Oh I so wanted to spend time there a few yrs ago, when I took a load that way!! Was told by other company drivers I would be in Vegas for a week before I got anything, so the night before delivery, I'm looking for somewhere to camp for the weekend, and low & below, they sent me a load to pick up after I deliver, not even a mile away!! So disappointing not getting to check anything out!! And now I see it's so so beautiful!! Happy for you!! Getting to see places through your eyes!!!

About your last video, your excellent camera smoothed out the view so it appeared to be only steep. But if you look at the edge of the dashboard and the road, you could see how the van was being tossed around from the rocky surface. A rough road for any vehicle!

who notices stuff like that? (class c passing you). I did look at the wind map on weather channel and its kinda crazy everywhere out West. I'm in N. Cal and we are getting hit from two different directions. Craggy Wash - may have got the spelling wrong but regardless, I always love that area. Cheers. (BTW good for her for asking about the buddy system.)
Humm.. I have lived in Boulder City for 5 years and have always felt safe, plus I worked for the National Park there. I have never had an issue there or heard of some crime. The Park Rangers there are great and so are the Boulder Police, so I hope you ended up loving it.
I was going to comment on the last video about your climbing that mountain. I lived on a really steep road near the Grand Tetons and that road looked like it was a 7 or 8% grade, maybe more, even though because of camera angles it is hard to tell. Those who are out there doing it know; those who aren’t, keyboard camp. You go, girl!

Thank you for taking us along. You scored a great campsite (again) - obviously the result of advanced research and planning. The park attendant really cares about seeing that park visitors are comfortable and have a good experience. Seems like she has found a calling rather than just a job.

Desert Dust
Me? I can't handle desert dust. It's like a very fine powder. It gets everywhere.
My cabin air filter gets ugly in no time.
I flee to woodland places. I can take rain; but not the dust.
I'm in a national forest in Arkansas today.
I got my fishing pole out and sat by a small lake and caught some fish for my next meal.
I considered going back to my home base area soon, but I concluded, "Nah. Not yet."

I would've asked her what type of crime is happening out there before I risked it. I travel alone and if people are smashing car windows and stealing stuff, or there's incidents of violence, then I wouldn't go there to camp. I camp away from cities to get peace of mind with nature, don't desire to camp in a place that has all the nonsense of a big city.

If you want to keep your stuff at Lake Mead, leave someone in camp at all times. My GSD ripped a pair of swim trunks one night. Guy thought he wanted to steal a camp chair at 3 a.m. he found himself bleeding profusely and ended up being arrested.

Lake Mead looks a little better but not up to what is used to be. Hopefully it will be after this season of precip. And all the snow that's currently being dumped in CA. Weather channel predicting more and higher winds for you ; so hold onto your hat. 👑🚙🌬🕵️♀️🙄

I just came from Lake Mead and parked at Gov't Point/Wash dispersed camping. I had no problems. Note: the bathrooms are locked. The park is very strict on speed, so watch your foot. Boulder City has Albertsons and is the closest town for you.

that view in your campsite---stunning!!! There's something very soothing about a water view. I have a question about the hot logic (btw-those enchiladas looked amazing)- would a 5oo jackery work for that?
My Hot Logic pulls about 45 watts concurrently, which is about 10% of a 600w unit. So a 500 Jackery would work, but it would definitely draw a bit of power.
