I dared not skip ahead as I am fascinated by the process. As a non-quilter, but a color enthusiast, I am amazed as you place, move, place and it goes together so beautifully. The grayscale solidifies those choices. Always learning from you, Kate. Thank you for your time with us all.
I am loving this series on liberty fabric! Thank you so much for what you share on your channel. You are a lovely woman and watching your videos is like visiting with a dear friend! ❤️
Kate, it's absolutely mesmerizing! It brought back memories of when I needed to talk to my sons about something serious or important, I would get out a puzzle box and ask them to help put it together, worked every time. Thank you.
Great idea, fusible backing for pre-viewing or just a stable foundation. The liberty fabrics are just gorgeous. Year ago I tried a Water Color quilt. The painting was with 2"squares. Very similar to what you're doing, but it also had a design in the middle or a persons face, or perhaps a horse, etc. Definitely needed a big work space.
I do so enjoy your company. You make me laugh, and I find myself saying "Yes, I do that". I know just how you feel about fabric. My mouth waters in it's company. 🙂❤
I would thoroughly enjoy doing this...like doing a jigsaw puzzle. Not sure I have the amount of fabrics in that scale print. Can’t wait for part 2. Thank you Kate
Hullo, Kate. I just made a few mini quilts (or larger coasters) using this method. I used a 1" square and sewing with 1/4" seams, so the end square was 1/2". It's the mosaic method. Sooooo much fun!! and I always had perfect points. I couldn't go wrong. It's so nice and easy. Oh! I want to thank you so much for the recent postcard and sachet. I can definitely imagine those little squares made into larger pieces, line cushions. And the little stuffed dog! It's in with my lingerie with it's lavendar scent. Thank so much for sharing your liberty fabric. I feel honoured. I know how hard it you be for you to purchase more. Can you imagine???? We had snow yesterday and today. It didn't stick, but you can imagin how cold it was the last few days. -2C -5C, etc. By next wekend we\ll be up to +18C, more normal, finally! How are your drawers, Kate. Did we get those all purged out? LOLOL Have a great day and thank you again.
great! I'm glad you enjoyed the lavender - I was nearly asleep making them all ! stay warm - the weather here is a bit crazy too - hot at easter - freezing today! the plants don't know what is going on! xxx take care xxx
Thank you for the idea! I think I'll to stick to 2" squares or a little smaller hexies with the blue range Liberty 2" squares I purchased quite awhile ago.
Kate, I have books on this called Watercolor Quilting! It is absolutely stunning and I loved every moment! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity! You are amazing!
Beautiful! This is how I do my very tiny applique as well, I use the heat and bond to secure it before I sew. I must say your big box of tiny scraps of Liberty, made my heart race and my mouth water! 😁 Can't wait to see part 2! Dale from Canada
Talk about a jig saw puzzle...I tried to follow your reasoning and I didn't quite get it, but that's why your a quilter and I am not. That turned out so beautiful. I would frame that and hang it on my wall. Thank you for showing the process and I look forward to watching part 2. Have a Blessed day.
Just beautiful Kate, I have never seen a colourwash quilt in the assembly part and I think I am starting to fall for the Liberty fabrics.. ( don't think I will ever own any, but you never know...lol) xo :D
That is a real piece of art Kate, have never thought of doing that with all my scraps, probably much better with Liberty fabrics, but might be worth a try with fabrics I have in my stash. May give it a go! Blessings x
So relaxing that I almost took a post prandial nap after dinner and before a meeting. I am eager to see what's next. Thank you Kate÷ So envious of your Liberty scrap stash!!
Your moving fabric around and I am moving book around. How fun. My mother in law loved this kind of quilt tops. I have one of hers that needs quilting for my daughter. So pretty.
I don't sew (other than fixing a button or the occasional hem), but your fabric craft videos are so lovely that I thoroughly enjoy watching every one of them. I love how your arrangement of small fabric squares ended up looking both old-fashioned and modern at the same time. And I suspect your videos will result in an increased demand for the beautiful Liberty fabric!
Very pretty, I took a class in color wash quilting a long time ago. The 20" block hung on my sewing room wall for 15 years before I found the right project to use it. I made two fabric boxes. I love those little boxes.
I must have missed this one when I was going thru old videos when I found your channel. I have a bunch of blue 2" squares from Liberty and am thinking about making hexies with them. The fabrics are beautiful and it's amazing what you can do with such small pieces!
Lovely! I was recently given a few yards of gridded fusible interfacing and I’ve been dreaming of different art quilts that I can make with It. The Liberty fabric does blend so well. It’s nice knowing a long forgotten fabric can still work with a newly purchased one.
Lovely to see your creative thought process in action, did not skip (....but did turn the volume way down ☺️) love your video’s ‼️, thanks for sharing 😘
Thank you Kate I just love that fabric you have a great eye for matching fabric I get so excited when you post another tutorial love them all God bless xxxx💖
Hi, Kate! Love this idea of using fabric to make a pixelated picture. Very zen. You could (if you were completely daft) use smaller squares to form actual images...not going to do that. But I did love your map quilt of Britain. I told my hubby last night that I thought I might make a wall hanging of Texas using that technique. A good year's worth of couch sewing I think. LOL! I know you like knowing where we're from, so I'm from San Antonio, Texas. Found your channel and am quite addicted! Thank you for sharing your life and love of all things crafty. I even like the poultry vids. Oh, I finished my EPP dog a couple of days ago and he's now watching me in my sewing room. Great fun! Thanks!
That was absolutely lovely to watch. Between the lovely Liberty fabric, your creative mind in progress and that perfectly calm music this was so peaceful and meditative as I enjoyed my morning tea. Thank you for being you and allowing us to come along for a spell.
Love the pixel pictures and the music! There was a moment when I said, "No Kate, not that one there", but it was okay, in the end it was in a different place. Nicely done! Molly and I often spend an evening listening to music and playing with fabric squares. Thankfully I don't have to worry about her hopping on the table and scattering them about. At 105 pounds, she would send them flying everywhere. Now there's a visual, messy and extremely annoying, but very, very funny. Thanks Kate. Best!
Hello from Knoxville, Tennessee. USA. Thank you for your lovely video! I sat and untangled some yarn while I watched and when I looked down at my dogs pillow I noticed my cat laying there.....completely transfixed on the TV....watching you. So we both enjoyed it completely.
I've wanted to try this method but I don't have beautiful Liberty; I just have colourful fabric, so more of a random choice of placement haha - onto part 2 soon I hope :)
Absolutely gorgeous. I'm going to start looking for Liberty here in Utah . Small wall hangings like that in the window would be so wonderful in my tiny apartment. As always, thank you for your great creativity and willingness to share. I love your vids and watch them every day. I go clear back and then I come up to the current ones and then I rewatch them over and over. 🐱🐓🐔🐥🐦.
I love this video!! I’ve always wondered about this particular process of pixelated quilts, and I love that you are sharing your process with me and everyone else.
Hello Kate I liked the music it’s what I listen to as well [spa music]. It was nice to see where you put the pieces. Take care, from Linda, from Vancouver Island Canada. PS It was nice to see your Mom’s quilt tops. I also cherish things that were my Mom’s as well.
Hello Kate😀 Omgoodness, that is soooooo wonderful. I’ve been MIA if you will, just life happening. I’m so glad to be back with you; I’ve so missed not being up to date. Thank you and have s great day❤️
I have just been bitten by the Liberty bug! I just received my first charm pack from London today and I have never seen or felt such beautiful fabric. Thought at first not to use it but instead went online to Liberty Fabrics in the UK and bought more. I live in California. Pretty expensive but irresistible. I got Tana Lawn. There was a history on this website of the beginning of the fabric line. Very interesting. They also had some of the fabrics you showed here. Just beautiful is all I can say except to feel this as my husband says it's like silk but cotton. Thanks Kate 🤗🧵
This would certainly be my kind of fun. Tiny little start to a big happy ending🤗. All so worth the detail. Holding my breath for part 2 Kate, please hurry!!!
Lovely and soothing to watch . I didn't sleep well last night and of course I fell asleep and had to watch it again! Such beautiful fabrics and a good way to use up scraps. X
I love what you doing, i knitted a colourful owl got to stuff and sew it then i going to knit a sunflower, the pot and soil and then knit a backing to sew it all on. When i find some one to help me with a web site and you tube i then can show what i make. love sent lovely lady.
Hello Kate. I am watching along on old videos and new, and re visiting your Liberty series. I lost my little cache of Liberty in one of my two huge fabric armoires, and I finally found it as it had slipped behind some large bolts of fabric so they were well hidden. I've been unwell so watching "all things Liberty" has cheered me up especially as I've now found my fabrics. I've rooted around as I have a number of much older (some coming up to 50 years old) Laura Ashley fabrics, particularly her early dress fabrics, and these too are a lovely light weight like the Tala Lawn so I can mix and match them for a nice project when I feel up to it. Thanks for sharing. x
That was very interesting to watch. I felt like I was getting the hang of the process by the end. You are very fortunate to have so much liberty fabric. Can't wait for part 2. Thanks so much for sharing.
LOL, you were listening to me as I would say, "Kate, I think, it would look better over there." I would touch the screen and you would move over there. We did pretty well, I think. ;>)
Hi Kate, I had to mute and did skip forward just as you put the suggestion up! What an array of Liberty fabrics you have. I am curious to see what you do with this. Regards from Oz, Sue xx
I had heard of this technic but never really seen it done. So I'm looking forward to part 2. I cut up all my leftovers in tiny squares, but I have no idea what to make with them. I will keep this in mind. Thank you so much
It quite reminds of a fabric puzzle!! Love how it came together perfectly. Did not skip over either!! Love it Kate! After watching this and had to go order some Liberty fabric, now I’m excited can’t wait to see it and do a pixel pillow!!
Take Care, Love Kate
It’s like a beautiful jigsaw, shame I didn’t make it to the end, the music and scene made me so relaxed I fell asleep lol, thanks for this ASMR like video Kate.
Now this is funny…having just finished part two on 6/27/21. Of course I didn’t skip forward…I needed to see the process. I’m glad that I didn’t see this video earlier…I would have been searching for months trying to find part two.
Sorting by value isn't easy, unless you have an eye for it. You certainly do but some of us might need some help.i find it helps me if I don't think too much about it and rely on color sense. Lots of fun.

Love the colours Kate
Kate, it's absolutely mesmerizing! It brought back memories of when I needed to talk to my sons about something serious or important, I would get out a puzzle box and ask them to help put it together, worked every time. Thank you.
prefect! I used to do those chats while driving - very good time - they can't go anywhere and I'm not looking at them - worked a treat! xxx

Hello Kate It's like doing a jigsaw puzzle love doing them when the time allows love the colours forming out 😊
I would thoroughly enjoy doing this...like doing a jigsaw puzzle. Not sure I have the amount of fabrics in that scale print. Can’t wait for part 2. Thank you Kate
lol was thinking same. I kept saying oh oh that one there.
Thank you Kate. I really enjoyed it This would be a project I would like to do.. I'm surprised Norma didn't come over to help you sort the squares.😁
Norma was gently placed in the sitting room behind closed doors! one wander across the loose squares would have me starting all over again!!! xx
Doing that, just looks like pure heaven, and you do it really well.

Where I am, 1 meter €35😇, but I bought some fabrics from Japan with similar designs
❤fascinating...and liberty fabrics r one of the very few lines that they all go together
That is a real piece of art Kate, have never thought of doing that with all my scraps, probably much better with Liberty fabrics, but might be worth a try with fabrics I have in my stash. May give it a go! Blessings x

love to have a blanket made with all the variations of green....beautiful
greens are less common in liberty - reds/pink/blues/lilacs yrs - but green - not so much xxx
Lovely! I was recently given a few yards of gridded fusible interfacing and I’ve been dreaming of different art quilts that I can make with It. The Liberty fabric does blend so well. It’s nice knowing a long forgotten fabric can still work with a newly purchased one.

So that's how it's done, well worth the extra efforts, your color wash effect is beautiful.
Such a nice calming process to watch 💕💕
Love watching you work with these wonderful Liberty fabrics. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Sorting by value isn't easy, unless you have an eye for it. You certainly do but some of us might need some help.i find it helps me if I don't think too much about it and rely on color sense. Lots of fun.
Beautiful piece and love the music
WOW! Beautiful
