  • Auto adaptors have been around, turning manual lenses into autofocus lenses in mirrorless cameras. I've tested many auto adaptors before but never really settled on one as they are mostly slow and unreliable, so can Techart's latest TZM-02 change my mind? #photography #nikon #contentcreator

    That Nikon 20mp sensor has some character. I’ve had that sensor in z50 and z30. There has always just been something special about that sensor.

    It looks like it is functioning like a helical focuser (which is a thing) but automated. Some old lenses had such a thing built into them for close focus, a secondary focuser but acting like a variable extension tube. As with anything that monkeys with the back-focus, the flange distance, (as macro tubes do), this can degrade the image (by not bringing all wavelengths together in focus); the discrepancy is slight, you may notice some chroma. When adapting lenses the flange distance tolerance is something like 0.05mm, that's right 50 micron, and parallel within 3 micron.

    Cool, can you please review the Techart adapter for Contax G lenses on nikon ?

    Hello, great video. I have already learned some new tips from it.
    You know, I have a feeling that when mount any lens on this adapter via additional adapter, I get a restriction and can’t focus at minimal focus distance, say 0.5m at 55mm lens. I need to stand rather far away. Lens is set to infinity, of course.
    Any idea how to avoid this effect?

    That TTartisan 35 APO weights around 510g ish with hood, will the adapter still work flawlessly?

    Do you know if this will work on the ZF?

    Impressive!What is your opinion for the new Nikon Zf?It is heavier,not so bigger,better build quality,better processor,better iso performance and with this teachart you can use all your M lenses with the original focal length (35mm will be 35mm).Probably would have even better af performance (because Nikon Zf has the same af system and processor like Z9 and Z8).

      Yes, I think I may get one but I really want a silver one and all they have is black

    They also turn your expensive camera into a brick like a few years back with the sony to m42 af adapter ?

    • @Red35Photography
      @Red35Photography  Год назад

      In contrast, most old AF adapters were big and chunky, this is quite slim, like a 1.4x converter, doesn’t really add too much unless you want to adapt a big lens

    • @parranoic
      @parranoic Год назад +1

      @@Red35Photography No, what I meant is that in the past those types of adapters could short circuit your camera when the load (the lens weight) was too big. There was a reviewer that lost a 3k$ camera due to the sony m42 adapter and a member of our vintage lens group also had the same experience.

    • @Red35Photography
      @Red35Photography  Год назад +3

      @@parranoic I wouldn't disagree but I notice that you do need to be careful when using such adaptor, I mentioned about the weight here and how you should hold the camera because the motor can be damaged or overloaded when obstructed. However, this is the latest generation and there's a failsafe system and the adaptor will simply stop functioning when something like this happen, cuts the power and you need to restart.

    Interesting video - but - I am somewhat astonished. You explained the acquisition of the Zfc with the retro analogue style and the slowing down of doing photography. Now you seem to turn 180 degrees....
    By the way the 500 g restriction make them unusable for full frame cameras...

    • @Red35Photography

      hahah I admire what you said. I clarified at the beginning of the video, that I will use my Z-fc to review Nikon Z lenses and accessories, and I mentioned in other comment too, I haven't changed that, I am using the Z-fc to do some old school stuff, but when you have a channel to review stuff, why not have a look at some new techs :)

      appreciate your comment but I am reviewing a solution, it doesn't reflect my love on using manual lenses normally on my cameras.

    Hi, do you know how long is the life expectancy of this adapter?
    I have used 5 techart lm-ea7 (all dead), 1 tzm 1 (dead), 1 tze01 (still works), and the last one is LMea9, not even 1 year usage, but the motor already weak, it cannot retract back to infinity, can only reach 5m focus. I love techart adapters, but the life expectancy are too short, and no tech support. 🥲🥲🥲🥲
