Hello My Beautiful People! Welcome back! Tonight I am pouring onto a ceramic gnome, a Tomte, for Christmas. These little gnomes are enchanting, I find them so cute and when I found one I could pour on I was very excited! I have poured on a few pottery animals before, including a peacock, a horse, a lion and a couple of cats and turtles.. I love to put them in my garden for a touch of whimsy and a smile. This little guy came out so cute, I named him Gnomeo because he stole my heart, I hope you like him too! Lets get started!

I asked HoA to tape off the Gnomeo's body so I could pour on his hat only. He wrapped the body in cling wrap and used blue painters tape to secure it and create a clean edge. It worked perfectly! I removed the tape and cling wrap once the paint on the hat was dry.

in Any of My Paint.
I filled both outer chambers of the split cup with Bordeaux red because I wanted his hat to be predominantly red. Whatever is on the outer chambers shows up more, so I wanted to double my chances of the red really being the star of the show.
I really like that I used both 24 K Gold and the Bronze.. they both show up and work beautifully together! I'm definitely going to play with this idea some more.
I poured the cup onto the top of Gnomeo's hat and let the paint slide down.. I really love the patterns that it created! The next day when it was dry I removed the tape and cling wrap and then painted the rest of him with a brush. I used some DecoArt Satin Enamels in pure white to cover any areas where I accidentally got some red. I used Golden Iridescent Pearl White for his beard, DecoArts Emerald Green for his coat and an combination of Arteza Bordeaux Red and DecoArt Obsidian for his shoes. I think he turned out adorable. I especially like his nose hahaha..
I had a 12x12 canvas under the gnome as I poured it, and I used the drips as my basecoat. I filled my cup again and poured into a puddle of Bordeaux Red, a straight pour from up high. I love the feathery wispy bits in this, as well as the interaction between the gold and pearl and bronze. It reminds me of a pine cone with wings hahaha... what do you see?
After all the paint was dry I applied a coat of Rustoleum Triple Thick Glaze all over him, to protect him and give us some beautiful shine and sparkle to the metallics.

Hi Mina & HOA! I’m a Swede, living in France. The Tomte wants rice porridge with cinnamon, sugar and milk. He also wants some gingerbread cookies, that will keep him happy! He walks around at night checking the place and controls that nothing is going wrong. His clothes are either grey or red. On rare occasions he might have a green jacket 😉 I think that what you saw as feet might be his gloves 😂 Anyway I think he looks adorable ❤️

PS you could make your own gnome with concrete poured into a stocking and then you tie off his nose while it’s still wet. Just put the stocking down and stretch it up and tie the top to something to keep the hat straight 🎅🏼

@@MinaVillegasArt Oh, please do share a photo if possible. I don't have all the ones that I gathered over the years. I moved to NE and in with my son and family 8 years ago, so I had to consolidate from a 14 ft x 54 ft mobile home to a bedroom. So, most of my things didn't make the move. The 2 most important ones did though. My 2 cats came with. Though I lost Wilbur 4 years ago after he had 6 seizures within a few hours. I still have my lil girl, Precious and she just turned 16 years old this month. Sorry so totally rambled here I know your busy. Merry Christmas! 🤶

Mina, my Father was born in Sweden. I have been to Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Came back with Gnomes, and Trolls. Authentic Gnomes have arms, those make in the US without arms are not the real deal!! FYI !! I have SO many now.. LOL

Hi Mina! Long time no see 😀 I am from Sweden and Gnomes ( tomtar, plural) is a must in Christmas. It's true what you said about putting a plate with porrige on the doorstep on Christmas evening.
