  • This chisel is used for mortar raking brickwork. For re-pointing jobs in all types of mortar. To be used with SDS Plus drilling machines using hammer action only. Tungsten carbide tips allow the chisel to cut accurately and extremely quick with the stub length design giving the user more control, therefore less dust is produced.
For removing mortar from around brick and concrete blocks, our Stub-Length Chisel is ideal. The chisel's carbide-tipped cutting edge is given even more power by the stub length design.

I think i will stick to my 10mm diamond blade on my 115mm grinder, faster and much less vibration, maybe ok for small DIY jobs

This tools looks ok to a uneducated bricklayer/mason or diy'er! Reason being to repoint a brick wall properly you need to dig the joints out to a min depth of 3/8" preferably 3/4". This looks like it's only digging it out to a depth of about a 1/4"?

Hi Damon, the actual length of the blade on the raker is 20mm, so it will "dig out" between 3/8" and almost 3/4" which is the required depth. Thanks for your comments though. If you want to try the tool for yourself call me on 0114 269 1666 and i will send you one FOC, maybe after using it you may change your opinion.

If you look closely, the corner is already broken and filled with mortar, the tool didnt do it. Tool looks fine perfect for small jobs and a good price.

Good job it was only our testing wall and the job was being done by me, an obsolute novice when it comes to removing motar from bricks, i think i could get the hang of it with a little more practice. I think a professional who does the job day in day out wouldn't make the same mistake!! the chisel does work fine in the hands of the professionals, i only make them to make their life easier hopefully.
