I was in Mostar visiting Bosnia🇧🇦 , my home country. And there were some random dudes on the bridge asking for money to jump off and one guy gave him five or ten marks and he had to put water on his body first in order to jump. It was so cool to watch!
a fall from a height of 27 meters takes 2.4 seconds, a jump from a height of 44 meters takes 3 seconds, it is unlikely that anyone would jump from such a height as in the past when high divers were not even afraid to jump from 30-40 meters
@@EditingIsFun_1 Thats not the correct formula. I am pretty sure you are fimiliar with Y=Y0+V0t-gt²/2 Now consider Y-Y0=-H( in our case 27meters=H) and V0=0---> 2H/g=t² hence you can get the value of t. Pay attention that this is not a deep explanantion but just a bried one.
I live in a retirement town that during the summer its packed with tourist that come to camp and take boats and jetskis on our massive Lake. But growing up here we would go jump off bluffs everyday. And one of the bluffs we always talked about jumping was way to big of a jump, like ridiculously big. but one day after a few beers we ended up climbing and scaling up the side of this bluff. When we finally got to the top we sat and enjoyed the few but that jump was vicious, i messed up when i jumped and thank god we had more of our friends waiting for us below in a boat because i came down so fast that if i would have been tilted back a few more inches i would have broke my back or neck. It nearly knocked me out on impact and hurt so bad but thankfully i just received a concussion, because i easily could have died. Never jumped bluffs again after that lol.
When they reach the water, do they have something to close their nostrils to prevent water from getting inside or do they release oxygen through their nose and then swim back up to the surface?
i am scared of diving especially from up high. i sometimes wonder if ill even survive jumping from a cliff into water if i have to escape and it's my only way out. what is worse is that you are falling fast, and you will have a lot of impact to the water going in (i liked to point my toes when i jumped off a highdive as a kid). and what's next is slowing down in the water and getting out safely. these people are so awesome!
According to physics s=ut+(at^2)/2 So by solving the equation, the time comes out to be 2.3237, which is far away from 3 So you cannot approximate it to 3 Anyways nice video
Lol for those who are curious, if gravity were a supercar, it would go from 0 - 60 mph in 2.73 seconds which is kinda slow by today's supercar standards 🤔
You cant really go too much higher than this, without massive risk , i jumped off about half this height and i promise when my feet hit the water it was like someone hitting the soles of my feet with a plank of wood ,
Have you seen that Scandinavian woman do 'death dives?' She goes quite a bit higher. She jumps off in belly-flop mode, then breaks the surface tension at the very last moment. It is insane.
Much love to Mollyfish (my Fave) Please take care of yourself. How are Granny & Papa? Still in remission, I hope. Prayers for all from California High Desert USA😅
The diver has the same acceleration as a McLaren 600lt, diver accelerates at a speed of 9.8m/s^2 the McLaren accelerates at about the same speed, so essentially the diver has a 0-100kph speed of 2.8 seconds
The acceleration of the diver is 9.8m/s^2 (earth’s gravitational constant). The fastest car goes from 0 to 100km/h (27.8m/s) in 2.9 seconds. a = Δv/Δt a = 27.8/2.9=9.6m/s^2 That means the divers acceleration is bigger than that of the fastest car!
First of all, 2.9 seconds from 0-100 km/h is way too slow. These days it's more like 2 s. Also, your calculation is wrong because it calculates average acceleration instead of peak acceleration. Acceleration due to gravity is constant, wheras the acceleration of a car is not.
They don’t go through 56 mph to zero, it’s a gradual finish at declining and speed but it’s certainly not like hitting pavement that would be true zero. Can’t stand it when people try to talk like you’re a smart engineer when they aren’t
The diver only accelerates as fast as a supercar if you count dropping the super car into free fall. Then the diver and supercar will both accelerate at 32.2 ft/s^2. Otherwise, the diver accelerates at around half the rate of a supercar.
The amount of control is just insanity.....imagine an accidental belly flop

Actually the diver accelerates at -9.81 MS^-2 sooo it would only be as fast as a supercar if you dropped them both
Was about to point this out myself
Most supercars can accelerate at 1G, it was a dumb statement anyway
Would accelerate as fast as a tortoise when dropped as well.

The acceleration of the diver is 9.8m/s^2 (earth’s gravitational constant). The fastest car goes from 0 to 100km/h (27.8m/s) in 2.9 seconds.
a = Δv/Δt

What happens if they aren’t at a pencil dive angle when they hit the water. Like if they accidentally spin to much and are wrong?
