I don't know if anyone else sees it, but you give off subtle underlying hints of how much you love your horses without saying a word. Example...you took 3 boys to the vet. One needed more than expected so you basically gave him the time allotted to all three. Without batting an eye you just took the other two home without being seen because they weren't urgent and made another appointment for them. Your character and true colors shine through! It's ridiculous how much I was looking forward to Nigel getting his new digs. There he was, thrown in the recycle bin, and now you're spending time, energy, and money to ensure his comfort. ❤Watching the way you're so observant about every aspect of your animals ' well-being and health just warms my heart. Tiny always acts like she just had 6 cups of espresso.😄 She must have been highly indignant that you filmed her in a private moment. 😆
Tiny yells because she is a calico. If things are not exactly as they should be, you're going to hear about it. You are also going to hear about her day, the state of the mice, how warm the hay is, and if she needs more scratches. Source: my tiny tortie.
Nigel: I am totes uninterested in what you are doing in my paddock. I just happened to be over here really close to it while you were somewhere else. Now you're here I'm going away. Thanks. I really needed a new Clever Cowgirl video today. It's great that Nigel has a magnificent new run-in shed. In addition to your "big, giant human brain" you have a big, giant human heart.

I just think that Tiny loves you, that's all. She's happy to see you and yes, probably wants all the attention you're willing to give her. As for Nigel's tiny house---it reminds me of Eeyore when Pooh and Piglet built him the little snow shelter on his gloomy patch. The House at Pooh Corner.
Thank you for putting those mats down! A lot of people don't know this but animals (including humans,) lose body heat 200% faster to the ground than to the air around them - so by putting those mats down you are doing a lot to protect Nigel's health on viciously cold winter days!❤❤❤
Thank you for showing your work with Nigel's run-8n shed! You are a trooper making things work somehow, just trying different solutions! Can't believe tou took Whiplash, Pete and Ziggy to the vet as well. And Tiny talking was wonderful! Wish I could understand all she says - I love you, ❤️ give me scratches❤ shaky plate time?❤
We have a large run in shed secured with mobile home anchors. They have resisted some nasty winds here in eastern OR. We have one at each corner. Very simple to install and attach to the shed with cable wire. Hope your Nigel shed holds up to your Montana winter!
Talkative cats have learned talking is how to get the hooman's attention. She might want a sleepover in her hay pile. Cats will sit next to what they want. So if she's pestering you, she's hungry or she just wants to cuddle.
Our cat is also extremely talkative. In the morning, after spending the night hunting, it feels like he is telling me exactly what happened during the night when he was out. Cats are also social creatures and sometimes they just want attention.
Exactly. I always laugh when some expert says cats are solitary critters. They love company. On their own terms of course. Otherwise why would there be such large groupings of feral cats, if they were solitary by nature? Big cats, maybe. Not domestic kitties. Apparently, cats also learned to 'talk' with humans. In the wild, very feral cats are pretty silent, especially the females looking after kittens. All of my cats are rescues, two of them were 1. very feral and 2. sort of feral. Those girls hardly ever talk. Clawdia, the semi-feral, now quietly squeaks at me to indicate she wants something. The boys always chat. One of them tells me EVERYTHING that's been going on while I slept. Life is way more exciting around the house than I apparently think. Possums, blue tongue lizards, visiting cats...it's all go go go.
I'm so impressed you put up that shed alone, and in half the time! Really enjoyed the horses antics today. Pete's "Oh, she's back with another halter. I'm just gonna mosey around the other way...". Stewie, of course, had the opposite reaction. "If Little Gus is going, then I'm coming, too". And Nigel just running in circles "I don't know what you're doing in my space, but I don't like it". I needed that smile today, CC. Thanks!
I couldn’t keep up with the video, chat and send a thank you during the premiere. Thank you so much for your channel and bringing me and everyone else along with you! Nigel is the bestest of the “turd” population.
Oh we do what we can for our animals even when they don't seem to want it! I don't keep my house very warm so I have heating pads for my cat. She never used one of them but I knew she was cold in that room. I finally switched to a different heating pad and was so glad when she deigned to sleep on it. I expect Nigel will grudgingly enjoy his new run in too!
I just bought a smart little digital battery charger for my old car. It is designed to stay plugged in all the time when I am not driving the car and it balances out the temperature.
Woo! Hope that was a recent "short" with the Big Bales arriving. I know how important - and how satisfying - it is to finally get a big stack of hay in for the winter!
CC mentioned placing straw bales around the outside to cut the wind coming through the gap, making it cozy for our senior citizen. The bales will also add to the stability once they get soggy - they weigh a ton!
One thing I can definitely tell about Nigel in the short time I've been watching your videos, he is not a fan of change. That seems to be what you represent to him. He loves you in his own way but he really doesn't like new things. He just wants to cover himself in dirt, eat his mash, chill, and get in playful biting matches with his old buddy. I've loved learning the characters of all of your animals and watching it all come together. Nothing more wholesome than a farm. Thank you for sharing.
From what I understand, the more you talk to your cat the more they will talk to you. Also, when her little tail is in the question mark shape, it means she is interested. Tiny is like a little super star in our house. My cats actually pay attention when she is on screen and bossing! Love the content, CC!
My cat is very talkative too. That is why I picked him. He tells me to open the door or window so he can watch the birds. He tells me to play with him. He answers when I call
I've had experience with similar sheds so I strongly suggest you stake it down or you will find it blows away like a parachute with the first strong wind. Trust me the wood base won't be enough weight to hold it down. I used short metal fencing stakes right next to the support poles and secured them with several of the large zip ties. It only takes about 30 min if the ground isn't frozen and it should hold for years.
I live in Utah, keep an eye on that shed when it snows. Those aluminum pipe frames don’t hold a lot of weight. Also, make sure you anchor it down tight so that the wind doesn’t blow it away.
Or build a "roof-over" to keep snow off - they use that a lot in northern Michigan for mobine homes. Of course, by then you'd be pretty close to building a complete shed LOL.
While Nigel might be unimpressed with his new shed, he will appreciate it once he realises it will keep his out of the stall in winter. And the shed is great! I was kind of wondering who designed it without connecting the metal poles by the ground, but you fixed it well.
I looooovved my cat and miss her dearly. I always wished I knew what she was saying so I could respond to her satisfaction. Tiny, you're precious 💖 💗 💓
My cat chats away all of the time, we have conversations for ages. It is only a problem if a cat isn't normally vocal and suddenly they start. Nigel's shed is starting to look like a nativity scene 😄❤
I have a talker too! She’s my medium coated calico. She’s a bit fearful, adopted from the shelter when she was 2 yrs old. I figure she has finally found her voice and has lots to say!
How can anyone say you don’t understand tiny??? She must be the luckiest and happiest cat in the world!!!!! Your videos make me feel so peaceful. You are medicine for all my anxiety. 🤍
Do you think Nigel will be nervous of the flapping plastic of his new little house? It is sweet. I think he would love your idea of straw bales in there to make it cosy. What a determined little pony. Also great to the three chaps in the lorry, going for a spree to the vet's. They probably loved the outing, with snacks into the bargain.
Nigel's "shed" looks like a great idea, especially with the heavy-ish timber you added. But if stormy weather is more common in winter, I would honestly think about staking it to the ground somehow. Maybe add a "wood screw" eye bolt to each corner and hammer a heavy duty ground stake in each one. Or even move it to a corner and attach it to the fence somehow as well. Up to you of course.
I think Tiny is just a talker. I l have one too. There's nothing wrong with her. Nigel's new little set up will be cozy once you get the strawbales up. He's a stinker so it'll probably take him a little while. Great job securing it. Great job on taking care of all of your fur babies! ❤❤❤
calico cats are known to be talkative. They may communicate their needs and presence through meows, hisses, or purrs. Cats are generally more vocal when they are happy, and the pitch of their meow can indicate their feelings.Calico cats are known for their unique personalities, which can include being affectionate, independent, and sassy. I know all this because I have a girl also. Which calico's are 99% female. My girl Gypsy acts exactly diva like miss Tiny! Thats why I adore Tiny! 😊
I've been watching your MT weather and hoping all goes well. Y'all's big bad storms look to be saving us in & around New Orleans from an unusual November hurricane!
Yes to the strawbales around the back/sides of the shed. I fear for Nigel's safety with that shed in the pen when the wind picks it up and flings it across the pen again, eventhough it's stabilized a bit by the timber.
I built a greenhouse, about 7x20, 2x4 wood frame with a small window & door, all wrapped with special greenhouse film/plastic. First big Colorado wind picked it up and tossed it across the yard! What a mess...
Like the idea of square bales around the outside for insulation and stability, CC. I suppose the snow will eventually help hold it in place, too. We don't have snow, but do have very strong winds. A small hothouse similar to Nigel's shed jumped the fence into the neighbour's place despite being put in a sheltered (by our standards) part of the garden. After it was retrieved it was bolted to the wooden fence. The frame then stayed in place, but the cover needed to be zipped, or the wind wanted to tear it apart. The bales should help with that, and the wooden base is a great idea. Will keep my fingers crossed for you...and contrary old Nigel.
That Tiny is a real character, isn't she? I never cared for cats much, but I could hang with her. And Nigel, I remember a goofy song around 1980, I think it was called "Making Plans for Nigel". I think of it every time I see him.
I'm a Little worried that the fabric type cover with that flimsy frame will blow over in a strong gale especially with driving snow or ice. I have a suggestion for a rigged up shelter you might do yourself. You can get three corral panels and set them up in a u shape. Then purchase a tarp that is the right height and length to wrap around the entire length of the sides or one tarp per panel. Tarps Plus has a clearance going on right now for some heavy duty vinyl tarps. They are good quality tarps and there are a number of grommets in each tarp making it more secure when you tie it down. To make sure that there is an overhead cover that will stand up to snow and rain, you could get another one or two corral panels and tie them securely across the top, tied down to the upright panels. Then you would throw a tarp that is a right dimension over that. You can buy stainless steel zip ties on Amazon and at other websites. If you don't find ones that are long enough, You may need to do a little searching or use bailing twine or something very secure to attach the tarps to the panels. And of course if three panels forming the u shape are not stout enough by themselves you could either drive T post in the ground to secure the panels to or take a fourth panel and create half a wall with the fourth panel. You would either be looking for a shorter length or it'll have to stick out to one side. To keep a tight seal against a ground you would need to zip tie the bottom or tie down the bottom to any type of rail that you may have or even rebar. I know corral panels are expensive but at least they are portable and reusable for other purposes. So are the tarps.
Per the Lion conservationist guy - some lions are vocal and some are not. Bravo for your brain doing that shed! Your back work too! Nigel is lucky and wow - dental visits! Whiplash and Gus, Ziggy.
Hello CC - you never cease to amaze me every time - what you get up to (working) and how so independent you are too. I am sure Nigel will be happy with his little abode you are putting together for him.
Hilarious that your horse decides to load himself. The days are shorter; I guess Winter is here. I remind myself that it's only a couple of months before the days get progressively longer again. Have a lovely weekend.
A little concerned about Nigle's shed. Given the winds we get here in Montana especially as the storm fronts come through. You might end up with a DFO (dangerous flying objects) or two. Needs to be held down better - suggest drilling holes through the 4x4s and pin them down with a 3' rebar with a hook on one end. Drive them in before the ground freezes. Didn't see how the frame is attached to the 4x4s. Suggest using "C" brackets at least 2 per corner. Hay around the outside is a good idea.
I had one of those I used to store hay when I had goats. It was still in really good shape when we moved about 3 or 4 years after I got it, so it should definitely last through the winter and even the next one unless Nigel decides to mistreat it. But I'm sure the wooden fence is way nicer to rub on so hopefully he won't!
Oh 😂... who's been picking on you on here with Tiny. I have one male cat and tiny reminds me immensely of him he's allowed outside and I have one girl, who is not allowed outside they are like polar opposites of each other. He's a mixed breed and she's a Russian blue but silent as anything but my boy talks all day long the minute I get home multiple times a day he thinks he needs to be fed and or that I need to sit down and he has to come up nearby but not on my lap "just near me" 😂😂. I had know exactly every time I hear Tiny that's Tiny's disgruntled where the hell have you been.... I'm so excited to see you and you've been gone for ages even if it's been 20 minutes😂...... that's all it is 😂. Tell you what I'd love to see one day is your drag a little bit of twine behind you as you're walking to and from the horse's tiny would love it... Because mine did. I sent my daughter up and down the hallway with sisal/jute string and made her run so the cats could burn off some energy 😂.... ❤
I didn't understand when I first adopted a 15 yo can why she was talking so much. Now I realize she just talks. Her meows often don't sound sweet and friendly but that's just my interpretation. I like it when she asks for food or says hi when I join her on the couch.
My run-in shed is actually a modified 20X12 Garage-In-A-Box. After we assembled the frame we screwed sheets of particle board to it. Then we covered it with heavy sheets of plastic and put the canvas on the top. We screwed on 1”X2”X 8’ boards to keep the wind from getting under the canvas. We didn’t attach the front door b/c that faced the South. In addition to the anchors that came with the kit, we bought huge tent spikes from Walmart and drove them through the flanges on the bottoms of the metal frame and into the ground. I’ve had this shed for 8ys. Two years in we had the bomb cyclone here in Colorado; that took down many trees, but not my shed! The original tarp did eventually have to be replaced, but the company sells just the tarps. The shed does make a lot of flappy noises, so it took the two horses a couple of months to get used to that, but now they aren’t at all bothered by the noise. I keep the shed well bedded and they lay down and sleep in it all the time.
"Because I do have a big gigantic brain, I'm going to figure this out for myself." You GO girl.

My kitties, too, all four of them xD I get yelled at, begged, coerced, and cooed at all hours of the day every single day.
Straw bales around the outside is a perfect idea. They are highly insulative.
I'm always impressed by your huge array of highly impressive skills CC - I don't think there's anything you can't do! 😊🐴
I kept thinking, BIG TENT STAKES needed!!
I love Tiny
My cat chats away all of the time, we have conversations for ages. It is only a problem if a cat isn't normally vocal and suddenly they start. Nigel's shed is starting to look like a nativity scene 😄❤
❤
I have a talker too! She’s my medium coated calico. She’s a bit fearful, adopted from the shelter when she was 2 yrs old. I figure she has finally found her voice and has lots to say!
I love all your animals' personalities, but Tiny and Nigel together are so endearing! That cat LOVES that pony!
I second all this about the Nigel Shelter.
Tiny is just telling you what to do! She keeps everything in order❤
I love your channel and your love and knowledge of your Horses ❤
yes on the hay bails, warm cozy and wind resistant
Love the way you always go the extra mile for your horses....Those snow capped Montana mountains look magnificent ...🐎
I love your channel ❤️. The horses, Tiny and Huckleberry, are amazing.
I'm hocked on the CC show. It brightens my day 😊
Yes to the strawbales around the back/sides of the shed. I fear for Nigel's safety with that shed in the pen when the wind picks it up and flings it across the pen again, eventhough it's stabilized a bit by the timber.
That is a perfect little shed for Nigel. Looking forward to seeing the update on the vet visit. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Yayyy CC! Nigel hit the lottery with you.🤍
I built a greenhouse, about 7x20, 2x4 wood frame with a small window & door, all wrapped with special greenhouse film/plastic. First big Colorado wind picked it up and tossed it across the yard! What a mess...
Oh dear
I had the wind pick up the one in my qt area, with 3 steel panels still attached to it!
@@TheCleverCowgirl Dang! I did find out one should orient the open end(s) to face east/west, so blowing wind can slide over top. 🤷♀️
Ouch! 😬

In the UK these hay nets are called trickle nets, you can compare them to slow bowls for dogs that eat too fast. They are pretty good!
Hahaha! CC put that song in one of her Nigel shorts a few months ago.
Me too, I'm mid 50's so absolutely remember the making plans for Nigel song.
The fast-forward motion in the intro together with "I have been super busy..." is so hilarious! 😂👌❤
Miss ma'am!!! Time for MERCH!!!
One of each horse, one of Tiny and Huckleberry!!!
Tiny wants the Shakey Plate !!!
Women with power tools! Always love seeing that😀
Get a Rubbermaid shed. They come in various sizes. Very sturdy, and waterproof.
Oh 😂... who's been picking on you on here with Tiny.
I hope Nigel will appreciate his new shelter.
Tiny is a Catty Kitty. A perfect companion.
Love his little hobbit hut. ❤❤❤ So kind of you to get him a shelter! Brace it with the corner fenceposts and hay bales! Use what you have!❤❤❤❤
Nigel cracks me up!
