This is so beautiful. When I was his age, my mother married again and unfortunately it was a very bad situation for me as a young girl. I wish I would've had a good experience like this young man. I'm 57 now and my mother is still with him and It's hard for me, but for my mother's sake I keep my thoughts to myself. I pray this young man's step mom will always treat him right and love him. Kids grow up so fast. 💜

I’m over here tearing up listening to such a heartfelt and very articulate 11 year old give a best man speech about his dad and new step mom! That was so so sweet of him to brave public speaking (I still get nervous to this day, even though for almost 20 years now in my career I deal with strangers every single day!) to tell them how he felt, and I’m sure his mom is happy that he has a bonus mom that treats him so well and gives him so much love when he’s with his dad!
Nothing is more critical to the development of children than having a great mom and dad!

This speech is way better than some family speeches talking about themselves and their accomplishments. Some “mother of the groom” speeches would only talk about their son and how wonderful he was - no mention of the bride. This one stated the positives, how each group welcomed one another with love and the hope and reassurance for the newly married couple. Good job, kid!

I felt this way when my Dad got remarried. I expressed my happiness in a speech at their wedding. I was happy for them. A few months later both my Dad and stepmom cut me out of their lives. They don't speak to me and I to this very day wonder what I did wrong.
