I would think it is the gauge, since you tested it by putting the drill on it and the problem remained...

You are correct, I’ve replaced the gauge and it works perfectly now.

Thanks for sharing your journey. My stock speedo jumps around a lot, so I'll be interested in hearing what you find out is the cause of your speedo twitching. I have heard that an ungreased speedo cable can cause this problem, but since yours is brand new, that shouldn't be the problem. Did your new speedo cable come pre-greased?

Yes it did come pre greased. I should be getting my gauge back this week, and I’ll let you know.
