Does anyone listen to Christmas music all year round!!!? I cant be the only one!? But on the actual day you dont have the same happiness. As the years pass it just seems to become less important, and just a major headache. Through the year it brings me joy! And this one is definitely on the list!
Christmas used to be a time of family and happiness for me. My grandparents and dad have all passed away the last few years and my siblings and I have grown apart and live states away, something I never dreamed would happen. This song hits so hard.
Mom passed December 18. 1 week before Christmas. I feel like she’s finally stepped in & sent HER. This year I’m actually smiling….I’m actually happy. I’ve found LOVE with someone that I’m positive mom sent.
Still a favorite of mine, I listen to it every December. I love the original grinch n this came from that so yeah I still listen to it n I still watch the grinch every December. Talk bout memories
This song is one of the most bittersweet Christmas songs ever. I remember as a kid I didn't think about the meaning of this song, but as I get older, it hits hard. All my siblings have moved away to escape our parents alcoholism and narcissism, and they don't visit anymore because of it. It used to be me, my 3 sisters, my brother, my mom, grandmom, and my aunt Linda. Now, it's just me, my mom, and my grandma. Christmas just feels so empty and lonely nowadays. I try to spread cheer at work and call my siblings and wish them Merry Christmas, but it doesn't really fill the void of missing my family and longing for the days when we were all together. But I think once I'm able to start living on my own I may find Christmas again
I hate how fast we grow man. We take advantage of our childhood, not realising how lucky some of us were. You’ll find Christmas again, trust me… but it will never be the same as the one you knew. However u can still make it special again, in a new way that works for you. Also I’m sorry you had to endure a relationship with your family like this. But the fact ur still able to try and find ur meaning of Christmas just proves how resilient and therefore amazing you are! Merry Christmas :)
I really relate to you. My family has split up from narc abuse, alcoholism and splitting off into cliques due to triangulation; while excluding and discarding members who speak out against the controlled abuse narrative. Im sorry for you and us both. I hope we both find it again.
Faith Hill is the Cindy Crawford of country music. She is absolutely stunningly gorgeous 😆😌🤍.. And I love her voice! Legit some of the best vocals. Like up there with Whitney.
I miss the Christmas spirit and the magic of Christmas. When you become an adult, a part of you, the hopeful, positive and always happy part simply dies.
I'm asking myself this same question this year. I just lost my father in July and it's still turning my world upside down. This will be my first Christmas without him around. I'm finding it almost impossible to keep my spirit up. Thank God for my fiance who is always there to cheer me up and make me feel like I can go on living, and maybe someday I'll be alright.
Brings me straight back to Christmas time in 2000. My parents took me and my cousin to see the movie & it’s one of the greatest Christmas memories I have. Brings a tear to eye. I wanna go back to when Christmas was pure magic and meant everything 😢
This song is beautiful. In 10 years I lost first my mom then my husband. They both loved Christmas. Everyone comes to my house for Christmas Eve. It was hard but I still do it, knowing they would want me too. Thank God for my 4 kids and their kids.
Damn the lyrics hit hard, one year you’re laughing and enjoying the holidays and the next one you feel that something isn’t right for whatever reason, something that makes you question and often blame yourself for not being happy on a date when it seems it’s mandatory to be jolly and full of love. Never really listened to the lyrics even though I watch this movie almost every year, and man it really describes what am feeling. Anyway for anyone reading this stupid comment from a sad stranger, I hope you have a peaceful Christmas.
Beautiful, touching 😥 (at least imo) song undoubtedly on the one hand but amazing, powerful and delicate 😊 voice of Faith - these two questions together cause tears of emotion flow down from my male's eyes.
Totally. It screams “Mariah” from the moment Faith Hill (who’s a fantastic singer herself) starts humming the ad lib. Even Hill’s tone sounds at times like Mariah’s, and the melody is very Mariah.
While others would say All I Want For Christmas is their favorite Christmas song, it's great coincidence that this one was also written by none other than Mariah. But that's probably no coincidence 🙂.
My favorite Christmas movie. This hits home for a couple reasons. My dad died in November of that year that it came out. We never celebrated Christmas growing up and was very much a Grinch-like character. He came to know Jesus as His Savior in the year that he died. He came to know what true love was. He went from someone who had a hard heart to someone who heart was softened by redeeming love of the Lord.
My mother and father divorced near to when this song released. With the family split apart, holidays felt differently than before. ... my world is changing... I'm rearranging... does that mean Christmas changes too? This song takes me back to the year 2000 powerfully.
It’s interesting to read how this song feels for so many people. I can’t say this song hits hard for me exactly as everyone else, but I know the pain of Christmas losing the spark. It’s worse when you were more excited about the holiday back in the day, or more accurately last year. It’s hard to be able to celebrate christmas when your family betrayed your back, you got wrongfully evicted from your home, and one of your parents does not want you to decorate the house because the previously mentioned experiences was traumatic for them as well. All this happened in one year. I really wish I get that Christmas spirit back. It’s a holiday period where I feel so warm and feel the spirit. And to lose it just would be painful.
Wow.. all this happened to me last year too.. brother died, family turned on me, lost my home... crazy to think someone out there is experiencing something so similar to me.. hopefully you're doing better now mate
@@owengleeson6782 Same, I’m like a teenager and decided to search up this song since the grinch is one of my fav Christmas movies and looked at the comments and read the lyrics of the song. I thought the reason i wasn’t excited about Christmas anymore as much as I was 4 years and longer ago was because I was older and that’s probably part of the reason, but in 2012 as a 6 year old, it would unknowingly be the last Christmas I’d have with my mom….She died exactly a week after Christmas on January 1, 2013…..Maybe it’s because of that and the fact I’m a teenager now….turning 16 in just 5 days…December 14th…the Christmas spirit just doesn’t hit the same since I’m older and the trauma I probably buried due to my mother’s death……and the fact we used to have Christmas at my aunts house 3 hours away with the whole family, but since 2019 we’ve usually stayed home with just 8 people….yeah 8 people seems like a lot but we have a whole large family lol…..So not visiting everybody on Christmas since 2018, getting older, and my mom dying a week after Christmas are probably reasons why Christmas hasn’t hit the same in 4 years…..
I lost my Father in march of 2021.This hits hard when i hear this beautiful song.Dads birthday is right on Christmas.I will always love you dad.Enjoy Christmas in Heaven with Mom.
As we grow older for us 2000s kids the feeling of Christmas starts to wear off but when we have kids we’ll show them what Christmas was really like back in the 2000s joy and laughter. And just because it wears off doesn’t mean it’s gonna go away forever from your heart.
@Cathy Berry Mariah Carey wrote a full-length pop version of the song with additional lyrics, renamed "Where Are You Christmas?", for the film's soundtrack. The song was originally recorded by Carey, but because of a legal case with her ex-husband Tommy Mottola, it could not be released, so it was re-recorded and released by Faith Hill.[2] A CD single of Hill's rendition was released December 11, 2000.
Not sure why you can't believe it. Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas. Her first Christmas album included a similarly sad Christmas song called "Miss You Most at Christmas". It's beautiful. Check it out if you haven't heard it.
I live for Christmas. This is such a wonderful song for so many reasons. But especially when you can't find joy in your heart...just remember Christmas.
To me, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is one of the best movies ever made. The cast was fantastic & Jim Carey…well there are not sufficient words…❣️ he was amazingly great. Thanku for ur sacrifice JC. It was hard for you to get in costume every day. Take care…ur fan, Mary🎄😊🙃
My aunt passed away from a long battle of cancer. She was so brave and still soldiered forward everyday until the end and she was always a beacon of joy and happiness when we were with her, even through all the chemo, the pain, she still radiated so much positivity and happiness. This is our first Xmas without her and this song makes me think of her and how every holiday won’t be the same without her anymore.
2023 was one of the hardest years for me. From losing an uncle, to losing my last grandparent--I never dealt with losing someone, until now in my adult life, i always feared losing your loved one. My grandmother always loved Christmas. I hope she is with her son (my uncle), and her husband, my grandfather I wish I met.
I've always loved this song. Wait to hear it on the radio every year. Sadly, less and less. Means more to me now that my dad is getting dementia. I gave him an enlarged picture of us holding hands in 1973. He pointed to the man in uniform and asked, who is this. Then asked, why all the ribbons.....I'm...sorry...give me a moment. The ribbons are his medals. It makes me cherish this day....as I don't know what's to come next Christmas. I would send the picture if I could.
The song reminds me of me and my mom my mom's favorite season was Christmas and Autumn and Christmas time was her favorite time of the year I think the time of giving and Thanksgiving and gratefulness and thankfulness in the spirit of Christmas and every heart in the world that night and that morning and enjoy it wasn't about I was about family in the spirit a newness a coming avenue restoration reclaiming all by the spirit and a joyful manner of peace and harmony so I dedicate this song to the greatest woman in my life my mom and heaven now I hope this is some place in heaven to you because I think this is really your soul produced and my life with you amen
One of my favorite Christmas songs. I’ve loved this song since I was 5 when I saw The Grinch It’s so true what the song says. The world is changing and there are times that we feel that Christmas just isn’t the same. However as long as we all have love and kindness in our hearts, the joy of Christmas lives on
Shout out to Jim Carey for enduring the psychological and physical torture of costume and makeup everyday of filming to make this movie a reality. Not all heroes wear capes
I’m in a christmas mood. I’m 27 and yes I know it’s July but my heart is already enjoying the Christmas season. For years from the age of 14 to 25 I endured such numbing depression and so many losses, my grandma, three uncles passed away;my parents divorced; I was homeless for one Christmas in 2018 ; trauma & ptsd from a physical, mental, emotionally, sexually abusive abusive relationship for years. after settling in with my sister ; my mom is not remarried but she’s happy and my dad is remarried. I left that relationship & I resonated with this song too much. I’m sitting here and singing this song with tears cuz I’m finally going to enjoy Christmas this year! And I’m just enjoying it so early now ! 🎄
Faith, you truly are angelic. The way you sing this song and how beautiful you are makes it an all time classic, and I sing with you and get goosebumps! ⭐👼🙏🎄🌨
Mariah Carey wrote this version for Faith and there's a Mariah version floating around somewhere out there. I wish we could hear it. And I wish Faith and Mariah could have done it as a duet live while they were both in their prime. That would have been amazing.
Got a bit emotional listening to this as adult as I realise now this time of year has changed to how I remember it when I was a child. As time moves on and the more Christmases you have - it never becomes less and less special but you don’t feel the same way as you used to before. x Peace and love to all.
Over the years, I've lost so many of my loved ones: My cousin Richard (Age 17), my uncle Luis (Age 23), my great grandparents Grandma Lydia and Grandpa Joe (80+), my auntie Virgie (70+), my aunt Vanessa, who was also like a 2nd mom to me (50+), Grandma Margie (80+) aunt Lola (60+) I'll never forget each and every one of them for as long as I live. They've given me so much as I was growing up. It breaks my heart that I lost so many, but I know that deep in my heart, they're resting in peace. So to all my loved ones who're gone... Thank you so much for everything. I love you all deeply with all my heart and I'll keep moving forward. Our family Christmases will never be the same without you. ;(
What have we become, whatever happened to family sharing Christmas. Time to start your own memories before it all gone. Merry Christmas and may you have a happy future.
I had never heard this song until today. I think it's probably the most beautiful song I've ever heard.. Merry Christmas Everyone! ❤️🎄🎅🎁🤶 I found some Christmas spirit! 🎄🎅🎁🤶

Both this & Josh Groban's "Believe" from The Polar Express are played on the radio.

Im sorry for your loss, she is now in a better place watching over you🕊
What happened to her?
Christmas is really gonna tell me something this year
Me to
This song means so much to me since I lost my parents yrs ago this was there favorite time of year this song keeps them alive 💔
This was like an early 2000 tradition They would have a professional singer and then they would play clips of the movie with them
This! “Journey To The Past” Aaliyah tease
This song makes me ball my eyes out. Miss my parents and grandparents. And friends who have passed on. I pray we all can find joy this. 2019 Christmas
I Totally Agrees 👌🏾👍🏾. Makes me misses all my family & child hood Christmassy....Also it's July it makes me misses Christmas my favorite time ...😃
❤️
I sang this song for my audition and I got the part! I’m now in a movie so this song has a special place in my heart ♥️
One day we'll get to hear Mariah's version. Still, Faith Hill's vocals are amazing and has made this my ultimate favorite Christmas song.
As we grow older for us 2000s kids the feeling of Christmas starts to wear off but when we have kids we’ll show them what Christmas was really like back in the 2000s joy and laughter. And just because it wears off doesn’t mean it’s gonna go away forever from your heart.
Happy Twenty Years to this song and video 🥺😩😞
Just saw this movie tonight can’t wait for Christmas 🎄

Cant believe Mariah Carey wrote this! So amazing 🥰
@@babyduarte86 WTF was wrong with Tommy though?!🤦🏻♂️
Mariah Carey wrote pretty much all her own songs. She is a singer/song-writer 🙂💫🎶🎵
She is the best of the best
Not sure why you can't believe it. Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas. Her first Christmas album included a similarly sad Christmas song called "Miss You Most at Christmas". It's beautiful. Check it out if you haven't heard it.
I live for Christmas. This is such a wonderful song for so many reasons. But especially when you can't find joy in your heart...just remember Christmas.
❤😅😅
To me, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is one of the best movies ever made. The cast was fantastic & Jim Carey…well there are not sufficient words…❣️ he was amazingly great. Thanku for ur sacrifice JC. It was hard for you to get in costume every day. Take care…ur fan, Mary🎄😊🙃
I love Faith Hill she is 1 of my favorite singers
What a beautiful song. Faith Hill, such a gorgeous voice and woman.
I love Faith Hill and this song she sings for Christmas!
2023 was one of the hardest years for me. From losing an uncle, to losing my last grandparent--I never dealt with losing someone, until now in my adult life,
i always feared losing your loved one. My grandmother always loved Christmas. I hope she is with her son (my uncle), and her husband, my grandfather I wish I met.
Favorite movie soundtrack still til this day
I've always loved this song.
Whether its Christmas time or not..this song always bring meaningful vibes to me
This song reminds me when I was 14.
I watched the movie with my brother❤
The good old times!

What a voice! The perfect blend of pop and country with gospel roots 💓🙌
One of my favorite Christmas songs. I’ve loved this song since I was 5 when I saw The Grinch
It’s so true what the song says. The world is changing and there are times that we feel that Christmas just isn’t the same. However as long as we all have love and kindness in our hearts, the joy of Christmas lives on
OMG, I too was 5 when this film came out. I remember me and my mom listening to this song during the credits ❤️

sitting here and singing this song with tears cuz I’m finally going to enjoy Christmas this year!

I'm so sorry for your loss 😔 my mom passed away ten years ago around the holidays 😭😭😭 and I miss her so much 😭😭😭😭
Im sorry for you loss, she is now in a better place watching over you 🕊
@@laurag8126 same....well, I mean I did lose a loved one, my mother on January 1, 2013, an exact week after Christmas in 2012.
Over the years, I've lost so many of my loved ones: My cousin Richard (Age 17), my uncle Luis (Age 23), my great grandparents Grandma Lydia and Grandpa Joe (80+), my auntie Virgie (70+), my aunt Vanessa, who was also like a 2nd mom to me (50+), Grandma Margie (80+) aunt Lola (60+)
I'll never forget each and every one of them for as long as I live. They've given me so much as I was growing up. It breaks my heart that I lost so many, but I know that deep in my heart, they're resting in peace. So to all my loved ones who're gone... Thank you so much for everything.
I love you all deeply with all my heart and I'll keep moving forward. Our family Christmases will never be the same without you. ;(
This song is so bittersweet to me. The whole magic of the Christmas season has vanish ever since I got older. This song seriously reflects that.
So wonderful. Christmas exists because of these feelings.
I love singing this song. Faith Hill is a Goddess!!!
Tbh as I get older, I start to relate more and more to this song.
You can totally tell that Mariah Carey wrote this song. This song is SO HER!!!!
