    Best stuck motor concoction I know is 50/50 acetone (Fingernail polish remover) & ATF or Marvel Mystery Oil. Cheap ATF works best. I've used it on exhaust manifold bolts & it works. Keep bolts wet for 3 or 4 days then work them out. No such thing as too much. Only mix what you're gonna use that day because the acetone will evaporate out.

    Acetone and transmission fluid in the cylinder, left it in for 4 days and it loosened the piston/motor..
    use 2 4" inch bolts thru the harmonic balancer (out of the 3 that secures the pulley),put a bar or large pipe and turn back and forth to work it loose...(do NOT use the harmonic balancer center bolt, you will strip it out or snap it.)

    I don't know if this helps anyone or not, but it sure helped me and was fairly simple. I was able to get my engine "unstuck" quite easily, and in a very reasonable time span (it was pretty much instantaneous) and with hardly any cost...about 3 dollars and fifty cents. Anyways, I simply applied just over 15,000 ft lbs of pressure using a 660 grain 50 caliber bullet directly into engine block. I pretty much free'd everything up. And I gotta tell you, I slept pretty damn good that night. If anyone needs any work done on their vehicle, just let me know. Thanks, and have nice day.

    I just started a ford f250 that had sat for twenty two years. I used Marvel Mystery Oil and a mineral spirits in the spark plug holes and also removed the valve covers and shot the mix on top of the lifters and rockers. The mixture was about 50/50 and I put about two ounces in each cylinder. Sat a week, then turned it over with socket and breaker bar. Don't use the starter to turn it as there will be the chance of sticking valves and bending pushrods. You may want to pull the intake and spray the inside of the valves with wd40 especially if you live in a wet climate. That will also give you a chance to see condition of inside motor. Anyways ford engine ran great after wires, plugs, coil, cap, rotor, rebuilt carb, new fuel pump etc...in most cases your valve seals will be bad and need replace if vehicle is old and sat awhile.

    They nicknamed the Roto-Hydramatic transmission the "Slim Jim"
    and when they worked they were fine. They were very sensitive to
    fluid level, more than the Dual Coupling or Turbo Hydramatic so
    they would fail easier but the '60 and '62 Olds I had ran great
    with them. Part of history so don't be too quick to junk it.

    My auto mechanic teacher says that transmission fluid can be used to clean gunk from the engine like valve covers and intake valley. He says it has detergent in it. He says water in the carb. can clean the pistons and combustion chamber. Transmission fluid in the carb. can be used to find exhaust leaks. An engine can sit for years and STILL start!

    I am currently going to try and revive a 65 ford custom with 289 that has sat since 1978. Does not turn so I pulled intake and heads. Two cylinders had minor rust so freed them up with wd40, socket and breaker bar. Valve seals shot so bad that they dried up and broke so I replaced them, heads look great otherwise. Caked sludge in valley pan and had to scoop it out with tools. Then wiped out rest with mineral spirits and rags. Will change out all lifters because of this and also now will drop oil pan to clean. All a pain in the butt but should work and save a little money. At bare minimum go the extra distance with time and patience. Many guys go to quickly and bend pushrods. Don't use the starter to turn engine.

    I heard about it from the millworkers union people at an electric power plant rebuilding job. I took from from the job and put it on some rusty looking bolts I had around the battery or my car. A few days later, heard a noise, looked and the bolts had shaken loose. Buy a gallon for about $35 or $40 and cover everything you can.

    I do remember having to deal with a suzuki samurai engine that was locked tight, no starter pops with a strong battery or weeks of lubing down the cylinders worked, when i tried a breaker bar there was no go, until i tried using a remote button to activate the starter while i was pulling as hard as i could on the breaker bar. It acted sort of like a impact gun did and popped the engine loose enough to roll it back and forth to get it spinning again.

    • @hyzercreek
      @hyzercreek 4 года назад

      ATF and acetone don't mix. This is the potion that everybody uses but it's dumb, acetone floats on ATF and then evaporates in about 20 minutes. Then all you have is ATF. But if you mix acetone with brake fluid, they do mix. Acetone by itself would do the job if it didn't dry up so fast. But acetone and ATF mix is the dumbest hoax in all of automotive world. You need to know, is the engine stuck by carbon or rust. Acetone softens carbon but does nothing to rust. ATF does nothing to anything, it's just a lubricant. If it's rust you need to take the engine apart. If it's carbon, use acetone/toluene mix like you find in carb cleaner. Or just use carb cleaner.

They backed off the rockers, filled the cylinder with trans oil to fill most of the space, then hooked up the grease gun with some weird fitting they made. They also had a pressure gauge rigged to it. Pumped the grease gun but did exceed the pressure the motor would normally make from compression. After a few cylinders, they found were it was stuck, and it started to turn. Didn't find out if they got it running, but heck, getting it to turn again is usually the hard part.
