  • This is the interview conducted by director/screenwriter Josh Olson with the famed William Friedkin at The Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, CA that was part of The American Cinematheque Los Angeles two-day tribute. The event occurred on January 23, 2011, in between the screening of Sorcerer (1977) and The Exorcist (1973).

    Friedkin rocks! The stories of the making of Sorcerer is one of the greatest behind the scenes tales ever...love this film..glad others like it..glad its coming to blu ray soon! Keep making films Billy!

    Thank you very much for posting this! Sorcerer has been one of my favorite films of all time. I saw it in the theater when it was first released and then spent years waiting for it to be released on video tape. I've had numerous copies because I would lend it to someone and then never get it back. I agree that McQueen would have been a distraction. Schieder brings a kind of jittery nuance that I don't think McQueen could do.
