For the red zealot, at the clock tower before activate the lift, climb up the ladders then pull the level for the giant spike balls coming down, immediately jump down to the lift and activate going up. The first red zealot will appear and will be squashed by the giant spike balls, giving players some peace in mind. Hope that helps! this tactic coming from youtube RE speedrunners Ifreemz

i didnt know there were 2 red zealots in the clock tower until i saw this. But yeah, just got the idea of doing this on my first run (cause i've played the OG RE4), the screaming sound of zealots right after the lift activation makes me think it was a good decision 😆

Not really. More so that the engine and video game flaws get abused to make him appear to be such, since video games are very forgiving to casual players, allowing this level of abuse to happen.
I wish RE games were more along the lines of interactive movies with different story endings etc, making speedrun in conventional sense impossible and making character have cannon-levels of power.
Essentially the game is 98% cutscene driven.

I think bill Gates once said "if you want to find the fastest way to solve a problem give it to a lazy person" or a speedrunner it seems
It gets even crazier with 7 hit Del Lago as if you meet a certain criteria, which relates to the amount of damage you've done up to that point, you can literally take him down in 7 hits 🤯
RE difficulty adaption system. Example: low health, less kill counts, less healing items or ammos actually managed to kill the hardcore Salazar with only handguns. Hard to explain, but it is true.
Which is crazy because if you’re missing or upset your flow you have to hit him like 30 times.
@@JustSendMeLocationPlease Try your best to harpoon Del Lago at least 3 times when it open it's jaws, I was told this does more damage. Everytime Del Lago dives into the lake, this fella recovers health.

Not sure when this was recorded. Phase 1 of Krauser fight now involves allowing the cutscene to play until a certain point and then skipping it. This spawns Krauser in a different place allowing you to run straight to the wheel to unlock the door.
It could be classed as a glitch so I just decided not to use it

To be honest, the Resident Evil series encourages speedrunning. It cultivates it. Because usually in order to get the coolest stuff you got to beat the game as quick and efficiently as possible without taking too much damage. Like, with a Gameshark on RE2 N64, you can easily beat that game in under an hour. The RE games actually aren't that long. It's set to the pace of the player.
After I got my S+ Professional under my belt, I never bothered worrying about time again. More fun to kill everything and do all the side quests rather than just running by most of the enemies.

For the Armadura, I think it is better to kick off all of their helmets and just throw a single flash grenade. It kills all the armors in the area and saves you Rifle ammo too.
It's a fixed encounter, they only come 2 at a time and 3 in the end, they don't all come in one go.
I was gonna say, the flash grenade would take care of all of them. Seen people do it, but I don't know if it's "the fastest" way to defeat them.
Since its a speedrun strat, you most likely want to save your flashbangs as much as you can, because these bosses has certain pattern than can be mastered if you practices them enough
The flashbang, I believe is a really valuable item that would save speedrunners from regular mobs and overall skipping an entire encounter, which is the most thing a speedrunner has to consider because those took most of their min/max times

I saw a speedrun guy just for chainsaw sisters just shooting crossbow mines at the bulb. 5 mines. They explode right after cutscene finishes, and if any one of the survives, they are easy to finish off.

@@I_have_the_suds I love RE8 so much that I’ve completed all the challenges and got all the achievements, but I haven’t gotten through all the hard stages in mercenaries mode and it has taken me MONTHS.

Cant knock someone for their opinion, I played RE 5 back in highschool when it came out and I remember enjoying every minute of it.
That's exactly the strategy I used to beat Del Lago on my first playthrough ever. I thought I just have finished the first phase but no, that was it. That boss died so fast.
For the red zealot in Ch7, I crouch my way up to the stairs to the right and shotgun the enemy at the top of the stairs. Then I throw a flash, run up to the red zealot and shotgun him a few times. Get the lantern, jump over the banister and run out of there!

For the Bella Sisters, you can also attach a bunch of Mine Bolts to the lightbulb above the crank handle, trigger the cutscene and BOOM! No more chainsaws xD

The clip at 8:00 seemed to be going a lot longer than I thought. The knight's exposed infected heads can all be eliminated instantly with a flash grenade.
Except 9 times out of 10 you get your head sliced off by the other Bella sister by standing right Infront of her 😂
The best question for you to do this, is how hard to grind for pesetas for weapon upgrade and crafting magnum rounds
idk if this is still the same because i haven’t played in about a year nd a half (whenever it was released) but i remember being able to get the infinite magnum if you A ranked any mercenary’s level ik you made this comment 8 months ago so you probably don’t play no more but i’m bouta get back into them i just recently finished 2 and 3 remakes completing them all the way thru these games just have a way of stimulating my adhd brain lol

What used for the armored knights was the the service carbine weapon that is the other weapon that uses rifle bullets. One shot to the weak spot and one shot to the main thing 👍

God the back stab with the knife is _easily_ one of the most satisfying things in the game to do, it's quick, it's efficient, it saves _ammo_ and for some bizzare reason it gives you i frames.
I didnt know the TMP does that to Mendez. Is the TMP upgraded at all? I assume its just default because its the only gun you didn't mention any upgrades for for boss kills.
TMP if pro or hardcore, damage must be at least 3rd level
for the double garrador you can shoot the armorless one in the body and both of them will come out instantly

The music at El Gigante part of the video is hitting my memory really hard it tells I know it well but where
If we're using any weapons, pretty much any enemy will die if you shoot a few explosive arrows where they're about to spawn, this includes most bosses.
Thank you for this vid, I was stuck on the two Garradors for ages. Didn’t have as many heavy grenades as the speed runner but it made it so much easier.

Question, how speedrunner know where to find whatever they need to find (granades,ammo, etc) if most of the loot is random? They just pick the non random stuff or they spend a litle tine breaking barrels and stuff??
You can get recipes for Heavy Grenades and Flash Grenades so you can make them whenever you want. Most of the speedrun is avoiding enemies, so you shouldn't be using up as much. The rest is just resource management. Also, the game is more likely to give you resources when you don't have any.
If you watch a glitchless speedrun, I'm pretty sure the entire community has resource management down to a science. There will always be a bit of RNG, though.
on the double el gigante fight, you can shoot a rocket launcher at the naked one as soon as the cutscene is over and it kills both of them.

Whice knife are you using for the Krauser knife fight?
My issue is that whenever leon ADS' with the rifle and scope the scope sways all over the place
In that one sequence with the knights when you get the lion head, they can actually be killed instantly with a flash grenade if I’m correct
They'll get instantly killed with a flash grenade after they have their whole parasite head shown (their heads not covered in iron)
For the seven knight you can also expose their second form then use a flash to kill two at a time

At the twin Garrador segment you wrote "Verdugo"
For the "Armadora" fight (head monsters inside armor suits), why didn't they use a flashbang after exposing all three head monsters? It would have killed all three instantly, and been significantly faster than what was shown.
Not ran the game for a while bit this was the strat used at the time. Using a flashbang takes a lot of resources and its not even that much faster than shooting them all individually
I had to use a rocket on double garrador and had to use the golden egg for help in the elevator section and I can’t get past Salazar now in my professional save

As a hardcore RE fan, this game is significantly easier than the others. Every death that happened to me was usually me being overconfident. I just take my time in combat. Thanks to the new movement physics, I have quickly mastered the controls. Anyone else?
Big agree, still a challenging game, but fun challenge. Even my pro S+ run didn’t feel unfair, just hard.

@selfharmageddon True. There's more of a balance on the harder modes as they diable auto save. Makes you play it like the original. I'm on my 3rd pro run now. Only beat the game once on hardcore.

Sadler final boss battle, first form. Frikken hands went into a twisted claw trying to fight him without the rocket launcher after an hour of constantly dying. Only used the Handcannon with unlimited ammo, more herbs combos than a 200 acre farm and still couldn't do it! 😭

For the first zealot I use the stingray and I just spam fire from a distance till it dies works pretty quick

On my first run I killed the garrador just by firing mines on the foor in which he kept approaching and getting killed after 4-5 mines.

The bolt-action rifle with exclusive ticket upgrade makes short work of everything, 30 damage on weak spots on a pretty common ammo type is busted. I killed Salazar in like 2 mins without the egg strat with it.
