Great tip with the tote, and the handlebar removal. We have these bikes also, so I could feel your pain watching you handle these bikes. I remove the batteries, seats, and seat posts to help reduce the weight. Have fun, stay safe...
Hi Donald. Thanks for watching. They are a little cumbersome to load. The totes have worked really well for hauling them. Take care and have a great weekend. Kent and Tami
Thank you so much for posting this! We have had the hardest time putting them in and out of our car so after watching this yesterday we went to Lowe's and bought two of these. Oh my goodness the difference is huge! They fit perfectly in the back of our Chevy Traverse! Thank you again!
Thank you guys! Got this exact bin to transport my new XP 3.0 for next week. Fits perfectly in there- the proportions of this bin are made for this bike. Bonus points: I also just got the Wike DIY bicycle trailer. I’m making it custom-sized to fit around this bin. So the Wike chassis breaks down flat, it slides in the Rogue either alongside or under the bin (without hitting the car ceiling). Once at the beach house, I use the ebike and Wike only to go back and forth to the beach. So the bike container transforms into the bike trailer! Win, win!!!
I'm only 5'2 and 60 at that. I can only lift my Gotrax R2 about one foot off the ground. I'm gonna use my doggie ramp & a wheeled 45 g bin to roll it up the trunk.
A better alternative avoiding any heavy fat tire e-bike lifting. First raise the empty plastic container vertically, then roll in the foldable 60 pounds Aipas A2 Elite (almost identical e-bike to Lectric XP 3.0) to the vertically-positioned bin. Unfold the car dog ramp and slide the bin with the foldable step-through e-bike in the vehicle trunk. No any lifting required compared to video-displayed method. Enjoy your e-bike transportation.

@@ktkamping4975 Thank you! That's exactly what I needed to know. I think I'll be purchasing the same size tote for my Lectric XP. Fantastic Idea for safer transportation.
We love those Lectric Ebikes! The only thing that has kept us from buying one is the lack of space while living full time in a truck camper. Great storage tip!
Hi guys. We are really liking these bikes. Definitely can go places we could not even try to go before as far as hills etc. I could see where storage would be at a premium with the truck camper. Thanks for watching and the awesome support. Take care. Kent and Tami
Hi, this is a good idea to haul them around in our class c motorhome. Just wondering what is the width of your tote. The door to the motor home is around 22.5 inches. What is the manufacturer of the tote. Maybe I can look it up. Thanks for sharing this.
I really dont like taking my handlebar off. Seems to me like everytime I mess with it the cables are never the same. Couldnt I just trim out the sides of the tote? II mean is that why u did that? I have a prius and I had a hard time getting just one back there without scratching up the bumper in the process. In fact I just leave it unfolded and fold down the back seats of my car. I know, that defeats the purpose, but Im 71 now and I dont sling things around like I used to.
I took the handlebars off just to allow more room for both bikes. It will fit in there with them on. They just stick out. Keeping unfolded and putting in car works. We just couldn't get both of them in our car like that. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great week. Kent and Tami
We had heard that the bikes fit perfectly in those tubs. That is a great way to carry them! They are totally protected from the weather and theft. Great idea! Lynn and Danny
Hi guys thanks so much for watching. The totes worked great. We did have to take handlebars completely apart to make them fit the way we wanted. No big deal though. Take care and thanks for the awesome support. Kent and Tami
You didn't mention which Lectric bikes you both have. I have an XP 3.0 and my partner an XP Lite. The 40 gallon totes I got are too small for the 3.0, but I haven't tried the Lite with the tote yet.
We have the original Lectric bikes. Not sure of model number. The totes we use are 64 gallon. My wife’s sister just got the 3.0 and it fit snuggly in the 64 gallon tote. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great day.

I bet you got snow sound but what I wanted to know is there something you can put on electric bike like GPS that will let you find it if somebody steals it
Hi Gary. That is a great question. I have no idea. I am sure that there is some kind of device for that. Sorry not much help. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Kent
You can hide an Apple Air Tag on the bike. Some cities and states require ebikes to have an audible bell. There are some handlebar mounted bells that conceal the Air Tag as well as a few other holders. Or, just secure it under the seat or on the backside of the display. Try preventing the theft first by using a high quality lock and or chain as a deterrent so that the thief will ignore your bike. Preventing theft is much easier than retrieving a stolen bike!
How tall is the highest point on the bikes in the tote? We have an XP 2.0 and an XP 2.0 ST. Trying to figure out whether they'll fit in the back of our Volt with these totes. We have been just folding them and transporting them lying down.
We are supposed to get our 2 bikes the next couple weeks depending on Fedex this is great we will be hauling ours in our tow vehicle behind the motorhome when we travel this showed we can Thank you its nice to meet you we may have some videos you would enjoy as well Safe travels .
Hey guys. Thanks for watching. We love our bikes. Im sure you will love yours to. This is a great way to haul your bikes. Keeps them out of the weather and safe. We will go over and check out your channel. Thank again and take care. Have a great week. Kent and Tami
@@ktkamping4975 Thanks for replying! Is it easier to carry the tote than the bike? If it's not really easier then it's not useful to have the tote because it's almost like lifting 2x. One time to lift bike into tote, and then another time from tote to trunk. And repeat that process in reverse when unloading, so now it's like 4x lifting. The banging around can be fixed with other means (e.g. thick blanket).
We have been thinking about getting those containers. When traveling we keep one in our 5th wheel between the slides and one in the back seat of our truck. It maybe easier to have them in a container to move around. Thanks for sharing! Chris and Barbara
Hi Chris and Barbara. Thanks so much for watching. When we first got ours we just folded them up and put them in places but I was afraid of tearing them up bouncing on something so we got the containers. They have worked out great for us and no more rattling. Thanks for the awesome support. Kent and Tami
Pretty clever! If I may, one suggestion: Put some protection (piece of old carpeting or something) over bumper and then put the wheeled end of the tote in first. That way you wouldn't have to lift entire tote/bike off the ground, just get the wheels up to the bumper. Happy travels!
It’s pretty amazing how small and compact those bikes can get when you fold them up. It looks pretty easy to fold up, too. Looks like the perfect way to haul them around.

It is a 64 gallon tote. We put a link in the description under the video. These came from Lowes. Thanks for watching and asking. Have a great week. Kent and Tami
Great video. I have seen other posts using the Commander XXLs but I really like yours because you pop out the handlebars which is a much better idea for our smaller Chevy Bolt. Keep ‘em coming!
This is a great way to travel with them. I was thinking that there was no way they would fit. But, I was thinking with the lid in place. Don't need the lid. Awesome.
Hi guys. Thanks so much for watching. The totes make them so easy to transport without worrying if they will fall over and get damaged. Thanks for the great support and take care. Kent and Tami
I just leave my key in the battery and don't have to worry about battery sliding out. What I would like to know though are the interior dimensions of that box since I'm having a problem locating the Commander XXL 64 specifically. Thanks.
Hi Jay. We leave the keys in ours also. Never take out the battery to store in the totes. The interior dimensions are 17 1/2 wide 42 long at the top. At the bottom it is 14 1/2 wide 42 long. They are about 19 inches deep. Thanks for commenting and have a great week. Kent and Tami
@@ktkamping4975 I have been watching other vids to see what tote they use and I like the way you are able to fit the folded handle bar inside the tote as well, which might not work in a 40 or 50 gallon container. I'm putting my bike in the back seat of a 2011 C300 Mercedes and have already done it without a tote, without much problem, but I want to try loading this by myself and sliding in a tote seems the easiest and safest way for my interior. I'm a little surprised you can get the bike in that Commander width-wise unless your container bows out at the wheel spindles a bit. I have a Lectric 2.0.
@@eldnah2 The tote works great. It is much wider at the top. Both bikes fit very well. I will say my wifes step through fits a little easier than my regular xp does. We got the totes to keep them from banging around when loaded and to also save the interior of the car. I do not think the smaller tote would work. I think the 2.0 would fit nicely in the commander that we have. Sorry to hear they are hard to come by. Taking the handle bars off makes them much easier to deal with when loading.
Great idea! Question: I noticed that you instead of folding the handlebars down, you remove the handlebars from the stem and then fold It down separately. Will the bike fit in the tote if you just fold the handlebars down regular without removing the handlebar from the stem?

The size of the XP 2.0 Step Through is not listed on their web site. The manual shows the overall size but not the folded up size. Seems like they forgot us early adopters. Turns out they won't fit in our truck under the tonneau cover. God video.
We had this problem also. We ended up putting a topper on the truck to allow for easy hauling when camping. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend.

Our door height is 32 inches. I measured the height of the bike in the tote and it measures right around 28 inches. It would be tight but possibly would fit. It it does fit the totes are a fantastic way to haul the bike. Thanks for watching. Kent and Tami
Hi Tim, No it will not. You would have to find a much taller container to get the lid to snap on. Sorry for the bad news. Have a great week. Kent and Tami
Hi. I really don't know. I am sure you could without containers with all seats down. With containers I would have my doubts. Thanks for watching and commenting. We really appreciate it. Have a great week. Kent and Tami
I know you take the handlebars off to make it easier to fit in your vehicle but will the bike fit in the container if the handlebars are just folded down and not removed or do they have to lay on the outside of the container? I will want the entire bike inside a container.
The container is big enough to set the handle bars inside. We don’t let them hang outside when hauling. They do stick out if left on the bike. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend. Kent and Tami
@@ktkamping4975 So watching in slow motion I see you grab the bike someplace by the bike seat. Looks like a handle. What bike do you have? Ours have no place to grip it where your right hand grabs to fold. Also ours needs a lot of force to fold. Any hints on how to make the folding hing bend easier? I still think you’re strong. No way can we lift the bike alone.
Be careful if you leave the battery in the bike when folding. It can slide out and hit the concrete. I always take my battery out to reduce weight and for safety.

@@ktkamping4975 thanks for the quick reply and your videos are very helpful and entertaining too. I will be buying those totes, because I'm fitting both bikes into the back of a Jeep Laredo and I think those totes will help prevent them from getting damaged or jostling around during the rides.
Nice job there . We also bought a some totes as well for our e bikes, we just went another direction. They look like they fit well . Will try taking off the handlebars completely!!
Hi. Thanks so much for watching. We found taking off the handlebars made it a lot easier to get into the car. Take care and thanks for the awesome support. Kent and Tami
Do you think you can pack it with a the Lectric basket installed? Probably have to take it off.
I'm guessing it would not.
Kent
We have totes very similar that work great! We plan to haul inside of our camper, but be have to wait and see how they fit. Thanks for sharing
Hi guys. Thanks for watching. They make it really easy to haul them around. We really like these bikes. Have you guys got another RV yet? Just probing a little bit. lol. Take care. Kent and Tami
@@ktkamping4975 No RV yet...end of May is the target date! We will live vicariously through you!! LOL For now ebiking! Maybe one day we will ebike together!
Would this work for the rear seat of a Mazda3 or similar?
Hi Chris. I really can't answer that question. I don't know how much room there is. Sorry I can't help more. Kent
That works out great. They break down really a lot smaller than we thought.
Hi guys. Yes they break down pretty small. The containers make it so much better for hauling. Take care and thanks for the awesome support. Kent and Tami
First off I love that Coke machine! If our 6 year old Pedego's ever give up the ghost we would certainly give a hard look at fold-ups. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Dave and Diane. How are you guys? How is the new RV? It looked awesome in the video we watched. Thanks for the compliment on the Coke machine. That is one of 11 I have. 😂 I know it's an illness. We are loving these bikes. The way they fold up and fit in the totes make them so easy to haul. Thanks so much for watching and the awesome support. Take care guys. Kent and Tami
Can you tell me the vertical height of the door frame on your enclave? My outback is 29” so it could be tight! Thanks
Our door height is 32 inches. I measured the height of the bike in the tote and it measures right around 28 inches. It would be tight but possibly would fit. It it does fit the totes are a fantastic way to haul the bike. Thanks for watching. Kent and Tami
QUESTION DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO TAKE THE NECK OF THE BIKE OUT THE POLE OR JUST HAVE IT BEND OVER
you can leave it in there. It just helped with room in the back of car for 2 bikes
Looks like a great way to transport the bikes. Keeps them secure.
Hi guys. Hauling them this way makes it so much better. You are so right definitely secure. Thanks for watching. Kent and Tami
Hi Kent, I want to haul my xp’s in the back of the pickup. Can you tell me if the Commander XXL lid will snap down? Thanks!
Hi Tim, No it will not. You would have to find a much taller container to get the lid to snap on. Sorry for the bad news. Have a great week. Kent and Tami
I keep the styrofoam from the packaging to protect the screen/display when transporting it in the car or on the rack.
Thanks for the idea. Have a great week.
Excellent video! I just bought a 2018 Enclave as well! Do you think a third Lectric bike can fit?
WHAT TYPE OF TOTES ARE THOSE FOR THE E BIKES
The totes came from Lowes. I believe they were the 64 gallon ones. There is a link in the video description for them.
You are strong! Takes us both to lift our bike!
😂 thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend. Kent
I have trouble folding and unfolding mine, too. It's very stiff. Anyone have suggestions to loosen that a bit?@@debbiecarroll6794
Wow those work out perfect!! Those bikes are awesome! Hope to add them to our adventures someday!!
Hi Chuck and Cherie. Thanks for checking out the video. We are really liking these bikes. Take care and thanks for the awesome support. Kent and Tami
Be careful if you leave the battery in the bike when folding. It can slide out and hit the concrete. I always take my battery out to reduce weight and for safety.
Ron, Thanks so much for the tip. I did not even think about that. Thanks for watching and take care. Kent and Tami
@@ktkamping4975 no problem. Sharing based on personal experience. Easy to damage the expensive battery.
What about xp 3.0 with accessories? Can you still fold up & put on tote?
I do not know the answer to that. I am guessing it will fit but not sure. Thanks for watching. Kent
thanks but you are a big guy .. only 5' 7" here and I can't pick it up as easily as you did ! i wish :) but I did it .... Thanks again.. I used a 40 gal Husky It will slide in my pass through ... but to now try sliding it with the bike in it !
So glad the video was helpful. Thanks for watching. Kent and Tami

Hi guys. Thanks for watching. This has worked out really well for us. Take care and have a great rest of the week. Kent and Tami
I love that those bikes fold up so small that you can fit them in not so large spaces.
Hi guys. Thanks for checking out the video. We are so pleased with the way we can transport them. Take care and thanks for the awesome support. Kent and Tami
Great video!! So cool that there are so many different kinds of ebikes! Very cool that yours fold and stow like that. ~ Brad and Diana
Hi Brad and Diana. Thanks so much for watching. We love the ebikes. We can go places we would not go with our regular bikes. Mainly hills. lol. Those new bikes you guys have look really nice. Take care and thanks for the awesome support. Kent and Tami
Perfect. Thanks
Glad the video helped. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great week.
What about putting it in a car trunk?
Hi Michael. Thanks for watching the video. I do not have any idea if they would fit in a car trunk or not. Would have to be a fairly large trunk. Sorry not much help. Kent and Tami
That looks like a lot of work to break them down, but I love that you found a solution that fits your vehicle. We’ve been looking at e/ bikes, so thanks for sharing.
Hi guys. Thanks for watching. They really aren't that hard to break down. We can have both bikes loaded in the car in less than 5 minutes. We have a lot of fun on these bikes. You would love the ebikes. Take care and have a great weekend. Kent and Tami
That is awesome.

They fold up perfectly! 👍💪 Fit in your vehicle nicely. Great walkthrough. 😀
Hi guys thanks so much for watching and the awesome support. We really like these bikes. Take care and have a great week. Kent and Tami
I like to put the bike in the tote first before I release the handlebars
Thanks for the tip. Have a great week.

50 gallon is a better fit. Less wasted space
Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend.
Your "secret" is to remove the handlebars, not just fold them, like most people do. Makes the bikes narrower and take up less space.
Hi. Wow you are observant. We tried to fold and put into car without removing handlebars and they did not fit well. Removing made it work out a lot better. Thanks for watching. Take care. Kent and Tami
Genius
Thanks.
It hurts my back just watching you lift those bikes into those containers…
lol. They are not the lightest bikes. I would say 60 pounds each. Just guessing. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a fantastic weekend.
