i main as light bowgun, but i use ariel style, and pair it with "full house" so that i can continuously leap off of the monster and strike from above without having to stop to reload. it is actually a very reliable strategy because you are just about impossible to hit when using the ariel jump. it works especially well with pellet rounds since they have a large AOE so even if the monster jumps to the side, it still have a chance to hit.
losing the hop for striker style is no loss for me, I always find the backhop annoying as it more often than not sends me into a monsters attack since I'm used to rolling forward when I press B. exchanging that for a hunter art is A-Okay with me.
i personalty LOVE the light bowgun. it is great if you are on a team of 3 or 4 if you are able to stay a bit back from the action. you can rain down fire on the enemy from a high vantage point, heal and buff your allies if needed, and if you have ariel style equipped, you can jump off of the monster, use the x+a attack, then chain it together with a properly aimed jump shot, land, and reload to get behind the monster quickly while also doing some damage. my fav art with the bowgun is actually "full house" (the complete reload) because you can use ariel style to jump all over the monster while raining shots down from above without waiting to reload. overall it is a very versatile weapon with many different ways to fight.
hey bro, different bullet types video coming soon? I need help figuring out how much damage the ammos do, including the new ones like Stone S and heavy S
Is this game hard to pick up if you have never played a monster hunter game before? Thinking about getting a 3DS and this game when it comes out in the U.S.
+Nicholas Barth Monster Hunter does have a bit of a steep learning curve, but if you can sink around 10 hours into it, it'll either click, and you'll love it, or it won't and you'll hate it, haha. Definitely recommend it though!
There will be a lot of grinding, especially at the start when the monsters are WAAYYY easier and pretty boring, but once you get through that ordeal, you're good to go and the grinding feels really, really fun because the monsters are genuinely difficult and you need to learn how to fight and kill them. It's kind of like Dark Souls, but harder because instead of one broken mechanic with a specific exploitable weakness instantly killing you, it's an entire monster with incredibly powerful, but fair attacks that you need to master and the feeling of success is genuinely incredible because you worked so hard to get it.
The beginning of the game is extremely slow and boring with gathering quests. This only last for about 2 hours, but after that the true meat of the game shines through and you embark on epic hunts against colossal monsters in fun and rewarding gameplay and using peices of their dead corpses to create weapons, armor, and decor.
i got and sold Monster hunter 4 ultimate,I bought this game and have kept it. the main reason for this? FRIENDS! AND ONLINE! Play with people the game is so much more fun with people. And when online don't be shy to ask for help! I have using in game keyboard and everyone was super nice and anyone who didn't want to help just left and it was not a big deal! :D
A good thing to note that I didn't realize (and assumed it would be otherwise) is that while quick aiming (by holding R) you can move around and it will automatically turn to shoot where the crosshair is, making it extremely easy to aim, compared to the bow
You neglected to mention that you can set the direction you face after a Bushido dodge by pushing the stick in that direction while the dodge is executing, and that you can cut the tail-end of the reload animation short by firing a shot. Super important pieces of information that make Bushido shine.
Adept is great because you can just lay some fire on them then use the Adept evade to reload and power up another full magazine. Aerial I can only see being decent with the Seregios lbg because you'll always have a shot thanks to it reloading a shot each evade, but you lose the reload dance which hurts the Seregios lbg. And since Striker only loses the sidesteps, it's viable for every lbg except the Seregios lbg.
Mike Ftzlgard Like I said, but it's still less dps than doing the reloading dance, though it will make it easier for each shot to hit the mark. I can only see Aerial LBG as viable when solo, otherwise Adept and Guild are much stronger.
Thanks for this video tutorial Arekkz it was really happy to find out exactly how to do that rapid over body shot on those monsters now I know exactly why it wasn't working for me I just need to use my rapid fire ammo! btw does it still work if you use your guns built in rapid fire ammo? if no then dats ok then.
I might stick with Guild on this one. Maybe Adept, but I really like both Bullet Geyser and Full Load. It may not be the stand-out hunting art but a super back-hop seems really handy for getting out of a bad spot, plus the explosive on top of that.
I'm a jack of all trade hunter trying to build a reload speed recoil down but everyone keeps telling my don't need them.... should I give on these skills or is there a build that works very good with all light bowgun s?
You forgot one important thing about Bushido LBG. After a Power Reload, you can press A to shoot. Like with every weapon, you have to aim just after the dodge in order for the attack to actually connect.
I feel like expanding my skillsets in MHG, so I'm planning on maining a LBG, at least for the village quests. As a SnS/GS main it's going to be a big change, and I'm excited.
I just wanna say thank you. I want to main LBG in this generation for make the sensation of start the game different from MH3 and MH3Ultimate (SnS) and MH4 (lance) and the video give me the info I need. And yes I play Bushido in the Demo and I love it. Thanks for the super run advice, I din't knew it
can someone please tell me a good all-round LBG and HBG each for hunting monsters in MHXX? (i usually use bowguns for big monsters or elder dragon) i'm low on materials so just one each please (or some suggestions with explanations so i can pick) thanks im advance
I got a couple of questions about the HA rapid fire. So I'm assuming it does less damage per shot but makes up for it in numbers. What does it shoot? "It lets you rapid fire your rapid shots" does that mean if my lbg fires Fire S it also rapid shots Fire S??
Andrew D. Rapid Fire switches out your ammo for special, unique ammo called "Rapid Shots" that only last for the HA duration. After that, it switches back to your previously selected shots. I'm not sure about the damage numbers but it has wrecked quite a few body parts when landing all the hits.
+Alan Tran i'd assume not because you load the shots even if you have them equipped, similarly to how hbg siege fires. But i'm not 100% certain on that
+Arekkz Gaming sounds like a plan :P How do you think the gear score will work cause I got all high end weapons, 4 HE gear prices but 2 are superior so do you think that would be enough for hard incursion or not ?
I have a question, ive heard pierce was nerfed for gen and that pierce 1 is more used cause pierce 2 is just a bit better and with f.e. the daora hbg would be better then using a pierce 2 gun, is this true and can some1 pls post the motion value for the pierce shots?
I don't know what the motion values are but yes Pierce 1 is better then Pierce 2 in general. But I'm not saying Pierce 2 is bad, the nakarcus lbg can shot all 3 levels of Pierce and you'll be using all of them.
dont use lvl 1 shot they suck stay at critical distents lbg with normal lvl 2 rapid are preaty good diffrent lbg have different strengths and weaknesses if you are new try to start with azurathling lhb its really solid
+Svensk Dödsmetall Obviously, that's the whole point. If lbg is easier to use and still outdamages hbg then there'd be no point in using hbg, it'd be bad game design. Hbg have always outdamages lbg (and almost all other weapon in fact) and it will stay that way. It's risk vs reward.
it largely matters on what you want to do, Heavy is large damage, everything even its arts work for this, Light is better for solo play and is safer to use, and is the best status dealing in the game. Use the Gods Island with the right set up and good timing you can actually stun lock monsters
accuracy is the one concern I have with aerial style. The vast majority of light bowgun damage comes from hitting high damage weak spots so spamming air attacks probably isn't going to do much damage unless the weak spot is on its back. However the ability to mount the monster to create an opening to exploit high damage weak spots when ever you want is a pretty big boon in my book. Couple that with the rapid fire hunter art and the damage could be huge.
Well you'd mainly want to only use Aerial against longer/wider monsters, to ensure as many shots land as possible; although, since it pivots your position over a monster based on where your first shot was, unless the monster moves enough to either miss or hit a less effective spot, all the shots should hit. The Aerial shots also have an automatic critical distance. And, it's not like you have to spam aerial attacks, they aren't any stronger than normal attacks unless you have Aerial Atk Up. Think of aerial as a way to do some damage while dodging over and behind a monster, while giving you the ability to mount it.
Thats kind of the feel I got from seeing aerial lbg game play. Your mostly going to be using it to either evade over the monster or mount it. As for only using it on bigger monsters that might take some testing. I haven't actually played the game so im not sure how well rapid fire shots track when doing aerial if at all. It might be a case of single shot on small, rapid on larger monsters. Aerial is the style I want to use myself when the game comes out. Aerial with explosives might be interesting.
unfortunately no, however the only two main round types that don't have a point blank crit distance is pierce 2 and 3. Most other rounds can be used at point blank or short range with the exception of a few internal rounds like long and sting that are pretty much long range only.
White gale LBG or Daybreak's gaze when maxed. 210 atk with long barrel, 40% affinity, pierce shots galore. rapid pierce lv 1 with no recoil. PAir it with striker to bring it with the best utility potential, espically if you have full house 3 which loads all unlike previous lvs that only loads non rapid fire shots.
I think you forgot to mention during the bushido section that you can cancel the power reload animation by a shot. I think that it is awesome it was needed to be said.
+julius2199 Actually I'm going to have to I'm afraid - I'll have a different video out next week, but it'll be 2 weeks until the final workshop, sorry!
+Arekkz Gaming B-bu-but... Heavy Bowgun tho ; A ; )..... Regardless, thanks for getting these out so fast! XD They're amazing and really hype up MHGenerations!
DeadCore As I said. "Never mind. Full load will do the trick." It seems the hunting art is called "Full load", but we have to see when MHGen comes out. I hope I can still use Gods Isle. I love that gun and I love doing Hame runs with it. Eventho it requires a fuckton of sleepfish.
It makes all your amo at full clip so you don't have to reload when you change amo for a time. It doesn't make some big dramatic animation, so you probably don't notice.
Well, as a mainer of bowguns, I've had plenty of times where monsters specifically targeted me a lot. But with a silencer, not only does it greatly reduce the chance of a monster attacking you, you get less recoil, resulting in a better firing rate. While the power barrel is incredibly tempting, I typically roll with the silencer.
RoberOnocle I didn't know that! I'll try. I thought it was useless because guns make noise anyway and since these monsters have good ears, it wouldn't matter.
Do you realize that you use the same melody flow in each phrase ? And each sentence. In each video. Your voice does the exact same thing each point you make. However, this is the video I've heard it less. Just letting you know cause it might get annoying to some people lol.
Love your videos but please pronounce things properly, your not american so there's no excuse! Rathian is WRATH-IAN like a play on the word Wrath. You wouldnt say Rayth/Rath for the word Wrath, it''s exactly the same
As a Light Bowgun Mainer, Rapid Heaven is a dream come true. I can't wait!
i main as light bowgun, but i use ariel style, and pair it with "full house" so that i can continuously leap off of the monster and strike from above without having to stop to reload. it is actually a very reliable strategy because you are just about impossible to hit when using the ariel jump. it works especially well with pellet rounds since they have a large AOE so even if the monster jumps to the side, it still have a chance to hit.
edward shehan Nice, I'll have to try that.
+RoberOnocle gods island can get 6 normal lv1 shots in rapidfire so you can mount insanely good
"gods island"? is that a bowgun or something?
edward shehan Indeed it is, I had one in 4 Ultimate.
losing the hop for striker style is no loss for me, I always find the backhop annoying as it more often than not sends me into a monsters attack since I'm used to rolling forward when I press B. exchanging that for a hunter art is A-Okay with me.
Guild: I played Dark Souls II
Striker: Anime
Airiel: I can't aim
Bushido: I can aim
***** super over-the-top super attacks have always been a staple of anime
+King of Bread Lions i think he is referring to the fact that striker can take all the supers making it "over the top"
I can't aim cause my circle pad is messed up
i personalty LOVE the light bowgun. it is great if you are on a team of 3 or 4 if you are able to stay a bit back from the action. you can rain down fire on the enemy from a high vantage point, heal and buff your allies if needed, and if you have ariel style equipped, you can jump off of the monster, use the x+a attack, then chain it together with a properly aimed jump shot, land, and reload to get behind the monster quickly while also doing some damage. my fav art with the bowgun is actually "full house" (the complete reload) because you can use ariel style to jump all over the monster while raining shots down from above without waiting to reload. overall it is a very versatile weapon with many different ways to fight.

Looks like I'm sticking with Guild style LBG.
Seregios LBG has made me learn to love the sidestep.
Arekkz what armour pieces are you using. It looks neat.
Thanx, this really helped me understand the pros and cons of each style.

+Dw7freak 100% agree with your comment about the seregios lbg in terms of aerial
Aerial jumps counts as rolls so it will be a monster with Sergio's lbg

Whats the best skiils and armor for light bowgun
so, the Remove Limiter upgrade became a Hunter Art?
can someone please tell me a good all-round LBG and HBG each for hunting monsters in MHXX?
(i usually use bowguns for big monsters or elder dragon)
i'm low on materials so just one each please (or some suggestions with explanations so i can pick)
thanks im advance
Which bowgun is Arekkz using in this video?
I see that you're saving the best for last.
Found a fellow HBGer :^)
Aerial HBG is AWESOME! Also a big fan of Busido HBG ( I refuse to use the crappy western term "adept" doesn't sound as cool)
Dat jetpack shot in the air, tho
HH, bow, and IG were done ages ago though...
I got a couple of questions about the HA rapid fire. So I'm assuming it does less damage per shot but makes up for it in numbers. What does it shoot? "It lets you rapid fire your rapid shots" does that mean if my lbg fires Fire S it also rapid shots Fire S??

Does the Adept/Bushido Reload buff affect the shots in Rapid Heaven? Could you chain the 2 for a massive damage spike?
+Alan Tran i'd assume not because you load the shots even if you have them equipped, similarly to how hbg siege fires. But i'm not 100% certain on that
8:30 how much of a power boost does the power reload give? is it simply infinite critical distance? do you get a flat damage boost? percentage? what?
to motion value or overall damage?
Aerial bowgun worth every bit of fun
What armor are you using?
Not about this but on the division should I buy the Police Mk17 blueprint or get gear blueprints or save up for new stuff
+Kill Ryder I'd save up for new stuff for now :)
+Arekkz Gaming sounds like a plan :P How do you think the gear score will work cause I got all high end weapons, 4 HE gear prices but 2 are superior so do you think that would be enough for hard incursion or not ?

So if you use rapid heaven with normal 2 on rapid, it'll shoot out a rapid clip for each of the 99 shots until you run out?
rapid heaven uses it's own shot.
Can you choose more than one hunting style
still waiting on ammo explanations
I agree.
Rath Los WHAT YEAR IS IT?
Yeah. He does that.
I dont know much about MH in non-Japan. Isn't there language setting? you can play it without understanding?
I don't get your question that much but if it answers a bit, Arekkz speaks Japanese, sort of.
I remember in 4U you could sit down and Rapid fire a certain ammo
Can't remember if it was both bowguns or just the heavy.
Thewaterspirit57 Late but thats just the heavy and its known as siege mode
I went with aerial because it's a great way to knock down a monster for easy mounting.
Shots from such a close range won't do as much damage as they could be doing sadly.
On Amazon it said you can pre order MH Generations and it's coming out on July 31
+Recky 100 That's the placeholder date, Capcom hasn't said anything yet about the offical date. I hope it comes out sooner than that though.
I'm still waiting for that ammo video fam.
I tried aerial style...
It is so fun! :D
What if I used the rapid aerial shot, landed, and turn toward the monster and used Bullet Geyser to put distance between it and me.
Then you would do exactly what you just said.
I wish you could choose your hunting arts, like ultras in SF4 or Super Arts in SFIII
You can
Ah sweet! The demo just sends out out with whatever after you choose a style.
arekkz is it possible to make a video on how to know the perfect weapon for you
GONNA MAIN THIS!
hi just wondering if this is in pc, if it is how do you get it?
+Bryan Sandrino i wish, haha. this is a nintendo 3ds game.
.about Aerial Style.. if i do the aerial attack.. it will the damage the monster as ¨critical distance/damage or not¿?..
+Lightning Edwin It seems to do that with the bow, so I imagine yes for the bowguns.
+Bryanneo1 that was good if yes.. and thanks...
All gunner weapons hit at critical distance with Aerial attacks, regardless of the type of arrow/shot.
LBG aerial attack with pellet shots
Bit of info, the Game Stop website has Monster Hunter Generations release date set for July 31, 2016
I think that just a placeholder date.
Yep its a placeholder date. Also july 31 is sunday. Games doesn't release on sundays.
xLink Kai They don't?
Brian Metcalf
no, some do depends on when the game is complete.
MysteriousStranger50 They confirmed it's for Summer this year and...Thats actually faster than most localisations we've released.
Am I using lbg wrong? I tried it out on the rathalos In mh4u and nearly wasted all of my time.
Ok, thanks. I'll try using different lbgs and stuff next time
dont use lvl 1 shot they suck
stay at critical distents
lbg with normal lvl 2 rapid are preaty good
diffrent lbg have different strengths and weaknesses
if you are new try to start with azurathling lhb its really solid
in this mh wich is better hbg or light ? i think lbg have more dps with hunter art
hbg still outdamages lbg by a mile
+Rikabu but lbg is easier to use , since you move faster
+Svensk Dödsmetall Obviously, that's the whole point. If lbg is easier to use and still outdamages hbg then there'd be no point in using hbg, it'd be bad game design. Hbg have always outdamages lbg (and almost all other weapon in fact) and it will stay that way. It's risk vs reward.
it largely matters on what you want to do, Heavy is large damage, everything even its arts work for this, Light is better for solo play and is safer to use, and is the best status dealing in the game. Use the Gods Island with the right set up and good timing you can actually stun lock monsters
Which of the three LBG-specific arts does not stand out that much?
+MagusAndrus Bullet Geyser
Thought as much. Right now i am deciding if i should go Switch Axe, Light Bowgun, or Heavy Bowgun during Generations...
+Arekkz Gaming can I buy the game in gamestop now or still not here
+Orlando Rodriguez It's coming in summer 2016
+Senpai Squid oh ok thx
You forgot how you can propel youreslf through the air off ledges in aerial style
accuracy is the one concern I have with aerial style. The vast majority of light bowgun damage comes from hitting high damage weak spots so spamming air attacks probably isn't going to do much damage unless the weak spot is on its back. +Arhen Dante Wait, so crit distance is ignored when using Aerial style's vault?
unfortunately no, however the only two main round types that don't have a point blank crit distance is pierce 2 and 3. Most other rounds can be used at point blank or short range with the exception of a few internal rounds like long and sting that are pretty much long range only.
Joshua Perez All attacks from gunner weapons(including Bow) preformed during an Aerial attack act as if they are hitting in critical distance.
how do you unlock rapid fire rain3?
Us light bowgun users finally get a buff!
I got used to striker that I never knew that the double sidestep existed. lmao
arekkz why did it took you so long before making the bowgun
Monster Hunter: Modern Warfare
IF I use LB, I'll most likely use Striker Style.
I might use aerial
Or Adept Style
what armors that
What weapon do you guys like? to me I like hunting horn , great sword and hammer
+HellFire2034 there good and the bow is my favourite gunner weapon 😄😄😊☺
+Skull Brozinc what monster hunter you play? I play mh4u still
+Skull Brozinc will you get mhx or mh gen? since arrekz showed us a video of mh gen, I'm getting it cus it looks good
I like using sword and sheild, charge blade, bow, light bowgun, and long sword. but in mhg im most likely going to main sword and shield again
+Nice guy (just to add on the last comment)I'm trying to get red khezu x armour
LBG recommendation for normal or pierce rapid?
White gale LBG or Daybreak's gaze when maxed. 210 atk with long barrel, 40% affinity, pierce shots galore. rapid pierce lv 1 with no recoil. PAir it with striker to bring it with the best utility potential, espically if you have full house 3 which loads all unlike previous lvs that only loads non rapid fire shots.
Early on I'd say the tigrex LBG wrecks shop. You could also forego rapid and use the serg LBG.
For pierce, nakarkos with recoil down+1/+2.
Are there any lbg's that have stuff like built in demon and/or armor shots?
demon and armor shots are now completely internal.
steve lbg does not have rapid fire anymore so pretty pointless
I think you forgot to mention during the bushido section that you can cancel the power reload animation by a shot. I think that it is awesome it was needed to be said.
"...you might remember the move where the hunter jumps over the rathian and shoots all the way down *his* back.."
Arekkz please.....
+urltrayoshimario5000 He said it's
Rapid heaven!
I'm waiting for shot types infos :)
How to to get lvl 2 fire bullets
Can you change hunting styles
Yes, you can pick which hunting style and arts you want to use before every hunt.
just praying you won't delay again next week
+julius2199 Actually I'm going to have to I'm afraid - I'll have a different video out next week, but it'll be 2 weeks until the final workshop, sorry!
+Arekkz Gaming
B-bu-but... Heavy Bowgun tho ; A ; ).....
Regardless, thanks for getting these out so fast! XD They're amazing and really hype up MHGenerations!
Scored a 'GOD'S ISLE" today!! I'm goin' t' disneyland!! XD
Just got one!
I got 3..lmao
soundtrack please?
No homo... But I think I love you. Thanks for these amazing videos! Super Informative!
No limiter removal?
Hame will be much slower now ...
+Bass-D C Never mind. Full load will do the trick.
I saw a good run just a day ago I think there is a hunter art called full reload that does what limiter removal does. Can't remember the name tho.
DeadCore
As I said. "Never mind. Full load will do the trick."
It seems the hunting art is called "Full load", but we have to see when MHGen comes out.
I hope I can still use Gods Isle.
I love that gun and I love doing Hame runs with it. Eventho it requires a fuckton of sleepfish.
Bass-D C Didn't see that comment when I was typing sorry,
i fell in love...
full house wont work i use it and nothing happens
It makes all your amo at full clip so you don't have to reload when you change amo for a time. It doesn't make some big dramatic animation, so you probably don't notice.
Sometimes it doesn't work though at all. Would that be because of status issues or something?
requiring players to let off a thumbstick to fire really kills bowguns, what I wouldn't give for a re-map options.....
yoooo. it's the same armor set. just purple. nice ^_^
wheres ma hoovy bow gun
