    Not dumb at all. What I've learned about cosplaying/crafting is that it's really about troubleshooting things to make it fit your own personal needs. Your pattern may not fit my body type, so I have to alter it a bit. Seeing your mistakes not only shows how you learn, but shows how you've grown. Plus we get to learn from you. Thanks for the shirt lesson. I actually used some of these techniques to do my own stuff.

    I have used iron on transfers for sooo many things, including patches for cosplay, they are the best! Also there are different things you can do to change how glossy/matte they come out.

    Hey Zonbi, can you share the font, and logo on files we could use. That would be super helpful, and save us tons of time. Keep up the great work, i love what you do.

    I've done a similar mistake to the non stretch shirt problem! I needed to make some ribbon that went around the ankles on some tights which were addorned with strips of rhinestones. I handsewed the ribbon all the way around the base of the ankles and tried to pull the leggings on, but couldn't get my legs through because the ribbon didn't stretch: SO INFURIATING!! I should of just used black elastic instead but because I was in concrunch I decided to use velcro to attach the ribbon instead, and handsewing velcro is the WORST. At least I learned a valuable lesson!!

    Did you have any visible lines or residue from the transfer, I always worry about the bits in between the lettering is showing through and make it look fake. If not.. I am about to buy a load for some projects..

    Oh man, I recently made fabric boot covers for the first time, and when the first cover was successful, I decided to trace the pattern and use it for the second boot. For some reason, it didn't fit on the second one x) I generally tend to make my patterns a tad oversized, because I'd rather have to pin and sew a second time than waste my fabric (and time) (:

    Definitely been there, ironed a transfer onto a tshirt, then realised it wasn't a stretch transfer, so as soon as I put the shirt on it ripped the design apart over my chest...

    3D printed Deathstroke mask for my sons costume. Made it as big at my build plate would allow. After 16 hours the 2 sides were too small. QQQQQ

    I handstitched a pair of 18th century fly front breeches. I should have tried them on before finishing. They were about 2 sizes too small. Hours and hours of tedious stitching and expensive heavy linen fabric wasted.

    when you are gonna do the helmet?

    • @TheTacos4life
      @TheTacos4life 7 лет назад +2

      superjimy ct I think and I may be mistaken here.... But Punished Props did the helmet already and said that it was to small for him, but that was fine because it was a gift for a friend.... I'm assuming she is the friend and has the helmet saved for the end. I could be wrong ;)

    It's a known, proven fact that the presence of a cat when sewing makes everything purrfect. :D

    1:49 oh man do i know about mistakes with fabric..and just poor measurement. I was making my Pidge (VLD) sweater using a white turtle neck i had already (i was just going to add the green, orange and grey bits to it) i was finishing up the last few stitches to add the new neck piece to the sweater..what i failed to realize is how different the fabrics stretch was..to makes things short i got stuck in the sweater and had to cut the neck open to get out..all my beautiful 4 hours of hand stitching gone and dead. Hope you enjoyed my failure!!~
