This version of the game is really interesting! It's the one I first played as a kid. I didn't know this was a VGA enhanced version with nicer backgrounds and visuals compared to the original 1984 version which looks quite old in comparison. Of course the 2001 remake looks now like the classic 90s style KQ's. But this was the version I knew and I thought visually it was amazing! (playing it in the 90s).
@@LetsPlayWithBrigands Other games that remind me a little bit of this visual style (although not quite as good) would be the Hugo series, 1 through 3. They had that early VGA look. Although actually looking back at them now on youtube, pretty sure it was CGA graphics lol. Except the 3rd game, that one has much nicer visuals and it approaches this KQ1's quality. I'd love to know more games from this era which has similar looks visually to this version of KQ1. If anyone knows.
No I think this would've been 1990, the VGA remake from Sierra. I know other companies have made unofficial remakes since then, but this is the 1990 version.
Not to mention that also that very sorcerer is also a pest whenever you’re to come across him as well where in the very heart of the dark forest and when you’re suddenly frozen by him 🤭☹️😒😳And that also gives other enemies a chance to defeat you as well such as that one Ogre ☹️🤭
Can you make a game like this with dinosaurs Dino quest like kings quest this time the kings quest characters are replaced by dinosaurs and Daventry is paleotopia
So how come the Children Sitting Outside as Gingerbread Cookies in the Witches Candy Garden don’t all come back to life while after having pushed her straight directly into her Hot and Sizzling while Boiling Cauldron and that you would think that all of those children could instant simultaneously come turning back into their normal human forms ASAP as soon as you step straight back outside which is something that I’ve wondered about and also how come you aren’t warned by them with sad tiny child like whispers in their voices telling you beware the Wicked Witch lives here and about the Dangers of their Fates and yours as well and including the Warning Danger signs about entering her Candy House ? 🤔🤔🤔🤔?
You know there’s one thing Personal that always constantly surprises me about the Wicked Witch In this Iconic Game is that when she puts you outside on display as that Graham Cracker In her Candy Garner is that none of those other Enemies after you such as that Little Dwarf, Ogre, And Even That One Sorcerer don’t Ever So Much pass Straight by you While roaming around the Dark Forest And Even Stop to Recognize you ???? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ????
Sad that I never had the chance to experience (firsthand, anyway) these Sierra games you have played through so many of. I am vaguely aware of the Leisure Suit Larry series, but I think I'd have enjoyed these more. Sierra is apparently making a new King's Quest game here in 2015, if that interests you and somehow got by you.
Brandon R That did somehow get by me and it definitely interests me. Without easily looking it up right now I'm wondering if it will be all 3-d and pretty or more old school kind of animation and pretty in that way. Just the thought of Sierra making a game like KQ again gets me excited because I'm constantly going on about how that genre of games is in dire need of a reboot/revisiting.
I’ve always wondered one very important question and that’s what if you could ever tried wearing the Invisible Ring given to you by that little Elf while when you’re approaching the Wicked Old Witch from behind in her Candy Cottage in Order to push her straight into her Bowling Cauldron would that be possible never to detect you when Invisible ? 🤔🤔🤔🤫 Could that ever be a considerable possibly to make attempts on ?🤔🤔🤔🤔?
And that I’d also like to say that I’ve also had that Wicked Old Witch get onto my Nerves to where everytime that I’m hidden in the back bedroom inside of her house and listening to her obsess and and fantasize about whose going to be dinner tonight ! 🤨🤔😳😒
I just tried it on 16 which was super slow so unfortunately 1 is as fast as this version will play. I remember it was faster when I was a kid but with this setup that's the fastest it will play. Hopefully KQ2 will be quicker, I'm going to do that one in the next couple of months.
Nice bit of nostalgia really miss these games 👌💙🙂
I'm with you Adam!
I love how the music changes when you come out of the leprechaun rock with all the treasures. The sense of accomplishment is overwhelming.
peasant quest when
There's still a lot of fan made homage type games like that I need to get to. Added to the list, tho, good look.
Thanks for the play-through: I was always curious about how to finish it.

Yeah I loved this version. Hit a sweet spot in terms of classic gaming graphics.

So what is the slingshot and pebbles for?
I think it's for killing the giant, though I opted to go the invisible route to leave him unharmed and get more points.
Catching up with lore here to better understand Kings Quest reimagined.
Good call, yeah they do their own thing with the dragon obviously.
1:36 - what is the funny name? was there a funny name in KQ1?
Ah just goes back to my habit of coming up with more creative names for the characters, but Graham is just Graham to me.
Thank you
Welcome!
The subtitle didnt exist at first. Not sure if this game is the first use of it
10 years ago. love how crappy it looks and sounds mmm the nostalgia
Ha the salad days of LPWB.
Is this version really from 2001? Or 1997 maybe?

144/158 what could you have done different?
That's what I was wondering!
You forgot to get the pouch of jewels from the hollow stumps
You can also crack open the walnut and discover there's gold inside.

i tried wearing the ring but it doesn't work it says
And that Little Dwarf does get onto my nerves every single time I would play this game 😡🤨
He's a sneaker that's for sure.
the lord of ring

As a kid it was pretty terrifying hiding out back there... waiting.
you put speed at 1, slowest instead of 16, fastest
