I know it wasn’t planned, but it was such perfect sitcom timing for Mr Tuvwxyz to barge in while Sue had the cucumbers on her eyes. Everything about that moment was perfect.
After how Alex treated Sue and Susan (indicating the ‘do not disturb’ sign and snapping “can’t you read”) he richly deserved the trio’s service (hanging around his room, getting into bed with him)
Major props to Alex and Sue for holding it together during Susan’s marble-and-fork induced laughing fit, that had me hysterical just through a screen let alone witnessing it in person 😂
Of all the madness of the show, I don't think anybody could have predicted that some forks is what would absolutely break a human being. She's just completely beyond reason at that point, absolutely shattered and unable to carry on, because she saw some silverware in a suitcase.
@guaposneeze to be fair to Susan, I think it was just the pure insanity of everything being put together. Seeing forks and marbles mixed together while they’re in a suitcase, while being berated by a demanding "customer" wearing a tiny bathrobe, while you’re both standing in what is basically a shed, all in the hopes of pleasing a man she had never met before just to possibly get high points, had to have been a surreal moment lol.
How Susan blinks when Alex Spells "Tuvwxyz", that split second. Is absolutely golden. Because she suddenly realises "i know what's going on here, are you serious, don't laugh, don't laugh".
Rada for the win yet again. Right at the beginning where Sue starts explaining why she thought that Alex was Mr Yoghurt, Susan interrupts with a simple "our mistake sir". She understands that this is a play, and that Alex is a character that is a hotel guest who's name isn't Mr Yoghurt, and so a hotel employee should just be promptly apologetic and move on. From that moment they were on fire and stayed in character pretty much the whole time. Even the "running a business is bullshit" line sounded more like someone running a hotel being thoroughly frustrated with an insane guest rather than breaking character. Of course the others did theatre as well, but nowhere near as realistic character work as Ms Rada.
the quick "oh okay!" when Sue put the cucumbers on her eyes was both an example of the "yes, and" approach and completely believable as an affable person's response to a coworker doing that
That's also such a "real" moment of working in a service job. Taking those seconds to relax when you think you finally have a few minutes and then it's immediately interrupted.
Like a petulant child. 😂 Alex's comedy on Taskmaster is so subtle, playing the straight man trope is always harder than outward cracking jokes like most contestants but he's SO good!
Remember, moments like the mentioned one can be re-done later when they checked the master (recording) and feel, "it would be nice if Alex delivered that line more dry".

I love watching the juxtaposition of seeing the Susans vs the team of 3 this season. This was the task that highlighted their differences the most, I think.
I could just watch the Sue's forever and ever. Series 16 was pure Taskmaster perfection, every single person was pulling their weight and was absolutely hilarious in their own right.
This needs to be a thing, moving forward. Sue and Susan continuing to work together, because I could watch them do anything but also, the Taskmaster hotel. It’s hilarious

wait it just clicked on rewatching that those fun dungarees weren't ones that Susan had found or had brought spare... she gave him the CLOTHES OFF HER BACK truly next-level service
Contestants usually have at least one other identical spare outfit (i.e. Sarah Millican had a second dress that she made Alex wear), so I wonder why Susan just took her dungarees off, could just be for comedy ig

And Jo Brand and David Baddiel ! I mean as mean a Hot Cucumber sandwich Sue made... I just can't see the Sues warming up the sausages and the butter in the microwave to make it easier to spread... But now that's all I want to see !
@@hp8685 I'd Love Last of the Summer Wine, Jo Brand and David Baddeil ! Jessica Knappett and Keri Godliman ? Team Funk, Alice Levine and Russell Howard ? Aryan twins, Rob Beckett and Sara Pascoe ? Alan Davies and Victoria Coren-Mitchell ? Lee Mack and Mike Wozniak ?
So excited to see an extended version of such a great task!! I would love to see a whole sitcom about a hotel with a cast of staff based on this season's contestants. The Sues actually working competently with positive energy, Lucy and Sam causing utter chaos, and Julian the jaded employee who's been there too long to care
Please do this task on a future series, but with Greg as the guest!
Oh gosh, this makes me want them to the task- and then any TM savvy contestants would be focused on pleasing Alex- when a second guest walks in..
@@krablordThat's a fantastic idea!
@@krablord This is such a great idea!
I don't think it would work as well with The Taskmaster's demeanor.
@@krablordI would've thought TM savvy contestants would know to irk AH at any given opportunity as there's a good chance there'll be bonus points in it from GD.
I love the Twosans so much in this. Reminds me that the only thing that kept me sane on reception was a friend beside me. The cucumber moments reminds me of letting our guard down joking before a guest comes to the desk
I've just realised at 2:41 Susan is trying to remind Sue about the glass of milk but can't get it out past the forks and marbles induced hysterics 😂
this has got to be one of my favorite tasks ever! Sue and Susan are just such a wholesome team I love it
"I prefer *Alex*."
Dripping with sass, Susan. Lovely!
I actually woke my parents up because I broke into hysterical laughter watching this task
2:27 for Susan W being absolutely perplexed at the forks in the suitcase and turning into a laughing policeman 😂😂😂😂
Best task of series 16, and one of my all time favourites from the entire show.
So happy to be getting the extended versions!
Susan's childlike glee over the forks and marbles is absolutely delightful.
i didnt see any glee, she was in shock and laughing. then again i dont infantilise grown adults so i wouldnt see child like glee in anyone
@@ThePurpleCheesecakeZebra I feel bad for anyone who doesn't have some childlike glee in their life, even as an adult. I'm 39 and get lots of it while watching Taskmaster.
I love the Sues, this is the most endearing thing I've seen in Taskmaster
I really hope we see this task or some form of it return in the next season. This is one of my all-time favorites and it's as close to a perfect task as you can get - it's a fantastic test of speed, creativity and problem solving.
If the Suetel doesn't open by the end of Summer season '25, they've definitely missed a trick.
There's something just all-encompasingly surreal about this task, the way this team carried it out, and the way it was edited together!
The timing of Sue covering her eyes with cucumbers to let off some steam RIGHT BEFORE Qrs Tuvwxyz walks in... it's the best thing I've ever seen.
Also, kudos to her for those cucumber-chopping skills! 10/10, would eat that warm cucumber sandwich.
We need a Sue and Susan show. I don't know what or how, but we need one.
Love the little moment from 4:00 where you can hear the camera person wheezing as Sue answers the phone
the "could you not read" would have switched me from susan to julian asap lmaooo as someone whos worked fast food it just awoke that demon only working w customes can create ahdkshfk
It makes me so happy that we got an extended version of that task. I really loved it!
This was such a great task to watch last night! I really loved the contrast between both teams hahaha
Now that we have an extended _Taskmaster Hotel,_ I wonder if it's still possible to go further and extend _Susan's Surreal Suitcase Meltdown._
This was truly one of the best tasks there's ever been. Incredible that we're still able to say that after 16 series.
I know this is the extended version of the task but I would GLADLY watch the full 30 minute stay at the Taskmaster hotel. It’s one of the ideas which is so simultaneously inventive and yet I still think ‘How have they not done this before?’ Now I’m just waiting for the ‘S&S B&B’, which is Sue & Susan’s Bed & Breakfast.
wait it just clicked on rewatching that those fun dungarees weren't ones that Susan had found or had brought spare... she gave him the CLOTHES OFF HER BACK
truly next-level service
Sue told him they were still warm because they were freshly laundered 😂
@@claudiamueller5475 OHH was that a joke because it was actually warm due to body heat??
I am so sure and was laughcrying
Contestants usually have at least one other identical spare outfit (i.e. Sarah Millican had a second dress that she made Alex wear), so I wonder why Susan just took her dungarees off, could just be for comedy ig
@@iliketrains3495 that's a fun bit of behind-the-scenes info! like Fern Brady might've commissioned TWO of that getup? sick (positive)
It just hit me how much this reminds me of playing pretend when you're a kid lmao
By far, the BEST team task ever! I hollered during both teams but “The Sue’s” genuine earnestness along with their honest emotional responses (Susan’s laughter rendering her immobile) was delightful and gave me many “lolz”! I would love to hear/watch a “Director’sCut”. Let’s cheer the world-class editors for panning out the comic gold for us to enjoy!
This was such a straightforward task but I think it might be one of my favourites!! I love the Sues working together in hospitality
genuinely the best duo ive seen on taskmaster, i love them both so much ❤
