Welcome to my channel, Joyce Farkas Fluid Art, I don’t profess to be a teacher, but enjoy sharing my knowledge and my take on the growing and ever changing world of Fluid Art. So welcome, please like and subscribe, and let's paint!
Tammy DeCaro Art has been doing these festive trees for years, and is offering a kit that you can order from her, with all supplies you need to make these beautiful trees. These guys are so popular I found them all over Etsy, and websites for sale, so I'm hoping thats a good sign for sales!
But if a kit from Tammy isnt what you want, here is what I used in these Holiday trees: The 6x12 canvas came from Blicks, the cut glass came from Michaels, and Amazon, the shells, I collected off the beach myself over the years , and the nubby starfish came from Amazon.

    Base Paints:
My favorite is Sherwin Williams Color to go
    or
PPG Multi Pro Eggshell #47-3110 (Home Depot)
    Pouring Medium:
Valspar Ultra High gloss Base C - 3 parts (Lowes)
Varathane Ultimate- 1 part (Home Depot)
    or
Valspar Ultra High Gloss Base C - 1 Part/50% (Lowes)
Behr 8300 Deep Base- 1 Part/50% (Home Depot)
    Cell Activator:
    Australian Floetrol - 3 Parts
    Paint- 1 part
Amsterdam , and Triart are my go to paints for cell activator, 5 second trace off the stick
    To thicken paints/pigment - I use 8300
To thin paints/pigments - I use Golden High Flow Medium or 50/50 mix of JoSonja gloss Varnish & water.
If you have to add alot of a thinning agent above... When in doubt throw it out! (a little refference to my Food Service days) because it WILL ruin your painting!
    Recipe for Pours:
    1 part liquitex pouring medium
    1 part paint
    2-3 parts American floetrol
    1teaspoon GAC 800
Base for all my pours(not blooms)
Pro Mar 200 interior latex semi gloss from Sherman Williams
    Mix Pro Mar 7 cups
    3 ounces liquid pouring medium
    3 ounces of Gac 800
3 ounces acrylic medium polymer gloss
    4 cups American floetrol
Up to half cup water as needed for consistency
I purchase Pro Mar in black and white and is very reasonable in price. It makes a large batch and keeps for a very long time. I am still using a batch I made over a year ago just needs a good stir each time I use it.
You can use this mix for any pour base. 🥰
    For Cloud Pours:
Artist Loft Soft Body Paint- 1 Part
Deco art satin enamel- 1 part
    American floetrol- 2 parts
Vallejo Pearl Medium - to thin to 2-3 second trace
-can also thin to Paint Consistancy with Water
For mixing Tube Paint's for cloud pours: (also works for Straight, and Ring Pours)
3 parts US Floetrol to 1 part paint, also add a squirt of Vallejo, pearl medium
For mixing Pigments for cloud pours: (also works for Straight, and Ring Pours)
-Disperse Pigment in Either JoSonja, or Liquitex High Gloss Varnish... mix well
-Add about 1 Teaspoon of Sax Gel Medium till kinda ploppy/should be kinda thick... mix well
-Then add 1-2 Tablespoons of US Floetrol... mix well
    * Special Advice*- Use fresh paint, if it sits too long (like weeks/months) then it will become too thick, sometimes you can thin it back down, but that thinning will sometimes compromise the paint, and ruin your painting. So I dont recommend mixing a huge batch of paint. Plan your color pallets, mix what you need and if you have left over incorporate those left overs in the next piece.
Thanks for watching…Happy Painting everyone! Bye for now!

I love these. You are so creative. Since I’m a California girl at heart, I have a softness for beachy Christmas vibes.

I wish I could say that I came up with them on my own however, I have seen them all over the Internet and someone I met at the fluid boutique had made some which inspired me. I’m super glad you like them.
