You know I forgot that Republic Commandos was first person. It certainly could be but I feel like if it was a remake they would announce that from the get go rather than being coy and saying "star wars fps"
I just want a huge game of Galatic conquest spanning all 3 eras. Sequels might suck but they had cool ass maps on BF2 and cool troops as well. All I want it to immerse myself in solo GC content for weeks.
EA's exclusivity deal with Star Wars ended this year so that's why we'll be getting a lot of different studios like Massive and Quantic Dream doing games in Star Wars. This is just the start of it too so expect more in the future hopefully

An X-Com type Star Wars game is something I would love. I hope it doesn't ignore the space side though. I would love to start commanding a few soldiers, and maybe some vehicles and starfighters then as the game progresses ramp up slowly to running all the rebel forces (Or the forces of whatever faction you belong to') in your home sector for example. I wish they would give us something like the Rogue Squadron or Starfighter games though. Squadrons was fun but the single player campaign was far too short and only having three fighters to fly in the campaign was annoying
@@cubcos Maybe. Though I hope the space combat keeps the large ships, the Star Destroyer or MC80 counterparts very limited. If I were making the game I would probably make it so anything larger then an MC30C for example couldn't belong to your force permanently just borrowed from high command for a period. I think anything larger then the sector level in an X-Com type system would be overwhelming even if you started smaller and built up to that point. And commanding a sector would let your actions have a significant impact on the big picture without having to manage a galaxy scale force
Hope it grows, too, I'm having a lot of fun. IGN just put out a thing saying Ubisoft confirmed Outlaws for late 2024 so we have a bit of a wait ahead of us sadly.
@@cubcos I honestly am ok with it after playing cyberpunk on release and playing it in 2023. I would've rather had it released in this state so I am ok with them taking their time. That being said, ofc I want star wars content earlier:(
I wouldn't mind some retro remakes. Revenge of the Sith is one of best GBA Star Wars games. SW Trilogy wasn't half bad. Remake the Super Star Wars series.
If they're touching Kyle Katarn again, maybe we'll get an updated version of Jedi Academy. The Cal Kestis games are alright I guess, but the integration of guns, force powers, and actual lightsaber styles was much better done in Academy I feel.

I don't think they'll do Battlefront, only because they stated it was an FPS they were working on. If DICE does get another go at Battlefront 3 I hope to god they use everything they learnt from BF2 because that game was getting to such a fantastic point when they pulled the plug. I still play that game a lot.
@@cubcos I see what you mean, I just don't trust Dice. I'd much rather respawn get the chance to work on one. The only reason why I even think it's Battlefront is because of how they didn't mention the name. I think EA learned a lesson about announcing Battlefront games with how the Dice ones turned out on launch. If I were them I'd want to avoid as much hype around the title as possible until it's had a lot of time to cook.

Hoping Disney let more companies use the Star Wars IP. We need more high quality SW games, books, shows, films etc.

Squadrons was so great but yeah it felt really limited. I wonder if an XCOM combined with Empire at War could work?

Nothing sadly. Apex seems to he their focus but I hope beyond hope that Titanfall 3 becomes real one day.
