She did it LIVE. No lip-synching BS here. It was authentic and genuine, and stands up well to the “studio” version. KC has a SOARING voice, and she has given us a modern classic Christmas song that will still be played 100 years from now.

Let me say something here. Mariah's song is magic, it's something that doesn't happen everyday. While Mairah's is number one on the charts, Kelly's doesn't even chart. While Mariah's music got a third music video with10 millions views already, kelly's only video got 13.276.590. That's a prove that Mariah's not losing strength at all. Mariah's song is very simple and nostalgic, Kelly's sounds like bad copy of all I want for christmas is you. I love Kelly, but Mariah's song was already famous since day one, it was not the top of the charts, but it was already a hit. Kelly's got a long way to go, but yet this song will never be a classic because it doesn't have the power to move all generations. Mariah is already a tradition, something very hard to get, not everybody got that to their credit. So stop trying to dim Mariah's impact, because it's not gonna happen, it is already part of american history.

This will eventually become one of the top Christmas songs if not the top Christmas song at some point. I know everyone associates Mariah Carey with Christmas, but when she originally released her Christmas album back in 1994, every radio station and TV station was still playing Bing Crosby, either "White Christmas" or "The Little Drummer Boy" duet with David Bowie.

Katie Seymour Always WHITE CHRISTMAS IN BUFFALO, NY. Lake Erie dumps 10 feet of snow every winter. At least we got the Lake for summer fun even if its only 3 months. Drives BUFFALOIANS crazy why Buffalo gets more snow than other Citys near 5 Great Lakes. Lake Erie frezzes over every winter sometimes Ice is still in the Lake in May. Buffalo is a Border City CANADA is our Neighbor. If you go to Canada you need to exchange American $ to Canadaian $. Theres so much traffic between US & Canada theres 5 Bridges 3 in Niagara Falls & 2 in Buffalo. Niagara Falls is only a 30 minute drive from Buffalo. 1 good thing were called Miami of the North because we get lots of 90 degree days in summer.

Kelly Clarkson is someone who never receives enough credit for her talent. Obvious her fans are crazy nuts about her, but more mainstream acknowledgement for her singing talent, is needed, IMHO.

Same feel as Richard Marx's "Christmas Spirit" (2012) and BOTH Darlene hits: "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" (1963) and her Home Alone 2 song "All Alone On Christmas" (1992), which also references her '63 hit. I think Marx was going for a Spector-al feel too...

She has one of those extremely rare voices that can do anything. Musical Theatre, Pop, Classical, you name it. With that wide range, powerful vibrato and her exceptionally good diction give her great versatility with her talent. :D
