As a Filipino, I am so proud of her.
May I add...Lea Salonga won Laurence Olivier best actress award for the role of Kim in Miss Saigon originally played at the London west end.
Actually during that performance, was tributed to the disney anniversary and all the singers of disney perform that same stage along with leah.
In this event, Lea was inducted as a Disney Legend along with three other Disney princesses.

Lea is a broadway legend...having performed kim in Ms. Saigon winning the best actress in the olivier award in london and when Ms Saigon came to the US for stage performance, she won also the best actress for the tony award...she also performed in les miserables as epinone in its 10th anniversary concert (you should react on this) and as fantine in its 25th anniversary.

The original animated film Mulan came out in 1998 (Lea was 27). This performance was from when Lea was honored as a Disney Legend in 2011 (age 40). It's like no time has passed.
Lea is the original Disney Mulan & Princess Jasmine of A Whole New World. That is why she sound like the animation theme song.

2:35 Thrust me, her voice doesn't change that much. Someone made a video when she sang a whole new world more than 10 years ago and compare it with 2-3 years ago.
There's a video of Lea singing while she's surrounded by a group of friends. I think that's on a restaurant? And her friend was playing the piano. She sang a bit of this song and when she came into the chorus, some of the other people inside stopped on whatever they were doing to check out who was singing. Obviously, they recognised the song and Lea's voice. Lea was there singing, leaning casually on the piano on her casual clothes and just enjoying herself. Haha. It's like the world suddenly stopped from turning and everyone focused on Lea.
It was actually in a bar owned by her friend Glee star Darren Criss and invited also some of the big names in musical theater and the one who posted the video is Keala Settle, one of the star of the movie "The greatest showman"
