came charging at me from across the room and got in my face and started screaming "TRANSPHOBE" with spit flying out of her mouth. She was completely unhinged. The girl that made the comment about men getting pregnant told me I was going to get fired. Public schools have become free range psychiatric hospitals.
On a related note, I am now a member of the cancelled community. For some context, I was a member of r/teachers on Reddit. When Jessica's story broke about winning her law suit, I posted it and said something to the effect that this was a big win for sanity and the truth. Within an hour I received all kinds of hateful replies telling me what a horrbile person I was and that I was an awful teacher and transphobic, etc. Shortly after that I received a notification on Reddit that I was permanently banned from r/teachers. This has become a modern day version of the Salem Witch Trials.
I'm not really religious, but I applaud Jessica for standing up what she believes in. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to put everything on the line for your beliefs and values. We need more people like Jessica and I mean a lot more to stomp out this ultimate wickidness and ultimate stupidity. The silent majority needs to become the vocal majority.
The transwomen (men) want to tell you what comes out of your mouth now trans lesbians (again men) want to tell you what goes in your mouth .🍆

In the 34 years I was in the classroom, I never had an employer order me to lie to the parents. The fact that school administrators have sold their souls to an agenda that requires them to lie to parents is beyond insanity.

I am a public school teacher and the number of trans kids has increased each year. I teach 6th grade and I had a girl trying to have everyone call her a boy (the school tells the teachers “just do what the child says” in reference to pronouns) BUT I knew this was straight up wrong, and that her mom should know. So I told the mom, and my heart is CLEAR, and I know it was the right thing to do.

Her specific reasons for opposing her administration’s requirements was religious. That’s an excellent reason to say one is opposing for religious beliefs. That doesn’t take away an atheist’s opportunity to state different reasons for their own opposition.

Getting religion out of schools is a good thing. Bibles and prayer in schools is literally indoctrination of students, and is no better than what the trans pushers are doing. Allowing teachers to teach it violates the first ammendment.

One cannot be fired for their religious beliefs, as long as they're obeying the law and not violating the constitution (which they WERE doing 70 years ago).

Hey, I'm also an atheist, pro-choice (within reasonable timeframes, unlike most of the left), I was even pro gay marriage until I saw the results on the kids. I sort of became an atheist because I felt that there was no good argument or proof for miracles, and why should I have to live my life as if miracles were true? For some time, everything was fine, but then, the far left seems to be far more delusional than the evangelicals now. I'm expected to pretend not to be able to tell that a man in a dress isn't a woman, or I'll be fired or mistreated. At least if I didn't pretend someone walked on water, they'd just try to convince me, not harm me.

Here's an example, the divorce rate in the church is reasonably close to the divorce rate out of the church... you see cheating, lying, families ripped apart, judgment... imagine that God was a 50 foot giant who lived down the street from you, and you could hear his feet thumping and see his head and shoulders as he paced when you were working your garden. With me? If you promised that 50' giant that you'd stay married, would you then go on to find any validation or biblical loophole to use as an excuse to get a divorce? Tons and tons and tons of women in the church make up reasons for a divorce, usually because they had an affair, and tons and tons of guys in the church were quick to take them up on it... these are not the actions of people who actually believe in God. As an atheist, why don't I cheat on my wife? Because, I've BEEN HURT, and I know how it feels to be betrayed, so I care about her, and I'd never want to inflict that harm on her. That's how I make good, not evil decisions, by trying, best I can, to help people, not harm them. People can trust me, because I try to live up to a standard where I do what I say, and try to do good rather than harm... the friends I have trust me more than they trust people sitting next to them in a pew in many cases. Some people in a church are great, but a lot of them will let you down, and it's probably a similar percentage... my advice to believers who want to be convincing is this: Start living as if you believe, for real, that God is AT LEAST a 50' giant who lives down the street. Most people don't make choices as if they really believe.

When a person declares their Pronouns, they are lying.
Those are NOT their Pronouns. They are Alternate Proper Names.
A Pronoun is a device used by a person to describe the subject to another person.
Therefore, Communication dictates that The Speaker and The Listener have understanding of what is being said, but the Subject is not involved what-so-ever. Forcing someone to use YOUR pronouns is telling that someone that you may only be referred to by your Proper Name or your Alternate Proper Name, and rational people are not permitted to use REAL pronouns if referring to you.
For reals, I remember pronouns having a different meaning back in the 90s English classes

Let's be clear, shall we? This is NOT a religious issue. I'm an atheist and come down strongly on Riley's side and on Jessica's side. This is about a basic freedom, and about teaching kids what had always been taught in schools, and not giving in to the woke mind virus. One need not be Christian to see it as a bad thing.
The idea that they let students effectively be in charge and make demands of instructors and administrators is insane. They are minor children if they're in K-12. They are being trained to bully by impotent ideologues who run these schools. Who will hire them since they'll do nothing but cause trouble making endless demands?
Are there _Muslim_ teachers in CA who are asking for accommodation when it comes to not wanting to lie to the parents or uphold radical policies, etc.? If so, are those teachers held to the same rigid standard as non-Muslim teachers? Or do they get preferential (or should I say, "deferential") treatment so they don't have to use students' preferred pronouns or hide info from parents? Just curious.

It would be better had this gone to trial and a Judgement from the court, as that would have been effective against all of the school districts in California for both the 1st Amendment Violations as well as the 5th Amendment Violations during the Cross Examination on her religious beliefs. They are still free to continue the abuses because it was a Settlement rather than a Judgement.

I was a public school teacher with 28 years. I spoke out on the news against the v@x. Suddenly, I was accused of using racial slurs in the classroom. The Holy Spirit said to me RESIGN! We just cannot wake up in the morning and say that now a cat is no longer know as such but from now on it is call a cow. This is delusion and our public school have become psychiatric hospitals in the making.
So what if a teacher is non-religious? As a non-religious teacher that believes in common sense, freedom of speech, freedom of belief, and believes that the transgender push is extremely detrimental to youth do I not have the same protection because I can’t claim a religious exemption?
im in the same position at a university. But I'm in Canada. No chance I would win. The law allows them to do this kind of thing. So unless I want to lose the house ....I have to shut up. Can't wait to retire. My children are getting indoctrinated by their own school. PRIDE flags outside the Catholic schools. What is going on?

Wish teachers in Jessica’s position didn’t have to give up teaching in public schools. Those students are greatly disenfranchised. She obviously is a great teacher. Her children are fortunate though!

There needs to be a law passed immediately that states if you're a "woke" teacher. Then you get your license revoked and not allowed anywhere near a school or children.

Sorry for her ordeal but it was the Taxpayer that was punished by having to pay the settlement.
But it’s the tax payers sitting on their bums allowing this to happen. It’s that simple. I write 91A’s all the time for the legal fees incurred by my district have been doing it for years. Most of those legal fees are my district fighting parents.
And what would happen if someone reported a coach for playing vulgar rap music in the gym? I've been subjected to some absolute filth while I'm getting my nails done & it's particularly uncomfortable when there are kids in the salon! Complain about rap & you are "knocking black culture", so I'm told!
