So incredibly handsome Sierra became. When you rebuild these small cars, I get extremely excited. These are wonderful details and a huge job you put into them. The Sierran was a wonderful car. Hello there! I do believe that when Matchbox switched operations to Macau, some of the tooling, of various models, 'went on a tour' of the local region, like Hong Kong, and mainland China. The result of this, being knock-off models that looked like Matchbox, but on closer inspection obviously weren't. Parts fit, finish and weight in the hand are obvious giveaways - I've encountered them at car boot sales in the past. Some are very convincing. Others are rather poor. Some have rubbish interiors and glazing, and thick paint. Yours turned out beautiful. That red just jumps out at you. You mentioning Australia made me think: have you ever had one of the Hot Wheels 1973 Ford Falcon XB models? It's a great looking car, and I was wondering, other than the obvious 'Mad Max' customs, if it was ever used as a race car? Another great model of an iconic and powerful Australian vehicle, is the 2010 Matchbox Holden Ute SSV. That might be fun to work on.
Hi Brain, hope you're well. I do have a Machbox Falcon which I think is a 90's, maybe 00's car. Its a pace car and has a roof bar moulding on and a great roll bar interior, so I'll prep that up soon enough for sure. Thanks for the info on MC cars, its a dead cert I thought they were rip offs for all the points you mentioned but I was slightly unsure. 🚗🚓🚕🚙😁👍
@@SidewaysKing75 - yeah, dunno why the matchbox XR4i castign is so rare and exspensive, lol, whenever they turn up on evilbay for a quid they always seem to end up going for near a tenner a pop.
Where do you get the decals from? Great rebuild would love to see the Graham Goode version maybe when hotwheels bring them out and you do your starting grid
Superb as usual! Shame about the plastic lower half of the body shell causing problems and making it awkward, what can you do! The red body and the gold alloys really work well together. Have you considered doing something along the lines of a Group C racer in the future? Look forward to seeing your next video, Rich
Many thanks Rich. I do have some Group C cars to do yes. Theres a Mazda and also some Matchbox that is simply named Group C and don't quite know what it is, but I'll have a go at it 🚗🚓🚕🚙😁👍
I live near DJR (Queenslander born and bred) and used to watch OL Dicky race back in the 80s early 90s...although I wasn't a Fan...I was of Fury & Richards...would Love for you to do a Richards/Skaife GTR
You can still capture some of that rear wheel power and madness from Ford cheaply right now by grabbing the last of the big rear drive Fjords from Sweden - I picked up a 1995 3.0 24v straight six Volvo 960 estate for under £3k and it is epic! Of course you can go full BTCC with an 850R Estate for under £10k but I think AWD just doesn't quite do it for me :) How about a big Volvo for a project car?
The best advice I can give is to try putting the names of the cars you have into eBay to see what others a re going for, or go along to a toy fair and see if theres any there for sale. I don't really check on my values as they are all mine from a kid and are decades old so to me they are worth much more. With the restoration, again its down to what you intend to do. If you are doing them up to sell on you need to weigh up what you are being charged as opposed to what you want to sell them for. In any of these cases selling them individually would get you better returns as theres so many job lots that go for realtively cheap, but there could be a number of cars in those lots that are worth as much as the job lot if they went on there own..... hope this helps Thanks for watching 🚗🚓🚕🚙😁👍
I was going to ask you about your name. I guessed the 75 was your birth year and I was guessing that you were into drifting. Seems you were just a hoonigan ;)

@@SidewaysKing75 Uhm, we did come and check out your garage ;) - Remember :D
@@diecastheroes Present company accepted 👍
i ended up having to convert a normal sierra into a cossie cos i couldnt find one anywhere, lol, yours is better than mine though
Just like the real things, I think everyone did that with a shell at one point🚗🚓🚕🚙😁👍
Pretty sure he made them as other decals
@@Valoute_GS printed them ?? Are there sites that do that ??
I make all my own and sell them through my site www.sk75works.co.uk many thanks
Superb as usual! Shame about the plastic lower half of the body shell causing problems and making it awkward, what can you do! The red body and the gold alloys really work well together. Have you considered doing something along the lines of a Group C racer in the future? Look forward to seeing your next video, Rich
Many thanks Rich. I do have some Group C cars to do yes. Theres a Mazda and also some Matchbox that is simply named Group C and don't quite know what it is, but I'll have a go at it 🚗🚓🚕🚙😁👍
Look forward to seeing the results, all the best Rich
This was an excellent video to watch! By the way, where could I get a pen vise like yours?
Thank you... you can get them on Amazon/Ebay, also called hand drills 🏎🚗😁👍
It as been long
I live near DJR (Queenslander born and bred) and used to watch OL Dicky race back in the 80s early 90s...although I wasn't a Fan...I was of Fury & Richards...would Love for you to do a Richards/Skaife GTR
You can still capture some of that rear wheel power and madness from Ford cheaply right now by grabbing the last of the big rear drive Fjords from Sweden - I picked up a 1995 3.0 24v straight six Volvo 960 estate for under £3k and it is epic!
Of course you can go full BTCC with an 850R Estate for under £10k but I think AWD just doesn't quite do it for me :)
How about a big Volvo for a project car?
Isn't the 850R front wheel drive?
@@turbo_sheep4735 oops indeed it was I was thinking about the 850 AWD from 1997. Even more reason to love my 960 :)
Sounds great. I love a big Volvo 🚗🚓🚕🚙😁👍
Turned out nice, dick Johnston was a great driver ,
Thank you.... he certainly is 🚗🚓🚕🚙😁👍
I have a big box of old cars, toys etc etc no original boxes. How do i find the value and whether professional restoration is worth it. Any advice.
@@SidewaysKing75 awesome advice. Once I have sorted them I will keep you updated. Awesome.

I was going to ask you about your name. I guessed the 75 was your birth year and I was guessing that you were into drifting. Seems you were just a hoonigan ;)
