    ====================================================
    The 700-acre Prommitr Film Studio in Kanchanaburi was created to serve as a filming location of Thailand’s greatest historic trilogy movie The Legend of King Naresuan, that portrays the history of King Naresuan the Great who freed Siam (former Thailand) from the ancient Burmese (Hongsavadi) kingdom during the Ayutthaya Era in circa 1584. The set then comprises of abundant replicas of gilded chedis, temples, ordination halls and traditional villages of anciant Siam and Burmese people. Architectures and buildings you have only read from legends have become true here; with highlights include the Sanphet Prasat throne hall, of which its real build was burned down during the war as well as the Lion Throne of the ancient king.
    Visitors can actually spend the whole day wandering around the set featuring stunning buildings, learn the history of the ancient kingdoms through exhibitions and lectures, and try putting on ancient-style clothing and have a photograph opportunity,
    Opening hours: Daily 10.00 am - 5.00 pm
    Admission: 200 baht

    I've lived here since 2011, in a small village. What I am presenting for your viewing is Life, away from the cities, the tourist traps, the bars and easy girls (or ladyboys even), the influences from western culture, like skyscrapers, Macdonalds, and KFC. I bring you the sights and sounds that farangs (which is what Thais call any foreigner) never experience.
    After all the time I have lived here, I call them farangs, too. Because my wife and I have become a part of this village, where everybody knows us, and we know everybody.
    This is the Real Thailand.

    Colin, I was hoping to see you ride a war elephant triumphantly back into your village. You could train the animal to take you up all those wat stairs. An expat told me about those Thai film epics that he was dragged off to see by his Thai partner. Told me they were always fighting the evil Burmese. Set pieces on film at the beginning you showed looked impressive.

    A fascinating video once again Colin. Your presentations are certainly becoming more and more professional and along with your intelligent and pleasant voiced informative narrations could easily be marketed I'm guessing to the Travel Pay TV Channels I'm sure. Marvelous footage gave us the viewers a real feast for the eyes. I hope after all the time/production costs they spent on the production of this mammoth movie effort caused it to become a runaway success at the box office or TV and reaped a mega-sized profit, as by the fleeting movie grabs that you offered up it looked like a real bobby dazzler of an action epic movie! It wet my appetite to see this movie trilogy myself! Are you also now using a drone for various shots these days? Yes/No?! I've got a Phantom drone myself and I've been filming quite a bit of aerial footage with it at various locations in and around Australia and also in Bali and to some degree in Indonesia as well thus far. (Some of this material will be reposted again/and newly posted also shortly on my RUclips & Facebook page). As time affords me, I plan to wade through some of this vast backlog of your fabulous postings that I have been missing out on. Looks like a mile of real beauty's await me .. as Arnald Schwarzengger said, "I'll be back!" ~ Cheers!

      @allaroundthailand360  7 лет назад +1

      Yes I have just got my Drone ans will be using as and when. the project had an estimated budget of 700 million baht. they must have made a bit of money from it. as the last film was free to see at the Cinema

    • @raybartle3362
      @raybartle3362 7 лет назад

      Hmm .. now that's a new innovation: A free movie viewing at the Cinema. I don't recall that ever happening in any Western movie theatre?! ~ You'll have fun with the drone, I've managed lots of marvellous footage, which could never have been achieved even from our own Raven R44 2 helicopter. Drones have virtually become where the Big Games at now when it comes to impressive aerial video grabs.

    I love the Naresuan films, unfortunately only the first two had English subtitles... 🤔
