I followed this to the letter and it went fantastic. Nice work. Nothing against dealerships (ok well maybe lol) but they quoted just over $2000 to change out the BCM for a right signal light that would not work. Reading online I discovered it was a bad IC in the BCM and bought a used one for around $30. Got the VCX and followed the video and all is now well. Not to mention its a fairly decent diagnostic tool. I was able to do a Crankshaft Sensor reset and look at quite a few items under the hood. I did have some issues with the airbag but discovered another actual error with them and was able to locate the issue with the VCX. Thank you for putting this out there. Truly appreciated.

I have a 2015 gmc 2500, my truck was originally from Canada but I bought it in the US. I am not able to turn my headlights off when the truck is in drive and it is dark outside. I need this feature to go through security gates at my job as well as not blind people at the boat launch early mornings. Will this allow me to change the headlight setting in the BCM?
What were some of the systems you were having problems with, mine no spark or injector pulse so far was fuel pump no ground or signal from computer so no trouble codes either

Is the vcx nano still the best budget programmer for this ? I have a 09 Tahoe and I need to change some settings as it was a police vehical I'm pretty sure they disabled the drl's and the auto turn on lights when it gets dark.
How did you add the vin after purchasing subscription?
I have a subscription but it does not show my trucks vin ? Do I add it because I have the same vx nano but it won't detect it
I am new, brand new, no previous experience new to any kind d of programming/tuning. My 2001 5.3 keeps draining the battery and I exhausted all methods known to me to find the slow leak with no success. Mechanic inspected and suggested the BCM likely needed replaced. After watching your videos many times as well as some on Goat Rope Garage, my confidence was high. I had a degree of success but my truck won't start after the reprogram. Also noticed that there are not the many options shown in your video...4 modules and 5 under the BCM. Also having issues with Tech2win, says not licensed and I don't know if there's a special way to launch it or something else I'm missing. This is a lot to unpack..but any help is appreciated.

Hey man , I got a 2017 Dodge Charger Scatpack with many BCM issues so I bought a used BCM I found for 90 bucks and now the dealership is saying I have to pay 150 to reprogram it and 400 to install it also and I’m not trying to do that lol you think this method would work for my year car since it’s kind of newer?
Can i program a vehicle to have cruise if it does not with this set up ??

Great video. My BCM has gone out. I have no highbeams or AC and my air bag light cam on all about the same time. I ordered the VCX nano and a new BCM and I purchased the ACDelco software. Hopefully this fixes my issues.
I have a 2006 SA Vue with a possible bad BCM. Did this process work out for you?

$109 I got the VCX Nano from Amazon. It does not come with software that will cost you a extra $75 for GM from VCX. Too much for something to see IF ... It works. The FREE version of software does not work. I have screenshots step by step of error messages... IF you feel like you want to debate me on that - I followed your instructions perfectly. Checking the GM box gives you Toyota.
I received a call from Shanghai CHINA at one point.
$184 = IF it works... I can get the dealer to program my stuff for that much.

Do you think this would work for Global A vehicles? I've got a 2017 Chevy Sonic. I installed fog lights and the dealer won't program them talking about needing an Auth code.

Just had a GM dealer tell me that SPS revoked the rights to enable/disable fog lights and DRL on older units (2002) Have you run into this at all with your subscriptions?
Will this device work with Mazda vehicles like the cx9?
Did the replacement module have the old vin in it? Does the programming overwrite the old vin with the real vin?

Are you able to disable start stop feature. It’s incredibly annoying at every red light or heavy traffic.

What if the ignition won't turn on? The key does but it doesn't do anything that's why I'm replacing my bcm

Hi, I'm about to buy an MDI2 device to diagnose my Saab 9-5NG, but I've found Your film, and I have to say I'm a bit confused now... MDI are expensive (originals), even clones are at least 2x more expensive than VCXnano. Do I understand that using the device You showed in this film lets us get all the same functionality as MDI, like tracing faulty parking sensors, burnt bulbs or... programming BCMs?? i just watched this video, sounds like something I am going to give a shot. I have a 2006 cadillac cts, we bought couple months ago and had a problem pop up with the front turn signals coming on and staying on. I have done alot of research and it seems this may be a bcm problem. I just wanted to verify what all I would need to buy to replace my bcm with a used one. The ACdelcoTDS program obviously, but then do i need the Tech2 software? Assuming i need an OBDII adapter to usb, for connection to my laptop. i have my own OBDII sensor, not an expensive one though.
You won’t need the Tech2 software, just a cable (I’d recommend one of the OBDX Pro cables) and access to a TDS subscription. I’ve been told the process has changed a bit since I made this video, I’ll look into updating it.
How did you add your vin?
Anytime u update a module always clear ur dtcs.. learned this when I worked at a chrysler dealership

Yes I went through the process you detailed in your video and received an error message at the end of BCM reprogramming. I remember in a previous video you purchased Tech 2 on a 3 day trial did you still have that software in the system when you loaded the programs from VX Diag Nano?
No I deleted all of the previous software before installing the VCX Nano software. I’m not sure what could be causing that.

Great information in this video. I have a 2006 Sa Vue that has been showing signs of a bad BCM, i.e., erratic fuel gauge, radio not working, cruise ctrl not working at times....and tonight, stalling, jerking when trying to accelerate, security light on while the vehicle is running, etc. Do you think these programming tools will reprogram a new bcm.....I have one on the way? Thanks!
Will this work on a 2014 Caprice? I need a NEW BCM and don't want to deal with the dealer.
It should work, the process may be different in some details so this video may not apply exactly but it would still be done with the SPS system through the AC Delco TDS website.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. But with this I can properly fix turn indicator Hyperflash. I have a 2013 suburban with Bcm controlled blinkers.

Question: I purchased the VXDIAG Nano and set it up with no problems. Purchased the 24 mon vehicle programming software from AC Delco but, it only says available not active any hints on getting it to active? BCM issue on 07 Avalanche.
Have you connected to the vehicle yet? I think mine may have said available until I connected to the vehicle for the first time.
Does the ACDelco / VCX Nano allow for PCM (powertrain control module) programming ~~ Anybody know??

If you're good at soldering then you can just replace the 8 pin eeprom from your old bcm to the new one. No need to pack for a vxdiag and the acdelco stuffs 😁
what if the eeprom is burnt and thats why the bcm needs to be replaced?

Is this procedure/VCX module/software the same for a 2004 C5 Z06? I need to replace and reprogram the BCM, and possibly the ECU/PCM on my car that took some flood damage.

I don't use QGIS much but occasionally use it to make my own maps from government data for 4x4ing and exploring the backcountry.

Im about to do this on my car. My BCM has a ton of issues. Question, will the reset effect the key security? Will the car still recognize the key fobs after its done? Or thats not an issue?
It wasn’t a problem when I did mine, the key fobs worked normally after the BCM swap.
Hello after purchasing the 2 year subscription for my vehicle how do I add the vin without downloading the software ( tech line connect ). When I selected add vin I get redirect to download the files . And so I did the. I get a message I can’t connect do to proxy settings would you know how to fix this. Thank you for your time

Hey Randy, I’m a little behind. Glad to see you throwing up some content! Do you happen to know if using this programmer and software if you can permanently get rid of the TPMS crap. Like you I’m not running the sensors and just tired of the warning.
No unfortunately this won’t work to disable the TPMS system, it will only program whatever options came with the VIN from the factory. There is a guy in the states that does custom BCM programming, that’s the only way I know of to disable TPMS. I’d love to learn how to do that but the guys who know how to do it are pretty secretive about their methods. Nice hearing from you again though!

I believe when using the 'replace ecm' option you should be starting the process with the original controller in place so the configuration can be retrieved and loaded into the new unit. I'm not sure if that would simplify the process or not?

@@LowbuckLS is it possible to hook up your laptop directly to the vehicle's usb ports? or is the scanner tool required to communicate with the vehicle and laptop?
@@jayway8612 I don't think it would work to connect directly to a USB port on the vehicle, you need some kind of interface between the computer and the vehicle.

Hi, do you have any idea of how to setup SDM primary key in BCM for a 2014 chevy silverado, I bought the vcx nano to do the same procedure that yo did but I didn’t realize the tech2win won’t work on models 2014 above.
There’s gotta be a way to do it with the GDS2 application, unfortunately I don’t have a GDS2 compatible vehicle to connect to, and I can’t see the menus without being connected to a vehicle.

Hello, Does anyone activate the fog lights in BCM in 2019 Buick Encore? I have the Encore without the forg lights and i got fog lights, the front end harness and light switch from another junked Encore. When plugged in headlights work as they used to, but fog lights dont. I have traced all wires from the switch to BCM and from BCM to under hood fuse box, from fuse box to fog lights, and all is there. I can manually turn the fog lights on, by overriding the BCM, and applying the "-" to the wire from BCM to fuse box, just to prove the point all is workin fine, but BCM. If anyone knows how to acivate it please let me know. (FYI i can easily do it in Chrysler and Ford vehicles via AlfaOBD or ForScan, but cannot find a way with GM using GDS2)
Did you find a solution? I am wondering if swapping the BCM, without programming, would solve the issue.

Hi Randy. I'm prepping to replace the BCM in a 2011 Sierra 1500. The issue is the driver side turn signals (front & back) don't work but the hazards, passenger side turn signals and brake lights all work fine. I did the obvious and replaced the multi-switch in the steering column and checked/cleaned the wiring connectors between the BCM and the steering column (the top green plug I believe). I think this is an awesome video and will be giving it a try to see if a BCM replacement fixes the issue. I've got two questions I'm hoping you could answer: 1. Can Microsoft Edge work as the browser or does it have to be Internet Explorer? and 2. I noticed that there was no "key relearn" needed when you programmed the replacement BCM - was that because the ignition key you used to turn the truck to "ON" is automatically learned while the new program is being installed in the BCM? I'm hoping to have this done in about 10 days or so and will post an update here. Thanks again for the video!!!
Hi Randy. Here's my follow-up. It took a bit of effort to get the VCX Nano software loaded properly after it arrived a couple of days ago. The unit didn't come with the installation DVD and the programs like GDS2 and Tech2Win wouldn't install properly from the online link on the VXDIAG website (as administrator and with antivirus/firewalls turned off). Initially I did try loading the individual *.exe files for all the programs but the Tech2Win program wouldn't really work (I think it had to do with the MDI software missing something). I did find a 1.01 GB image (iso) file called "VXDIAG GM 2020.07 GDS2, Tech2Win and VX Manager 2021-04" under the heading of "GM DIAG" about 4/5th's down the page for this link: www.vxdiagshop.com/info/download/ that I eventually used to burn my own "Install DVD" which loaded like a charm for the GDS2 and Tech2Win programs. For some reason VX Manager wasn't installing without errors from the disk so I went to this site to install the Mar-21 version of VX Manager (which loaded with no issues): www.vxdiag.net/?lang=en Once the programming was installed I tried it out in the Sierra to confirm everything worked. Then I swapped in the BCM I got from a local Pick'n Pull yard and downloaded the new BCM program from the ACDelco TDS site (recent subscription still at $53.00 Cdn) just like you did in the video and it installed smoothly. One thing was when I tried to install the J2534 wrapper software I got a message that it didn't install. The good news is everything seemed to work ok without it. After all that I used Tech2Win to setup the SBM primary key and then tried out the Driver's side signal lights - which worked like a charm! Now I have to do a "crankshaft position variation" relearn (error P0315) and that should do it. Thank you so much Randy for making these videos to help do-it-yourselfers like me. Sharing your hard earned knowledge is greatly appreciated!
So what are you doing now that gm has blocked this feature? Just a year ago I was able to program a used bcm to my 2016 Chevrolet Cruze but now with this tech line I can't do it on an 2015 Malibu I just got.
What has GM blocked? The nano is used as a passthrough for the acdelco SPS2 software... ?

Randy, did you ever get an error that the vin couldn’t be read? As well I don’t see a vxc nano option to select only the two Bosch units that you had at the top. Oh, I’m not sure where to add the vin for my one vehicle subscription for two years. Thank you

I’m having the same issue. I get an error message that says the username and password is already in use when I click add vin. Still sends me to start sps. Follow all the same steps but I don’t see the j2435 wrapper and it doesn’t see my vcx nano. I even tried opening a new account with a different email to see if I screwed something up. And I get the same thing. Did you resolve this issue?
I did figure it out. I didn’t have the j2435 installed in the tool settings. Now I’m getting errors when attempting to program the module (climate control seat module)
@@jeffgarner3903 how did you get it installed. I don’t have a driver showing up in settings either. When I run sps I don’t see the wrapper but a tech2 j2534 driver does show up. Is that what you installed?

Randy doesn't the mileage come from the BCM? How do you keep the correct mileage on the odometer in the donor BCM? Also what windows version are you using? They say windows 7 with 64 bit works best. Good video.
The mileage must not be stored in the BCM, it might be stored in the instrument cluster or something because the mileage on the odometer is correct even after swapping the BCM, I don’t need to do anything special. I’m using Windows 10.

@@jayway8612 No it's not possible to do it that way, would be nice but you need an interface tool between the computer and the vehicle.

When you place the module with the same number, do you need to program it too?
Yes, serial part number can go for more than one car, the BCM need to be programmed for your specific car.
So...I changed the injection module on my Silverado and here in Brazil no one can program it, what would be the best option
