  • @rachelb3196

    I think the full glitz pageants send the wrong message to these poor girls... a young child shouldn’t have a fake tan, loads of makeup/fake lashes, hair extensions, flippers etc. A kid that young shouldn’t feel like they need all that to be considered “beautiful enough” to win. I like the all natural pageants that are mostly judged on talent so the girls can feel worthy and beautiful in their own skin without needing to look fake :( not good for their self worth and will likely affect them negatively as they grow up. When I have kids I will teach them that they are gorgeous/handsome just the way they are and don’t need to look completely different when they look in the mirror in order to win some dumb pageant. All they need to worry about it being a kid and having fun and good about themselves and these pageants force them to grow up WAY too fast🥺💔

      I don't think that you should say that if you've never walked a mile on their shoes. The comment you made was not nice. You say they can look after their kids but not after themselves. You may say no hate but that is a very judgmental comment basically stating that they don't take care of themselves. You don't know what goes on and people's minds that have a lot of weight and you don't know the struggles that they endured to get to where they are in their weight. I took offense to that comment. What are you, so beautiful and skinny that you can look down your nose at others? I don't think you should do that. That says way more about you than it does about the people you're targeting. They are overweight but they're still valuable people and with that said many women who have children begin to have weight problems after childbirth. On the other hand, many times people endure years of trauma as children in the home, either through some type of abuse that creates that void and pain in that person to cause them to reach out to food for comfort, thus ending up as an obese individual for a good deal of their life if not their entire life... And that is so tragic and sad because they were treated so terrible and cheated out of a normal life. Nobody knows what anybody else is going through. You should be very careful about making comments concerning people's weight like this. I believe they are trying to live out their fantasy dreams of being beautiful through their daughter or maybe they wanted to do something like this as a kid or whatever but it's just best not to visit that subject because it is hurtful to a lot of people. Contrary to popular belief, fat people don't wish to be that way but life happens and a multitude of circumstances can put a person that may have been a normal weight otherwise into morbid obesity. That kind of obesity is usually lifetime. Many times people cannot overcome it. It's not easy and it's not easy to lose weight and it's not easy even more so to keep it off. People walk around with weight problems all their lives and never being able to overcome it but we are not to sit in the armchair of judgment to judge why they're overweight or that they should lose weight just so they can fit into our standards standards of America. I just think they should not even have these pageants at all. It's just not a good idea. They should be focused on other things besides their looks.

This Sealy girl may not be more then average looking but she is confident and an entertainer. Her mother should put her into theater instead before her confidence is destroyed by not being the prettiest girl on stage. She could thrive in theater were it's not about beauty but about so much more valuable stuff.

    How to raise an absolute BRAT. One of the worst things a family, especially a Mother, can do to a little girl is to expose her to the pageant world. You set her up for failure. You set her up for disappointment. If she does win it makes for the big head. Better to be a 'normal' child. Jon Benet was destroyed by the pageant world. JUST don't do it.

Seems like they would do much better for themselves by concentrating on losing all that extra weight rather than trying to live through their daughters strutting and prancing around on stage like decorated show ponies.

    Most the Moms live through their daughters 🤷‍♀️ Idc what anyone says! Yes the girl may have said she loves doing it but anything could be scripted…Look at what the grandma and mom has said…Most little girls would love dressing as a princess Like my daughter she asked to do pageants but I don’t want people judging my little child 🤷‍♀️ And looking like a teenager The stuff these little girls gotta go through is ridiculous like makeup fake tan fake nails eye brows plucked fake teeth it’s ridiculous 🤷‍♀️ Yes they are all adorable but damn!

    Spray tanning in the kitchen seems messy - even with the towels. I think I'd have done it outside or in the garage where you're not getting the tanning stuff all all over the kitchen.

    It just seems to me that the obese mother is trying to live out her fantasy of being thin and beautiful through her daughter. It's sad that the mother feels this way. People end up with a lot of weight for a lot of reasons, but it's really sad when it is directly affecting an innocent child. The only way the daughter ends up in something like this is because the mother promotes it. I would never have my daughter and anything like this ever.

    Some parents force their kids in to certain sports or other activities. All parents live vicariously through their children some way or another. Lots of little girls love dress up and make up and they all look like little dolls. Nothing is wrong with the concept and nothing is wrong about 99% of the parents or kids attitudes. They just show us the most extreme cases to make a show out of it. If anyone really thinks it's inappropriate, they should probably be in some type of therapy and not be around kids or watching these videos.

    • @de3182
      @de3182 2 года назад +2

      I know loads of parents that push their kids into sports and act like little league ball at age 8 is kin to the Olympics or Superbowl. I know parents that push their children really hard academically and live vicariously through their success. Nobody really talks much about that, but pageants are fair game. My daughter has done a scholarship system (not glitz) since age 10. She absolutely loves it. Always has. It's her thing and she wouldn't give it up for the world. I never pushed her into it. Her first one, I asked her if she wanted to do it. She said yes. She willingly practiced and she had a wonderful time. She was hooked after that and wanted to do them. She learned to set and meet goals. Win graciously, lose graciously, made lifelong friends, interview like a champ, develop and present a talent, have grace under pressure... Things she will use all her life. We are not looking forward to her aging out of her system.
