Loved your video. I stayed at this resort in 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I upgraded to a junior suite and had no regrets. The food was amazing, in my opinion. I’ve stayed at another hotel in DR and found the food to be better at Barcelo. They had a Dominican section at the buffets and I appreciated that because that’s what I wanted to experience on my trip. Other resorts do more “general” food but I can get that where I live.

Hi Nelson, the lobby is massive and spectacular. It provides quick access to everything you want at the resort. The restaurants, the theatre, the beach out front, the waterparks out back and there is even a shopping centre on the lower level. Have you ever been to Barcelo Bavaro Palace?

Thanks for watching Carlos. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love visiting amazing resorts and cruise ships and making these videos. I found YT videos so helpful to me before I got into the travel business so this is my way to pay it forward.
I love this resort! Been there several times. There is Wi-fi at the beach close to the hotel if you decide to listen to music on your cell phone. Make sure you ask the concierge what is the password. I believe per room they allow 2 users to use the Wi-Fi but I maybe mistaken. Wake up early in the morning and walk to the beach with some clothes as it is bit cold and breezy. Find a beach bed and wait for the sun rise over the horizon. It a beautiful view. After you finish, walk to the buffet and have breakfast as they are open early.
Tip: when you get there at the beginning of your stay, head to the con·cierge and make reservation in advance for your a la carte restaurants. Take a tour in the train to see the other part of the resort. During early in the pandemic in March 2020, when the local president announced a closure of all the airports in DR, the staff was kind enough to help us call the airlines so we can book a flight out. As always, please be kind to the staff as they work very hard.

I loved this resort I can't wait to go back. This video is great quality, most of the time I get motion sickness with resort videos because of the crazy and jerky camera but not with yours.
Was this during covid? How is the resort experience with all the new regulations? I haven't tried to travel because of covid but I really need a break! Again great video, brings back great memories.

I also dislike the bouncy, shaky resort tour videos you find here and I wanted to improve that for others to enjoy. This video was shot back in March (2020) just before COVID-19 seemingly shut the world down. The resort is open and has put in place some fantastic policies and procedures to protect employees and guests. Feel free to email me and I can share a bit more about what their doing.

I just came back from the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. It was amazing. However, due to covid, getting through the airports was a bit stressful, but once you arrived at the palace the regulations were minimal. You're required to wear a mask in the buffet and restaurants, but that is pretty much it. You do have to get a covid test 72 hours before you leave. They offer 2 different tests. We chose the more expensive test and were in and out relatively quick. I'd recommend this trip to anyone...there is so many different cultures at the resort and that was probably my favorite part of the trip. I do not get that kind of diversity in Iowa. Lol.

@@SunnySouthVacations We probably spent most of our time at the pool. We did walk the beach quite a bit though. We visited a market right off the beach. It was definitely an experience. There were a variety of different things to shop for and it was very interesting. The shop owners were generous with their prices...or at least they tell you that ;)
We went on a snorkeling excursion, which was nothing like what we expected, but still turned out to be a good time. The snorkeling excursion was more like a party boat with music and dancing.
@@aguest6346 the pool is quite lovely with those fountains near the pool bar area. I loved the beach though, and you're right, you could walk that beach for miles. So glad you had a great time.

Hi, love the videos of the resort and Junior Suite! I'm heading to this resort in August with the hubby and daughter. What are some fun things my 16 year old would enjoy doing at the resort besides hanging out at the pool and the beach?
Does this resort offer their guests outside trips, like a visit to the mall?
Also, do I need to make online reservations for the restaurants or is that done in person at check-in?
BlueEyes Zee, thank you for watching my Barcelo Bavaro Palace videos and your question. There is a lot to do at the resort that you your 16 year old may enjoy. There is the typical non-motorized water activities (hobie cats etc) there is also a gym, tennis courts, beach volleyball, aerobics but there are also some other great activates. The resort has it's own mall which is on the lower level of the main lobby. There is a bowling alley and arcade as well as an Escape Room experience (those cost extra). They do also offer excursion opportunities which you're able to check out and book in destination. Lastly, restaurant reservations must be made at the resort unless you are staying in a Premium Level room. If you are, you can reach out to the premium level concierge in advance. Hi Bittersweet, thanks for watching and I do apologize that the buffets were an area of the resort I wasn't able to film in my short visit to the resort. I ate there a couple of time and thought the food quality was comparable to some of the other high-end resorts I've been to in the past. That said, food quality is such a subjective part of travel regardless of where you travel. One person may say it was the best they've ever had and other may say it was terrible. The good thing about Barcelo Bavaro Palace is that they have two buffets and multiple specialty restaurants so if you don't like the food at one venue there are others you can visit. They are coin operated similar to what you'd like in bars across North America. The bowling alley does also cost extra. Entertainment at this resort and all resorts for that matter has been impacted by the pandemic That said, as the situation slowly improves those services should start to return but there is no timeline so I couldn't tell you what it will be like in September. So if you book at the family duplex room do you have access to the main pool area by the beach and minbar and restaurants?
Hi @shannondenise48 this is a fantastic question. Yes, if you book a family duplex you have full access to the entire resort including the main pools, beach, bars and restaurants. The family duplex rooms just happen to be located back from the ocean near the golf course along with the superior room. Kinda bumbed that you actually went into the Bowling alley, and NOT into the Casino, so I could see how old the slots are ..LOL..

The slot machines looked to be in good condition. Couldn’t tell you if they were newer games though. Hope this helps.

Hi Yogi, thank you for stopping by the channel and watching my Barcelo Bavaro Palace video. The one you watched was from 2020. Did you happen to see my most recent one from 2022? I'll include the link below. It is a much more thorough tour of the resort. I don't buy into the star rating system too much because it isn't regulated by any type of authority. I find resorts, resort chains and websites hand out these rating somewhat arbitrarily. To me, this resort should be highly rated. The facilities are well maintained including rooms, pools, the beach, restaurants and all other public areas. The food quality was above average for an all-inclusive resort that serves upwards of 10,000 meals a day. Good variety of food as well. Will your kids have fun? That depends, do they like pools, waterparks, arcades, bowling, mini-golf, all you can eat soft serve and the beach? If so, they should have a ton of fun. Again, check out my latest video tour of the resort which showcases everything I mentioned above and has a longer look at those waterparks. The waterparks are towards the end of the video. Do they water activities like parasailing?

Yes, they do offer a ton of water activities. Non-motorized are included. Parasailing was available at an additional charge. I don't recall what the cost was but it is subject to change. Is there a gameroom, like arcades, in the resort

The Barcelo Bavaro Palace is an all-ages resort while the Barcelo Bavaro Beach is the adults only resort. Yes, you're right that there is a lack of shade on the beach. Unfortunately, it gets quite windy down there so umbrellas wouldn't work. I wish they did have palapas but there are palm trees. ImWolfyYT, great question and thanks for watching. I'm going to drop a list of as many activities as I can below but there really is too many too many to list them all.
- all non-motorized watersports (kayaks, snorkeling, hobie cats, aqua bikes etc)

Hi Albert. Great question. Yes, the arcade and bowling is an extra fee. Prices may have changed but when I was there last they were $15 US per person per game for bowling. They use tokens for the arcade and those range in price depending on how many you purchase. Hi Favian, that's another great question. All-inclusive refers to your food and beverages being included. It is common for resorts to offer other services for a fee such as the spa, golf and in this case arcade/bowling.
are all 3 hotels on their website essentially one large complex?
Hi Jordan, there are two hotels that make up Barcelo Punta Cana. The family friendly Barcelo Bavaro Palace and the adult only Barcelo Bavaro Beach. The Palace hotel/resort has some buildings set back from the ocean which can often make it look like their are many more hotels. @@SunnySouthVacations Yes that is correct, i mixed this resort up with the Grand Palladium! Maybe you can help me out further. I'm looking to stay at an all inclusive in Punta Cana with my main ting. Soft budget is about $400 a night for a hotel. We need a resort with really great restaurants (that are open during covid), that is one of the main things we're looking for. Is Hard Rock too big and will it be too crowded in the summer? Would we be better of at Bavaro or Grand Palladium. Other things we're curious about how they compare are the casinos, is premium liquor available, do rooms come with hottubs, how many pools/swim up bars, how nice is the beach, is there watersports currently available? Any and all help on which of these 3 resorts, or any others that come to mind, is greatly appreciated!

Does the resort offer taxi services
Hi Marwa, thanks for watching and for the good question about transportation. You could take a private taxi offered by a local company or use the transportation service offered by the resort. It does cost extra but at least it's all arranged by the resort. The company is called Vacaciones Barcelo. I hope that helps.
Good for single travelers?
Hi Extra Mir, thanks for watching. Is it good for single travelers? That depends on what type of experience you want at the resort. If you're looking for laid back with some action but not over the top then yes it could be good but I don't think you're going to find many other singles at the resort. Hi Lana, they do have a beautiful big theatre and there was an evening show each night. The lobby bar, Carey, has a beautiful piano and player each evening and so does the Black Jack Bar adjacent to the casino. Adults are also welcome to venture over (easy walk, same property) to the neighbouring adult only resort (Barcelo Bavaro Beach). Hi Brittany, thanks for watching. I was at the resort March 4 to 7, just before the world seemingly shutdown. I had some other videos to release before this one hence the delay. Have you been to Barcelo Bavaro Palace before? Do you have any questions about the resort that I could answer?
I haven’t! We’re scheduled to go in a few weeks but I’ve read a couple reviews from the past few days to not go because everything is closed and staff is overworked and rude so I’m debating going :(
Hi Brittany, I've always relayed to my clients that the decision to travel is a personal decision. Each person and family is different and what's important to one isn't necessarily as important to the other. The resort just reopened earlier this month and I suspect it's going to take them some time to adjust to the new normal. I wish you the best of luck in making the best decision for your family on whether to travel or not. Thanks again for watching.

What is the WiFi situation? :)
Hi MILLK, great question. Up until recently, WiFi was only included with Premium Level rooms but its now included for everyone staying at the resort. Its strongest in your room and in common areas such as the lobby but I found it good enough to do some basic things like check email and cruise social media while on the beach or at the pool. Are you planning a vacation there sometime soon? If so, what drew you to Barcelo Bavaro Palace?

@@happinesssomewhere18 another good question. You could, provided your mobile phone has duel sim capabilities. Another great option to consider would be purchasing your own global wifi hot spot device such as a Sky Roam. You can rent or purchase the device and from there you have a few options for purchasing your data. I have a Sky Roam and used it at this resort and it worked fantastically well. I used their daily global wifi pass which costs about $9 USD per day. Hope that helped and please consider subscribing if you haven't already. It supports the channel and ensures you're the first to see new videos when released.

Tesla, I completely agree. I'm not a fan of those who wake up early, drop a towel on a chair and head back to their room for a few hours. That said, I'm sure there are some people who are up that early and perhaps are in the ocean or have gone to grab a quick snack. Either way, chair hogging is not OK. Quick question Tesla, what brought you to the channel and why the Barcelo video? Are you going or have you already gone?

Travel agents are a valuable resource for all travel especially during these unpredictable times.
